Korothia Information

The land of Korothia is both new and old at the same time. Old because it has been around for centuries
and new because, about 200 years ago, a magical catastrophe of epic proportions wracked the entire
world, drastically altering the landscape. (For those of you familiar with the Forgotten Realms, it's on par
with the Spellplague and Time of Troubles.)
Korothia is made up of 3 explored continents and the mysterious land known as "The Isle of Fog". The
game will take place on the known continents (for now). The continents (largest to smallest) are Aelview,
Ostburn and Baylea, which was once part of Ostburn, but broke off during the Year of Thundering
Silence.
The game starts in the coastal kingdom of Pelavium, in which the headquarters of the legendary Halls of
Wonder is located. This bustling city is populated with members of numerous races. Humans, elves,
dwarves and others call this amazing city home. Pelavium is located in the Winterborne region of
Aelview, on the northwestern part of the continent.
Silverdell Forest, home of the Elven race, lies roughly in the center of the continent. Silverdell is a land of
beauty and serenity, which is not to say the elves are unskilled in fighting. The ruler of the forest (and the
Elven race) is Evandryll Nightbreeze, is a Sun Elf of some repute.
The region called Lightwyn is home to the Dwarves and other beings of darkness and stone. The name is
somewhat of a misnomer, because rarely does the region become brighter than twilight. Indeed, visitors to
the area humorously refer to the place as "Light, When?", though never to one of its denizens faces, of
course. Lightwyn is located on the southwestern portion of the continent.
The High Moor is a nightmarish place of death and decay. Located to the northwest, the High Moor is
place not visited by one of good-standing willing. This enormous swampland is held in thrall by the lich-
king Azar-Malzz. The landscape of this horrid wasteland is dotted with ruins, graves, and other remnants
of lost civilizations.
Ostburn, the second largest continent in Korothia, is a land of raging extremes. The most prominent, and
striking feature of the land is the Icelake Wastes, which is home to many white dragons, winter worms,
barbaric nomads, and most importantly, the 'Xarzith Verthicha' or 'Ice Mountain' in ancient Draconic. The
Ice Mountain is a volcano that spews forth not lava, but ice. The cause of this is unusual phenomenon is
unknown, but is often speculated upon. The Ice Mountain is home to an anicent white wyrm Gix
d'Xarzith, and his many hellish spawn. It is said to also house a treasure of unimaginable wealth and
danger...
Swynburn, the second of Ostburn's three regions, is the complete antithesis of the Icelake Wastes. A land
of fire and volcanoes, Swynburn is home to two warring factions of dragons, Gold and Red. The soot-
filled air is often rent by the sounds of battle from the two races.
Belhollow is the final region and by far the most hospitable part of Ostburn. Home to the Halflings and
Gnomes, Belhollow is a land of excitement and energy (sometimes the bottled-up energy explodes).
Baylea is the home of Orc, Goblins, and others of such ilk. The less said about the region the better.
Not much about the Isle of Fog is known as few who travel there ever return. Those who return, do not do
so with their sanity...
