He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music, studying under the tutelage of Professor Phillip Kawin. He completed his Bachelor of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music in 2010, where he graduated magna cum laude. In 2001, Michael became the youngest first prize winner in the history of the prestigious Rene B. Fisher Competition. Among his other achievements, Michael was a top prizewinner at the 2002 Great Neck Young Artists Competition and the 2003 Carlson Horn Competition. In 2004, Michael won the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Concerto Competition and performed Liszts First Piano Concerto with the Manhattan School of Music Philharmonic Orchestra. As winner of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra competition, Michael performed the Liszt Concerto with the Hartford Symphony. In 2005, Michael won second prize in the Jacob Flier International Competition, where he was praised by such artists as Vladimir Feltsman and Alexander Slobodyanik. Michael also performed in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as part of the second Young Artists Piano Showcase. He has also won the Center for Chamber Music Scholarship in Greenwich, CT. Michael has participated in masterclasses for such artists as Nina Serogina, Daniel Pollack, Jean Bernard Pommier and most recently was chosen by competitive audition to play for Garrick Ohlsson. Michael has participated in the PianoSummer International Festival-Institute at SUNY New Paltz and the International Academy of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia and in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italy for the summers of 2002 to 2005, as well as the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, and the Prague International Piano Masterclasses in the summer of 2008, where he has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician.

Council offers an array of community programs available to residents of all ages. These programs include the Two Bridges Music program, which currently offers piano lessons (group and individual) and singing lessons at an accessible cost to local families. --As part of our 2015 programming, Two Bridges Music is launching a series of FREE concerts, open to the public.
