1. Deduct the longitude of the lagna from the longitude of the 10th house.

If
the longitude of the 10th is less, add
12 rasis (360 degrees) to it. The remainder should be converted into degrees and
trebled, divide the result by 40. The remainder would indicate the number of
days for the accomplishment of the object in case the lagna is a moveable rasi.
If lagna is a fixed rasi, the number should be doubled. If a dual rasi, the
number of days should be trebled.
2. The number of navamsas that have risen in lagna indicates the time, the unit
of time taken being Ayana (half-year), Kshana (second) or Muhurtha (48 minutes),
Dina (day), Ritu (season of 2 months), Masa (month) Paksha (15 days), or Abda
(year), according as the lord of the navamsa is the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury,
Jupiter, Venus and Saturn respectively.
3. The time is indicated by as many units as measured by the number of navamsas
traversed by the lord of
navamsa lagna from the navamsa lagna, the unit taken being the one appropriate
to the planet owning the
rising navamsa as explained above.
4. The period indicated by the lord of the lagna navamsa, multiplied by the
number of navamsas traversed by the
that lord gives the time of fructification.
5. The time of fructification is to be known by multiplying the time-periods
allotted to the different planets by
the number of Navamsas gained by the planet in the rasi.
6. If the lord of a house is in the visible hemisphere, the effects of the house
will be experienced very shortly. If
the lord is in the invisible hemisphere, the results will happen very late. The
time of fruition corresponds to
the period in months or days signified by the number of rasis intervening
between the house concerned and
the rasi occupied by the lord of the house.
7. The results may happen when the Moon next transits the rasi occupied by the
lord of the concerned house.
8. The period signified by the lagna lord multiplied by the number of rasis
intervening between the Lagna and
the rasi holding a malefic planet indicates the period of sorrow.
9. When the Sun, the Moon, or the effect-giving planet transits the Lagna, or
the rasi occupied by the effectgiving planet, or its exaltation rasi, the event happens.
10. The Sun signifies Uttarayana and the Moon Dakshinayana.
Events can happen:
1. During the Dasa and Bhukti of the planets.
2. On the nakshatra days of the planets concerned.
3. The week-days of the planets concerned..
4. The Ritus (seasons) of the planets concerned.
5. When the Sun, the Moon, and Jupiter transit the radical rasi of the planet
concerned.
6. When the rasi of the concerned planet rises or sets.
