A. what is a living thing?

Living things are organisms that breathe and breed of small to large
with the help of the universe and other creatures. And can adapt to
their environment by living beings themselves.
B. What characteristics of living things?
Living things have characteristics that distinguish the non-living
beings. These characteristics, among other:
BREATHE (respiration)
Breathing is the process of taking oxygen from the environment and
the expenditure of water vapor along with carbon dioxide.
Respiration that uses oxygen is called aerobic respiration
Breathing that do not use oxygen is called anaerobic respiration
For example: fungi and bacteria.
Move
One very distinguishing characteristic between the living and nonliving things are moving. Motion on humans and animals will become
visible as humans and animals have the tool motion. Locomotor human
form of foot and hand.
Animals have many different locomotor, among others:
o Fins on fish
o Wings in birds
In addition to animals and humans, plants are also capable of
moving. Movement in plants is difficult to observe by naked
eye.Example is the motion of movement in plants shut shy daughter
leaves when touched.
Required food and water
Food needed by living things as a source of energy, to grow, and to
replace cells that have been damaged. While the water is needed to
balance the body, solvent some substances, vitamins and
minerals. Food is converted into substances that the body needs after
going through biological and chemical processes. Most of the food substance

then the combustion process is converted into energy. Oxygen required for
this process is obtained
grow and develop
Growing up is a process of increasing the size of the creature, and the
addition of this size do not come back to its original size. While the flower, is a
process of reaching maturity, ranging from simple forms or circumstances,
such as seeds to form more complex or circumstances, such as a tree. The
addition of the size and maturity of this achievement is due to the formation
of new tissue that begins by increasin the number, size and function of the
cell. Of course, in the number and size can only occur if there is additional
material in the form of substances that diproleh of food.
Breed (REPRODUCTION)
This breed is the ability of living things to produce offspring
Goal is to preserve the breed from extinction offspring and increase the amount of generation
Irritable
Plants react to the stimuli. Examples shy daughter leaves shut when touched.
Sensory organs that are sensitive to a stimulus. Sensory organs in humans and animals,
among others:
Light stimuli sound vibration stimuli
Excitatory stimuli smell of hot, cold, touch and pressure sores. Excitatory taste (bitter, sweet,
salty)
SPENDING THE REST OF SUBSTANCE
All creatures excrete waste products derived from metabolic processes that take place in the
body.
Waste materials removed from the body through the process of breathing (respiration),
excretion, and defakasi.
Respiratory processes excrete carbon dioxide and water vapor.
The process of passing urine excretion.
Defakasi is spending the remains of digestion in the form of feces
So the living being is an organism that must have traits - traits, can breathe, eat, move, grow,
danberadaptasi sensitive to stimuli according to their ways and their environment - each.
