Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: ...if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us (1 Jn 5:14).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

CAMEROON: In July we prayed for an upcoming all-night meeting that an alumnus planned to pray for Muslims.
However, for security reasons, the government has banned all-night meetings, so an All-Day Missions Prayer event
is being scheduled. Boko Haram has been active in Cameroon, killing more than 300, and it is likely that a network
exists in the city where this alumnus pastors. So far, he says, no churches have been targeted. Please pray for this
upcoming prayer meeting, that it would serve to unite and further encourage believers to pray for and reach Muslims.
NIGER: Workers who operate a school here ask for prayer for difficult situations they face. One writes, One
teacher's aid that I have been helping for several years is missing, and some say she has been taken as a slave to
another country. Then today, news came that the parents of one of our students has been killed by Boko Haram in
Diffa, Niger. I just pray God will help us show these children the love of God and reach many for Christ. Intercede
for those who serve at the school, which serves 1,335 children, most of whom are Muslim.
NORTHEASTERN DRCONGO: Pray for the people and churches in the region of Beni, near the Ugandan border. A
student who pastors here writes, We are confronted by the jihadist activities of armed Ugandan groups called ADF,
who massacre, kidnap, and kill civilians.' Although their leader was arrested last year and extradited to Uganda, ADF
activities have continued. Muslims are gaining more influence in business and setting up Koranic schools. Most
churches have remained small. Pray that the Lord would encourage and empower His people to reach out to those
around them who live in fear and are seeking peace. Pray for open doors to reach the Muslims in the area.

In the News
More than half a million refugees have streamed into Europe so far this year, mostly from the Middle East and Africa,
and most of them Muslims (for a map, see http://read.bi/1iAIxvY). The influx of refugees is causing much dissension
in the European Unionand opportunities to reach out to them, at borders and in camps and centers. Pray for
missionaries and local churches who are sharing food, goods, and Jesus' love. Pray that, even as they travel, the Spirit
would prepare the hearts of many refugees to receive the message of salvation.

From Global Initiative*

Pray for Mohammed in Eritrea, who lost his family and job after he decided to follow Jesus. Eritrea is ranked #9 on
the World Watch List of the 50 nations where Christians suffer the most persecution. All religions are under
government scrutiny, and a convert from Islam will also suffer at the hands of his community. According to Open
Doors, A growing source of persecution in Eritrea is Islamic extremism... radical Muslims appear to be gaining
support and the government has sympathy for extremist groups such as Rashaida and al-Shabaab - they have
reportedly supplied al-Shabaab with weapons at times. May the Lord help the Mohammeds to remain faithful.

For Muslim Women**

Pray that women who are working the front lines of Europes refugee crisis will be anointed for spiritual impact
among Muslims in need.
