NEW OR REVISED FEATURES IN ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHIC STANDARDS CD-ROM VERSION 3.0
With Version 3.0 of Architectural Graphic Standards (AGS) CD-ROM, the award winn
ing title has been updated to include more vector data for easy integration with
the tools that Architects use on their desktops.
Version 3.0 is Web linked for maximum efficiency. Industry Links have been updat
ed to directly connect your search to thousands of product manufacturers, trade
associations and other industry Web sites for additional information. And AGS CD
-ROM V3.0 uses MasterFormat 95, the latest version of the industry standard codi
ng scheme for construction industry information.
All New Information in Vector Format
AGS CD-ROM V3.0 contains all the information in the Tenth Edition of the classic
reference, Architectural Graphic Standards. The Tenth Edition has over 600 new
and updated pages of information, reflecting the latest changes in regulations,
standards, building methods, structural systems and materials in use today. The
new information is also in vector format, ready for use in AutoCAD (TM), MicroSt
ation (TM) and other CAD packages. The information covers:
- Seven new building systems are covered including: Flying Form, Tilt-up Wall, L
aminated Wood Post and Beam, Lightweight Mobile Modular, Space Frames, Metal Bui
lding Systems, and Tension Fabric Structures.
- New energy-efficient Lighting Design standards that address current energy cod
es.
- Increased and up-to-date coverage of ADA and Green Building Guidelines.
- New security design coverage for both public and private buildings.
- Expanded and updated information on new and specialty paints, high-performance
coatings and substrate conditions.
- Complete integration with MASTERSPEC definitions with material specifications
and industry standards critical for productivity.
- An update to the most recent CSI MasterFormat 95 edition of standards for buil
ding construction designations.
Industry Links
Version 3.0 updates and introduces a host of new Industry Links. Industry Links
provides the first content sensitive Web search for the Construction Industry. A
GS CD-ROM users can immediately link from a drawing (or any object in AGS CD-ROM
) to Web sites of Product Manufacturers and Associations & Resources for additio
nal related information. AGS CD-ROM also provides links to Web sites that provid

e additional detail drawings, building designs, and industry standards. E-mail a


ddresses are also listed where available.
Industry Links makes AGS CD-ROM your road map for navigating the Web. Since Indu
stry Links is content sensitive it points you to the relevant information you ne
ed and makes the use of the Web a productive experience for the design and const
ruction industry.
Version 3.0 updates and expands the list of Product Manufacturers from the partn
ership with Architects' First Source (AFS). AFS has developed a reputation as a
leading content provider for construction industry information.
Industry Links Update
Registered AGS CD-ROM users can visit the AGS CD-ROM Web site to download new an
d updated Industry Links.
E-mail Links
AGS CD-ROM includes references to e-mail addresses for Industry Links. As initia
lly configured, those e-mail links are not active. Users, at their discretion, c
an make a simple change to the AGS CD-ROM INI file to activate the e-mail addres
ses. When the e-mail addresses are active, AGS CD-ROM will launch your e-mail so
ftware using the e-mail address as the "mail to" default. See "Customization to
Activate E-mail Links" in the Online Help for more information.
Save Options
The Options menu pulldown includes Save Options which will save user settings fo
r Scroll Bars and Return to Main. When checked, Save Options will save the setti
ngs for Scroll Bars and Return to Main. If unchecked, the Options will return to
default (Scroll Bars unchecked, Return to Main checked).
