Reflection by Muhammad Nur Aizat Bin Kriscylla

First and foremost, I manage to learn a lot in completing this coursework. This
coursework provides me knowledge on how to handle an English Society Club which I can
bring this knowledge in my future as a teacher.
In this course, I learn on how to establish the committee of an English Language
Society. In the committee, my friends and I collaborate with each other in order to make the
English Language Society interesting with activities planned. It requires a lot of hands to
organize an English language activity especially when it involves a large number of
participants. Besides, during my practicum, I managed to carry out some English Language
activity for the students. It was interesting and gives me an exposure on how to handle
primary school pupils to participate the activity efficiently. The teacher at the school helps me
a lot with advices and guidance on how to cope up with problems such as pupils proficiency
in English, motivating pupils to learn and so on. In addition, I also attended some committee
meetings with my friends and lecturer. During this meeting, my friends and I shared a lot of
things to improve our club better and discuss solutions to problems that we faced in handling
this English Language Society Club.
Regardless of that, we also faced some problems in organizing this English
Language Society Club. The problems that we faced were the time constraints to carry out
the activity, participants of the activity organized and the financial problems. When
organizing activities, I learned on how to consider the right moment to carry it out efficiently.
Otherwise, the activity will be a total messed up because of the unplanned situation and
much more. As for that, we manage to overcome this problem by planning the activity well
with alternative plans and work collaboratively to complete the activity efficiently. Besides, I
also need to consider who will be the participants of the activity and what kind of activity that
is suitable for them according to their level of proficiency. Further, the most important thing to
carry out an activity is the money. Without it, we cannot carry out anything. In our English
Language Society Club, we were facing this problem. As a solution, we manage to collect
some funds by using our own money to buy materials for our activity. By doing so, we
manage to carry out our activity efficiently with the help of the group member.
Furthermore, this coursework helps me a lot on enhancing my understanding on the
English Language Society Club. I managed to grasp some skills in organizing English
language activities for primary school pupils. This skills is important for me as a future
English teacher because I need to be prepared physically and mentally on how to face the

real world situation where the weakness of English language subject performance in primary
school pupils especially the ones in the rural area. It is important to me to be exposed to this
kind of thing earlier so that I can learn and able to come out with appropriate solutions which
suit the needs of the students. It is my responsibility as the teacher to motivate my pupils
and at the same time captivate their interest in learning English language thus improving
their performance in English language subject which are usually noted as a critical subject in
the schools. Besides, it is important for me to instill the awareness on the need to learn
English language and creating an environment where the pupils are comfortable to speak
English with their friends. This will build confidence in my pupils and at the same time
improving my skills in language skills and teaching skills.
As a conclusion, this coursework helps me a lot and providing me with essential skills
in order to become an English teacher. It is crucial for me as an English teacher to educate
and expose my pupils with English language and at the same time making them passionate
to learn English language as it is important for them in order to pursue their future in the
higher education.
