1.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK - GENERAL


Except as otherwise expressly herein, CONTRACTOR shall supply all labor,
supervision, tools, equipment, installed and consumable materials, services,
testing devices and warehousing and each and every item of expense necessary
for design, fabrication, inspection, painting, testing, evaluation, quality assurance,
transportation and delivery of One (01) Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor
Package comprised of: compressor skid, control system, special tools, technical
information and all necessary appurtenances and auxiliary equipment; in
accordance with the technical specifications listed below under 1.1. As well as, all
the personnel required for the supervision of the installation, commissioning and
startup of the Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor Package, including the
technical training for the operating and maintenance staff.
1.1 SPECIFICATIONS
If two (02) or more of the preceding documents have conflicting requirements,
CONTRACTOR shall bring this to PURCHACERS attention for PURCHASERS
decision.

2.1.1 INSTRUMENTATION

2.4 SPECIAL TOOLS

All special tools and fixtures required to disassemble, assemble, or maintain the
compressor, gear box, couplings, steam turbine, and the control system.
All lifting devices required for the field installation of the compressor skid, lube oil
system, seal gas system and control system. Purchaser will only furnish the crane.
2.5 BATTERY LIMITS
In broad terms, the Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor Package is to be supplied
such that all piping and electrical connections to PURCHASERS facilities are located
at the physical edge of the Compressor Skid and the Control System, and do not
require the connection, intervention or installation of any individual component, with
the exception of the leveling and alignment of the steam turbine and compressor,
including the installation of the couplings and guards, and the connection of the Lube
Oil System and Seal Gas System to the Compressor Skid (if and only if the Lube Oil
System and/or Seal Gas System are not mounted on the Compressor Skid
Baseplate). All the electrical connections between the control system and the
compressor skid will be done by a third party. All electrical connections between field
mounted instruments and control system will be done by a third party. All electrical
connections between the control system and PURCHASERS Distributed Control
System (DCS) will be done by a third party. All electrical connections between the
Compressor Skid and the PURCHASERS electrical system will be done by a third
party. All electrical connections between the Control System and the PURCHASERS
electrical system will be done by a third party.
In this document the word piping includes all pipes, bolts, studs, flanges, gaskets,
joints, elbows, tees, reductions, fittings, spectacle blinds and supports, required to
direct the fluid from the source to the sink. CONTRACTOR shall supply all piping
fully welded. No welds will be done by PURCHASER or third party.
2.6 TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The CONTRACTOR shall furnish, as a minimum, the following technical information:

a)

Mechanical data books. The mechanical data books shall contain to the fullest
extent the specifications, mechanical data sheets, instrument data sheets,
equipment lists, instrument lists, signals list, valve data sheets, valve list,
QA/QC

reports,

purchase

specifications,

as

well

as,

drawings,

and

manufacturer's literature. The books shall be in durable binders capable of


withstanding hard usage, of polyvinyl material with rounded outside corners,
riveted to piano type hinges, and have a locking (no ring type binders) to
accommodate A4 or US letter sized sheets with standard 3-hole punching. The
lettering on the covers shall clearly and prominently display PURCHASERS
logo, facility name, unit designation, and in a less prominent position, the
CONTRACTOR'S name. The time and distribution of the mechanical data books
shall be as specified in Attachment A.

are considered an integral part of the Test data.

Vendor drawings and data for all subvendor-purchased electrical equipment


shall be provided.
All documentation, except for equipment catalogs not available in Spanish, shall
be in Spanish.

Two sets of the documentation shall be made available in

English. PURCHASER will not furnish a set of documents for CONTRACTORS


use during the installation, commissioning and start-up phase of the Recycle
Gas Centrifugal Compressor Package.
2.7 TRANSPORTATION
The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the transportation of all materials,
and equipment from place of manufacture to the Plant Site. DDU INCO Terms
2000.
2.8 REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
In addition to the mechanical data books, the CONTRACTOR shall include
within its scope of work the following documentation:
Job coordination specification
Project quality plan
Design criteria
2.9 MISCELLANEOUS
Additionally the CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for executing or furnishing
the following items:
Compressor and speed increasing gear mechanical run tests.
Steam turbine mechanical run test.
Compressor performance test.
Dry Gas Seals performance test.
On site performance test.
Shop testing of the electrical wiring system.

3.

RECYCLE GAS CENTRIFUGAL Compressor package integration.


CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for producing all the documents, specifications
and drawings necessary in order to assure that no mechanical, electrical,
instrumentation or control systems interference occurs; that is, all components of the
Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor package must fit together without incurring on
site modifications.
CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for supervising that all components of each skid
or shelter comprising the Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor package and its
auxiliaries are assembled at manufacturers shop in strict accordance with
CONTRACTOR'S specifications. This requirement is strictly applicable to equipment
furnished in the same skid or panel. On site installation, commissioning and start-up
of the Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor package will be executed by a third party
at PURCHASERS location in strict accordance to CONTRACTORS specifications.
CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for producing all the documents, specifications
and drawings necessary in order to assure that no mechanical, electrical,
instrumentation or control system interference occurs between the Recycle Gas
Centrifugal Compressor Package and its associated process units, process
instrumentation, process valves, and the Distributed Control System; that is, all
components of Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor package and its associated
process units, process instrumentation, process valves, and main control system,
function properly without incurring on site modifications.

RECYCLE GAS CENTRIFUGAL Compressor package installation,


commissioning and startup supervision.
CONTRACTOR

shall

be

responsible

for

supervising

that

the

installation,

commissioning and startup of the Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor Package


including all the auxiliaries systems, is carried out in strict accordance with
CONTRACTORS specifications. In order to do this, CONTRACTOR, shall assist
third party in programming the installation, commissioning and startup activities of the
Recycle Gas Centrifugal Compressor Package including its auxiliaries, coordinate
and give instructions to field and technical personnel furnished by third party; as well
as, furnish all specialized personnel (Centrifugal Compressor field engineer, Steam
Turbine field engineer, Control System field engineer, and instrumentation field
engineer).

CONTRACTOR shall quote a lump sum daily rate that includes all

transportation, lodging, living expenses, medical and insurance costs, associated


with CONTRACTORS specialized personnel.
5.

TECHNICAL TRAINING
CONTRACTOR shall prepare a technical program for compressor skid components
and control system operating and maintenance personnel. Program shall be based
upon the assumption that the personnel possesses sufficient knowledge and
experience in operation and maintenance of centrifugal compressors, steam turbines
and control system.
The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all instructors, materials, documents and drawings,
conference rooms, including the furnishings, slide and transparency projectors, black
boards or its equivalent, refreshments, and all other writing materials required for this
task.
