Inti Sentosa is a general contractor company. It was established in

2014 by professional contractors. They are Hendrick Ignatius, Indra
and Alin Wongso Atmojo. It is located on Jalan Rangkah II/5i, East
Even though, it is a new company, all directors have many
experiences and knowledge in building construction. One of its
biggest project is Ministry of Maritime and Fishery Affairs in order
help the optimization of fishery cultivation.

POWER SYSTEM

Power system is defined as the system with a goal to generate and transmit the electric power
user via the transmission system to the electric power end users. CV Djaja Inti Sentosa uses
two kind of power systems, which are UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and Diesel
Generator.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
UPS is a device that allows a computer to keep running for at least a short time when the
primary power source is lost. In DIS, UPS always stand by 24 hours in order to anticipate the
power surges, sudden short circuit and blackout. It uses two UPS in which . This UPS
contains a battery that kicks in when the device lost power from the primary source. So, when
there is a sudden short circuit or blackout, the computers can still run for 30 minutes. This
30-minute can be used to save any data that are working on and exit gracefully before the
battery runs out. Other than that, UPS can prevent the damage in computers due to power
surges since UPS intercepts the surge. Below is UPS that being used in DiS.

Diesel Generator
Diesel Generator provide the most reliable form of emergency backup power. It is used
because of the need for rapid response time when the sudden blackout occurred. This
generator will be able to start and absorb a full electrical load within ten seconds of power
failure.

SERVER AND STORAGE

Server
Server is a computer that provides data to other computers or it is usually called as clients.
Other than that, DIS uses server as a tool to control access to software on a network. Shortly,
a server will access data, information, and programs on another client user. However, there
are some data which are limited to the access of the shared data. Moreover, there is a
limitation in installing the software, they need to ask permission from the administrator. DIS
uses IBM Server.

Storage
This server is connected to the storages. DIS uses four hard disk drives as its storage. The
hard disk drive is a data storage device used for storing digital information, all of important
companys information will be saved here. Basically, all four hard disk drives will have the
same data saved. When the client saves data, its data will be automatically saved on four hard
disk drives. If the first hard disk drive is broken, then it will automatically switch to the
second hard disk drives. There is a yellow lamp indicator when this hard disk drive is broken.
When there is a broken hard disk, the company can immediately call the technician so that he
can change into a new hard disk drive.

INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICES

Input Devices
Input data is any hardware device that sends data to a computer. DIS uses some of input
devices. However, it is only common input devices used in other company. There are
keyboard, mouse, and scanner. Keyboard is used for typing as a tool to input the text into the
CPU. The keyboard that they use is Logitech.

Meanwhile, mouse is used for pointing something in computer and the brand they use is
Logitech. Then scanner is used for transferring the data on the paper into the computer. The
brand of the scanner is Canon.

Output Devices
Output Devices is any hardware equipment used to communicate the results of data
processing. They use printer and monitor. Actually, they use two kind of printer. The first one
is inkjet printer used for converting softcopy document to hardcopy document. DiS uses
Canon MX 347 with some features such as Wifi, scanner and fax.

The second one is also inkjet printer, however, it is bigger than the first printer, because this
printer is used for producing graphic display such as blueprint on A3 paper. It uses HP
Officejet 7610.

Then, monitor is used to display the visual output

from a computer. The brand that they use is LG LCD monitor.

COMMUNICATION AND NETWORK
In terms of communication and network, DIS is used Local Area Network (LAN) in order to
exchange data between computers or clients inside the company. Other than that, LAN can
share the resources between clients, such as printers, scanners, file servers and internet. In
order to connect all the client computers to server computer, it is needed to use network
switches. Basically, network switches is a networking device that connects devices together
on a computer network. DIS decided to use this network because LAN provides a faster
communication between clients. However, they dont use Internet as their communication
and network because they thought that using LAN is more efficient and effective since they
dont need to pay the internet provider fee.

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE

Software
Software is programs or other operating information used by a computer. CV Djaja Sentosa
hired a professional IT programmer in order to make accounting software. There is no
specific name for this software since it is created by the professional itself. This software was
made by companys request because they thought that using accounting software provided in
the market was very hard to run. Thus why they wanted a simple program in accordance with
companys request. This program is used to record all transactions occurred, however, the
company requested to add some features such as discount feature. However, they didnt want
to tell further about this software. Other than that, DIS also uses Microsoft Offices such as
Excel in order to make construction tender budget and Word in order to make proposal for
tendering.
The other crucial software for contractor is AutoCad, a software application for computeraided design and drafting. This software supports both 2D and 3D formats in order to
construct the building such as house and make a blueprint.
For the antispyware, it uses Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 in which help computer
prevent, search for, detect and remove software viruses and other malicious software like
worms, Trojans, and adware.

Hardware
Hardware is a physical device used in the machine that can be touched. At DiS office, it uses
CPU with specification Core i5 processor, Windows OS, NVIDIA GeForce with 2GB DDR3
RAM, 1TB HDD. Those specifications are taken, because as a general contractor, they need
to design their house and make blueprint in which take a huge software sizes, thus why, they
need a sophisticated computer.
In conclusion, after my visit in CV Djaja Inti Sentosa, I become more realize that Information
Technology Infrastructure is playing a significant role in management. As a significant
contribution to the companys long-term success, ITI has burst a major organizational
performance. Thus why, as a business people, the using of technology must be aligned to
business strategies and management functions (budgeting, staffing, organizing and
managing).
