Walk Two Moons

In Walk Two Moons , by Sharon Creech, death is something that happens and it is
very sad but the characters learn to overcome it, these characters are Sal, Sals mother, and
Gramps, and they learn this throughout the story.Some of the characters of the that are involved
in this are Gramps, Sal, Sal's mom and Sal's Brother.I think that death is one of the main
themes of this book.Sal real name is Salamanca Tree Hiddle, she is 13 years old. Her
hometown is Bybanks, Kentucky.She has a best friend called Phoebe Winterbottom . She does
not likes cars, planes, pregnant . She loves trees, and also blackberries.
When Sals Mom dies, she starts to learn about death, later in the story she will learn
more. Sal does not like cars because her mother died in a car accident. Sal started learning that
people around her really make an difference on her life. She used to do lots of things with her
mother, for example they would go eat blackberries while Sal was small, back in the Bybanks.
When Sals mom died, it had a great impact on Sals life, and one quote that proves that is I
had not said anything about what had happened the day before about being scared down to
my very bones when I thought they had left me. I don't know what came over me. Ever since my
mother left us that April day, I suspected everyone was going to leave, one by one. She got
really scared, and the thing she was afraid was now happening, people were now leaving her,
one by one.
Sal starts to learn more about death when Gramps and her lost Gram. Gram was a
really important person in both of their lives.Gram died with a stroke.Sal and Gramp get over

this death because at the end of the book they go back to the Bybanks and burry Gram. They
got really sad with her death. Gramps always ends this story by saying, "That bed has been
around my whole life, and I'm going to die in that bed, and then that bed will know everything
there is to know about me. They missed her but they could get over it.
Sals brother dies on Sals fault, she learns a lot know, that she had lost her
mom,brother, and Grams. Sal now had learned a lot, with,already three deaths. This was the
worst for her, in my opinion. This was the worst for her because this mortality was kind on her
fault.Sal was climbing a tree while raining. She falled from the tree, and she broke her leg. Her
mother found her(she was pregnant of Sals brother), and carried her, that was when She lost
the baby, and it was on Sals fault.She got very sad with this mortality. My mother, my father,
and I all seemed fine and happy at our house until the baby died. Could you actually say that
the baby died, since it had never breathed? Did its birth and death occur at the same moment?
Could you die before you were born? Yes, she got sad.
Deaths are very sad , but you need to overcome them. You can use Walk Two Moons
example to see that you will get sad, but then eventually , you will overcome it.Sals mom dies,
she overcome it, Sals brother dies, but she overcome it ,Sals grandmother dies, and she can
overcome it. Those were very important persons in Sals life, but at the end of the story you can
notice that she overcomes it, together with the people she most liked.
