STATEMENT BY KRISTIN IZUMI-NITAO AND GARY KAM, Kristin eumi-Nitao and Gary Kam presented the following information in this meeting: 1, They requested that the Department of the Attorney General accepts the criminal referral ofthe Campaign Spending Commission and conduct a criminal investigation fon House of Representative member, James Kunane Tokioka (hereinafter referred to as Tokioka). Kristin Izumi-Nitao determined that this contribution made by Altria Client Services was a violation ‘of Hawali Revised Statute §11-352, False Name Contribution, in that, Tokioka initially named G.A. The report inferred that Tokioka failed to report campaign contributions. As they were compiling the information for submission, they found that supplementary Information was necessary to complete the report as specified by the Commission. Specifically, additonal information needed tobe obtained from a couple of donors ‘who had contributed over one thousand dollars. On 08/29/14, once the supplementary donor information had been obtained, they submitted arevised 1" Preliminary Primary Report. 6. Tokioka stated that regarding the untimely deposits of checks, this was bis error as he ‘was not aware that the checks received at the fundraisers had to be deposited within seven days. He has since been advised an HAR 3-160-308, a.
