Requirements Nothing special to take the exam but separate requirements to meet certain
criteria for certification. If you do not meet criteria for certification, you will have a testamur
status after taking the exam until you meet criteria for certification. The certification application
and supporting documents are not required to register for the examination and can be submitted
at any time.
3. Cardiovascular Imaging Training Program

Cost : This is designed for individuals desiring training in order to be able to perform and
interpret CMR in their practice. Cost $10,000 per month, or $25,000 for individuals who register
and pay for their entire training at one time.
Fellowship program:
Description: This program is intended for cardiologists and radiologists wishing to gain basic or
profound CMR- knowledge.
We provide short term fellowships as well as 1 or 3 month fellowships (the last-mentioned 2
courses enable the fellow obtaining level 1 and levels 2 CMR competency respectively)
The courses are based on the actual training guidelines but we do our best to tailor the program
to the individual needs considering areas of strength and previous experience.

Teaching is exclusively done on one to one basis enabling excellent supervision and guidance.
The program comprises
Hands on experience
Case interpretation from daily practice as well as from awell-prepared extensive teaching file
of cases with frequent correlation to other imaging modalities.
Didactic course of CMR lectures following the SCMR Training Guidelines
Personal postprocessing workstation / computer
Scanners used for cardiovascular imaging
MRI
Siemens Skyra 3 T:
routine work
Siemens Avanto 1,5 T: optional, if necessary
CT
Siemens Definition Dual Source
Setting:
Center of high troughput (approx. 75 cardiac mris/ 5 days)
Mostly outpatients with indications covering the whole range of clinical settings.
Cardiac MRI: 15 - 18 cases / day (nearly all of them on 3T)
Cardiac CT (mostly coronary imaging): 3 4 cases/day
Diagnostikum Berlin as a reference site: Siemens (Cardiovascular MRI) , Circle CVI 42
(Cardiovascular postprocessing software)
Special arrangements can be made to accommodate a combined CMR- & CTA- fellowship.
The courses start anytime dependent on avaibility
Due to the fact that only up to two fellows at the same time are accepted the availibility is
limited.
