Surgeon General

US newly elected President Barack Obama recently selected Sanjay Gupta, a
neurosurgeon to be the next U.S. Surgeon General. Born on October 23, 1969
Sanjay Gupta is an American physician and a contributing CNN chief health
correspondent based in Atlanta, Georgia.
The surgeon general serves as the nation's "chief health educator" by providing
the public with medical information on how to improve health and reduce the risk
of injury and illness. The surgeon general is also responsible for commanding the
6,000-member U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, a group of
scientists and emergency responders who address a broad range of health
emergencies.
Gupta also has been offered the lead role in the new White House Office of Health
Reform, which would give him "twin duties that could make him the most
influential surgeon general in history.
Gupta hosts CNN's weekend program "House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta" and is
an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine,
as well as a neurosurgeon at Emory University Hospital and associate chief of
neurosurgery at Grady Health System.
Gupta grew up in Novi, Michigan, and received his undergraduate degree in
biomedical sciences at the University of Michigan and his M.D. from the

IIT-JEE 2009, to be conducted on 12 April 2009 brings
opportunity for thousands of JEE aspirants to realize their
dreams to which they have been so strongly committed.
Resonance, with the objective of testing of subject knowledge
and preparation by the experts has offered All India Open Tests
(AIOTs) to the students across the country in 43 cities. AIOT 1
has been conducted on 18 January 2009 and AIOT 2 was
scheduled on 8 February 2009. The AIOTs prove as confidence
boosters because of the fierce competition amongst
thousands of students and provide Micro and Macro analysis
to every individual participant. The application forms could be
had from the institute or downloaded from institute’s website.
Now Resonance has a single number 0744-3012222 for all the official
communication through call center. Through the PRI line, we can have
concurrent 30 channels of communication (in coming and out going) on
this single number 3012222. As there are thirty concurrent channels,
Resonance number will never be found engaged to any students / parents.
We have five seats in our call center with the extension number 301 to 305.
All the call center numbers are in “hunt series”, means if 301 will found
busy, it will automatically be forwarded to 302 and likewise.
All the telephone numbers, PRI (3012222) as well as earlier PSTN number,
will lend up at call center, thus Help Desk staff can focus their attention on
walk-ins.
The Help Desk has the master number 300, which will rang up in case of
non responding to the numbers. At call center, members can follow-up all
the missed calls in night hours also. They can keep log of all the incoming
and outgoing calls. Call center could be useful for call receiving as well as
calling students / parents. Happy calling.

Institute’s Leave System
There will be 09 Festival/Declared Holiday for
Faculty Members (IIT-JEE Division) in a session
including 6 days for Diwali Holiday; 01 day for
Independence Day; 01 day for Republic Day; 01
day for Holi.
However, the faculty members, following other
religions (other than Hindus) may avail 03 Diwali
Holidays on any other festival of their own
choice.
There will be 6 Festival/Declared Holidays for
Non Academic Staff & PCCP Faculty
Members in a session including 3 days for
Diwali Holiday; 01 day for Independence Day;
01 day for Republic Day; 01 day of your own
choice on any festival (Holi/ Id/Christmas/
Gurunanak Jayanti).
Casual Leave taken by any person should be
less than three days at stretch on an occasion.
There will be 6 days special leave in case of
marriage or death of blood relatives of any
employee on the recommendation of G.M.

Resonance Nagpur Study Centre recently organized ‘VISTA’ event. It was
conducted on 14 December 08 in 5 cities of Vidarbha; Bhandara, Chandrapur,
Pulgaon, Wardha and Yavatmal. At Nagpur, it was conducted on 21 December
08. There were two categories; one for the students of class IX & X, and
another was for Best School Participation. 2500 students from more than 40
schools participated in the event. 53 students qualified from each category.
