1.p John tabled the 12 month report from VBRRA. John read an excerpt from this document,
relating to the Flowerdale area.

2.p Last Friday John & Pete progressed negations re bus. Met with David Barker from Salvation
Army, and we feel the bus

3.p Last Friday, John & Pete attended a meeting called by Jane Arwus VFF, RDV, VBRRA Donations
Dept David Henderson (DEWAR), Dave Barker from Salvation Army. The meeting revolved
around developing the Flowerdale Economy. Flowerdale is a unique area, and unlike other
communities, shop fronts, industrial estates etc are not appropriate for our community.
Community interest tends towards organic industries Ƌ fruit & vegetables (integrated with the
new Propagation Unit to be shortly located at the Flowerdale Primary School and the Proposed
Community Garden), beef, fishing industries. John and Pete felt that the meeting was strongly
supportive of the Flowerdale Economy, and that the participants were extremely interested in
supporting this integrated project practically and financially.

4.p John Tabled the ƐFlowerdale Community Recovery Committee Status Report Ƌ 14 February 2010
Ƌ VBRRA Response 19/2/10Ƒ and the FRC spent considerable time going through each item, and
providing updates as necessary.

5.p John tabled a document for the Community Update From FRC, and asked us to work on this
document before publication and asked that this be done by Friday 26th.

1.p Judy read out letter from a Resident of Flowerdale who asked that every member of the
Flowerdale Community receive a painting from the Canberra Collection. However, Pete pointed
out that the intention of the donors was for Ɛpeople who lost their homesƑ. The meeting endorse
that the artists of the Canberra Collection be approached by Sharon Collins (Convenor of
Flowerdale Arts Work Engine) asking Rob to clarify the terms on which the artworks are to be
distributed. The FRC feels that this is appropriate because it is not part of our community-asked
for-agenda, and we have full confidence in the ability of the Arts work-engine to handle this
situation.

2.p Bill Shorten will be attending the next FRC meeting on Monday 8th March. This is the monthly
meeting also attended by representatives from VBRRA, MSC and DHS.
3.p Ric brought up that monies received from the Aboriginal Fund donated by a community in the
Northern Territory (via Peter Byrne), be distributed through the Community House and spent on
arts supplies by Sharon Collins, Convenor of the Arts Precinct Work Engine.

4.p Julie: Received an email from Chrissy Grant. Read email requesting the Flowerdale Kinder have
five minutes of time at the Flowerdale Forum II. Email also requested that the toilet facilities in
the Flowerdale Temporary Kindergarten be expanded and that the Flowerdale Fund monies be
used for this purpose. The FRC will pass our concerns on to the Donations Co-ordinator, who
has informed us that, since this email has been received a cheque in excess of $3000 is to be
immediately forwarded to the Flowerdale Kindergarten Committee.

5.p Pete: Pete has been working with Mahoney Keenly who has been working in Kinglake for Fire
Recovery, & has also been involved in the ƐReturn of the Sacred KingfisherƑ Festival (CERES).
Working around the idea of engaging FPS kids in being involved in this festival as apart of
Recovery, both in pre-festival art activities and being part of the Festival. Pete requested that
the FRC endorse the writing of a letter from the FRC to support this activity. Pete to investigate
the prospect of other children, who do not attend Flowerdale PS, be involved in the Sacred
Kingfisher Project

6.p Judy spoke to Steve Gore re assessment of Community Safe Place. Initial assessment by CFA to
establish the meeting of relevant criteria, then passes to a second phase of assessment.

7.p Julie Service Agency Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 02.03.2010.

MEETING CLOSED: 1055 PM
