How Has Technology Affected Your Life?

Technology is an essential need in everybody's life. Without technology, many things would not
be able to materialize. As for me, technology has made my life more enjoyable and easy.
One of the useful products of technology would be the television. Usually, my family would sit
together in the living room to watch television programmes together after dinner. During this
time, we would occasionally talk about the shows that are being broadcasted. This allows my
family to interact with each other more often.
In the twenty-first century, one of the most important technologies would be the Internet. The
Internet is a system, which allows people to communicate globally. I personally use the Internet
on a daily basis and find it useful in many ways. Few examples would be, Internet mailing
(email), instant messaging, online shopping and online gaming. With the Internet, I am able to
keep close contact with my aunt who has migrated to France. I often receive mails from her
about how she is doing over in France. Online gaming is also another big part of my life. When I
play games over the Internet, I am able to make friends with people from other countries.
Another part of technology in my life would be the mobile technology. In the olden days, people
who wanted to communicate with their relatives in far away places would have only two choices.
One was to personally take the trouble to travel to their relatives' place and another would be
via sending letters. Both ways needed huge amount of time. With mobile technology, people's
lives are made easier as they can contact each other anywhere and anytime they want to. I
personally have a mobile phone too and it has become more than a necessity in my life.
With the mobile phone, I am able to contact my parents anytime I want, to ensure safety, chat
with my friends for long hours and make phone calls as and when I like. As the mobile industry
is developing rapidly, mobile phones have now become not just a means of... [continues]

How Does Technology Affect Family Life.

Technology has affected every part of family life. We are spending more time in doors than we
are outside. The time spent on the computer, watching TV etc.. is about 8 hours a day. This time
is usually spent alone and not with the rest of the family.
With all the technology we have nowadays we don't need to get out of the house anymore, you
can do everything from the comfort of your home. Almost everything revolves around technology
now. What do most people do when they come back from school? They usually go watch TV, go
on the computer or something else like that. People take all of this for granted, what would they
do if there was a power cut and they couldn't watch TV or go on the computer? Most people
would just laze about doing nothing until the power came back on. Not many would pick up a
book or do any of the things they would have done when none of these things were round.

Technology has cut into the time you spend with your family not the other way round. We spend
less and

how technology affects my life

Try imagining your life without technology. Without alarm clocks, refrigerators, computers,
telephones and so on. It would be very different from what we are accustomed to today. The
truth is, all of us rely on technology a great deal to get through the day. Whether it's at work,
at home, or at school, I know my family depends greatly on technology. Without technology
our lives would all be much different. My sisters and I use technology at school a lot. We are
always on the computers doing research and typing papers. As a student, I am in

The Effect of Technology on My Life

: I think its good for speaking

I roll around on my bed, tossing and turning. The blare from my alarm clock deafens my right ear, and I
quickly throw an arm over to it and slam on the snooze button. It is 6 o'clock in the morning, and already
technology has affected my life. I fall to my feet and walk towards the showers. Another form
of technology is about to take over my life. Well, at least for the next ten to 20 minutes.

The alarm clock, running water, these are only two of the millions of examples of technology I will
encounter today. I place technology into two, well, three basic categories: Informative, which helps us
obtain and use information, Communicative, which includes language, signs, and the like, and that help
us communicate with each other, and Useful, such as electricity and running water. These are the things
that make our lives easier and help us get through the day to day. Also, there are those things that we are
taught. I believe that learning, such as being racist, is a technology. Okay, so I have four categories, all
right? Education and Learning is the fourth. I believe this because you are not born a racist, you're your
environment and those you are around teach you to be that way. Also, it ties in to other forms of
technology. Like, when you're a baby, you can't speak, so you have no way to communicate how you fell.
But as you grow older, you learn language that you hear being spoken around you. You slowly pick up on

the words and phrases used to express desires and thoughts. This is learning and teaching as
technology.

This "story" is about how my life is affected by technology, and so I got to thinking: What better way to
explain this than to take you (the reader) on a journey through a typical day in my life? Here we go.

I've already woken up, and taken my shower, and now I trudge back to my room to get ready for my
classes. I turn on my lamp (technology), without which I couldn't put on my make-up. I turn on the
television (technology) and flip through the channels to see if there is anything on that could possibly
wake me up. I find nothing intriguing, so I turn to Animal Planet. That always works. After I put on my
clothes and socks and shoes, I decide to chill for a minute and grab my lighter (technology) and sit in the
window (technology) for a quick nic-fix.

I grab me keys and run out the door when I hear the tower clock (technology) chime (technology). I
have to lock (technology) the door because my roommate isn't here. I run through the hallways of my
building and leap towards the Humanities Building (technology). I am late for English. I sit down at a
computer (technology) and check my email (technology) while the professor babbles something about
some paper (technology) we have due today. So how do I explain to him that my computer disc
(technology) on which I had saved my paper somehow was involved in the worst traffic accident in the
history of Earth? I don't think he's biting. Que sera, sera.

I exit the building and walk to my next class: Anthropology (technology). I sit in the chairs (technology)
and watch as Dr. P. lowers the overhead screen (technology) and turns on the digital video player thingy
(technology, technology, technology). We are watching a video on chimps and how they use... you
guessed it: TECHNOLOGY! Isn't that just swell? They use twigs as tools for getting insects and logs and
rocks for cracking nuts. They are just cruising up the evolutionary ladder, aren't they?

After I wake, I mean, get up, I go to get some lunch in the Student Center. I decide on Subway. I think
I'll have a steak n' cheese. The guy behind the counter pulls a small tray of pepper-steak out of the

refrigerator (technology) and sticks it into the microwave (technology) so that it's not as cold as my
roommate when she's in a bad mood. Gee, I hope she doesn't read this! I sit in the "coral" and eat my
sloppy, less than appetizing sandwich and inhale a plastic, cylindrical container of a sugar filled
carbonated beverage, other wise known as Pepsi. The three guys who do the radio station (technology)
are blaring Gwar, or some other random head banging music, but no one really listens.

After finishing my lovely lunch, I head off to my history class, where I will learn about the cultures and
technologies of early civilizations. I sit back and watch as Dr.W. puts an overhead (technology)
transparency (technology) up so we can see the kingdom of the ancient Greeks. Finally, something I can
get in to.

This class goes quick and I have only one left before I have to get ready for work. I hurdle up the
stairs of Humanities again and head towards my favorite class, Spanish (technology). I walk through the
door and Sra. B. is already speaking (technology) rapidly in Spanish about today's lesson. I quickly sit
down. She looks up at me, slightly upset, and goes back to her lesson. She gibbers something about a
video (technology) and she puts it in the television (technology). We watch the film for about five minutes
and then she says something about a pop-quiz. Oh no, not those two words! I can't believe this!

I trudge out of the room after class and back to my room for a much-deserved nap. I lie down, close
my eyes, and my roommate bursts through the door like a bat out of Hell! I really want to shoot
(technology) her right now! However, I think of the results of that and decide that I should just get up and
go for a short walk. That will wake me up. I didn't know when I walked out of my dorm door that I was
going to be harassed by an idiot who thinks they're special because they drive a BMW (technology). They
honk (technology) at me furiously as I attempt to cross the street.

"Hey!" I yell at the top of my lungs, "I have the right of way! Do you not see that little sign (technology)
over there that says 'Walk'?" Now I'm really... uh, steamed! I hate (technology) people.

I return to my room to change into my work uniform. As I tie my shoes, I realize that I only have ten

minutes to get there, or I am going to get yelled at by Mister Mikey, as I like to call him. He has no idea of
how horrible my day has been, and I don't think he really cares, either. I grab his swipe-card thing
(technology) and put my name into the register (technology) and get out the drawer so I can count my
money (technology). I really dislike this place with a burning passion. I look up at the monitor (technology)
and see that someone has just ordered 7 Grande Combos. I guess that's my fault too, huh?

Seven hours pass and I finally get to go home. My roommate isn't there so I might actually get to
sleep tonight, something I haven't done in a couple of days. At around 12:35 a.m., my aunt decides to call
me (technology) and ask me how my day was. It takes all of my energy not to yell at her. When we hang
up, I die and go to Dreamland. Hallelujah! Amen.

As you can very well see, everything I did today required technology in some way, shape, or form from using computers to my Spanish class. The whole world seems to revolve around that ten-letter-word.
As a means of communication, as a means of gathering information, or as a way to make life easier,
everyone uses technology everyday. Technology, not money, makes the world go round, and we are
powerless to stop it. That's why it is so important to teach the next generation about it, and help them
learn about this marvel of modern society. In order to function in the world, you must have at least the
very basic knowledge of how to communicate and find what you are looking for. Otherwise, you're just a
lost ball in high weeds.

How technology affects your life?

In: Home & Garden [Edit categories]

Answer:
It affects my life quite a lot as I use a tv,phone,a desktop,my xbox,an iPod,my laptop,my
wii,my docking station,my remote for the tv,even my alarm clock is used because we
have the technology im even answering this question because of technology.

It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has

exceeded our humanity said the physician Albert Einstein. Since
the 1980s, technology is used daily by the majority of the
population. It has become the first source of information all around

the world. Moreover, an increasing number of youths become addict

to all kind of gadgets and it becomes worrying. While in most
instances a majority of people think that technology is here to help
them make their life better, this concept is controversial for many
reasons. To begin with, I believe it interferes human relationships.
Furthermore, technology leads them to the incapacity to think by
themselves, and finally we will observe the health effects on human.
First and foremost, there are multiple negative effects of technology
on human, but the most frightening is that it interferes on human
relationships. In fact, nowadays there is less and less
communication between people. They do not talk as much as they
used to, and when they do it is mostly non-verbally. There are many
reasons why this phenomenon is happening. First of all, the major
cause is that technology has become fashionable. Fashion is among
humans life because it is innate that people follow it. So when
technology becomes fashion, and when it is necessary to be up to
date, people follow the trend. Plus, technology has become very
useful on a daily basis, and humans being are always looking for the
easiest and the more convenient way to do their work. For example,
if a student has to do a research paper on Adolf Hitler, he only has
to type his name on Google and all the information that he or she
needs are going to appear on the screen. No need to go to the
library and look for a book of Hitlers biography. Thus, youths will not
use their capacities to think and find information by themselves.
Because internet is now available on every cell phone, if people
have something in mind, for instance if they are looking for a good

Technology and How It Affects Your Life
In my opinion, technology changed our life into a simple and easy situation without
question. As technology is becoming more advanced than ever, most of the products
are designed to make our life more convenient. This paper will focus on the
integration of Global Positioning System (GPS) as an Information System (IS)
technology. My interest in GPS comes from the fact that it is a technology exploding
with potential. GPS is a technology that has the potential to do good for our society,
and is an important topic to research and examine.

Many things in life are centered on trying to make everything more efficient.
Technology does a lot to make things in life easier, faster, and more efficient. This is
so we can do more things, in a shorter amount of time, expending the least amount of
physical and mental energy possible. For example, the GPS (Global Positioning
System) is an amazing invention. It is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed
from a constellation of 24 satellites and their ground stations. I am one of those people
GPS was invented for, my sense of direction is terrible, and I get lost all the time. So
when GPS came along, I was thanking my lucky stars. After using GPS for a short
time, I found my sense of direction was worse. If I failed to have it with me, I was
even more lost then before.
Although technology has made my life simpler, our brain still needs exercise as well.
If we stop using our problem-solving skills, our logical skills and our cognitive skillshow do you expect your brain to improve. Think about modern conveniences that are
helpful, but when relied on too much, can hurt your skill in that domain. Translation
software: amazing, but my multilingual skills have declined, since I started using it
more. Ive now forced myself to struggle through translations before I look up the
correct format. Same goes for spell-check and autocorrect, it will catch our mistakes,
so you go right along,...
Good: Essay for the topic title:
These days, technologies are very popular in our society, and they are making our life
better. The question is which technology in the fifty years has changed my life the most.
From my point of view, I believe that the Internet has changed my life the most because of
the following reasons.
First of all, the Internet has helped me well in contacting with my family and friends. I am
from Vietnam, but now I am studying in Thailand for the master course. That means I am
far from my family and friends. Sometimes, I feel homesick and desire to go home to meet
them, but it is difficult for me because of the full schedule of studying. By using the
Internet, I find it easy to connect with them, especially with Skype. I not only chat with
them, but also see their faces. That is great for me, so I can concentrate on studying with
less homesickness. The Internet really makes me feel closer to my family.
The Internet is also good for my research. I am now doing the graduating thesis about the
watermarking algorithms using wavelet and DCT. Finding the articles and the research

papers relating it on the Internet is so easy and fast. Only by typing DCT and Wavelet
Watermarking, there are more than 2,000 good websites with much related information
show to me. If there was no the Internet, I would have to find them in the libraries;
however, it will take me a lot of time. By using the Internet, I can save time, so I can
complete the thesis in time.
Finally, the Internet helps me meet other scientists from around the world easily. Last
months, I had some problems in implementing these algorithms using FPGA chips. I wrote
emails to Prof. Lee from the university of California and to Prof. Smith from the university of
Texas about these problems. After a while, I received the reply emails from them. They
suggested to me a lot of good solutions for my problems. If it were not for the Internet, I
would have to write letters or go to meet them. This will take me a lot of time and money.
So using the internet is easy and cheap for me to meet scientists and share ideas.
All in all, I believe that the Internet has changed my life the most because it helps me stay
in contacting with my family and friends, it is good for my research, and it is easy to share
ideas and save money. How has the Internet changed your life?

HOW HAS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CHANGED MY LIFE ?

Information Technology has emerged as a scientific discipline out of research & development
activities in the fields of technology, data base technology, software technology, video technology
and communication technology, and is fast becoming an integral part of everyday life.
It is mostly exciting to communicate with people on the far corners of the globe very quickly and
cheaply and occasionally.
Now, in a span of a few years, we have developed so many telecommunications devices, using such
advanced and complex technology. Some excellent examples are fax, which helps us to send
documents and letters across the world in mere seconds.
A relative new comer on the block is the Internet. Two 'parts' of the Internet, E-mail and IRC have
become a part of my daily routine.
Email or electronic mail is the new, sleek and fast version of Real-Mail. It is extremely fast, reliable
and secure.

Internet Relay Chat, which is a more active form of communication is also an indispensable part of
my life.
I am now in touch with lot of my kith and kin on a daily basis, which was not possible earlier. I have
forged and maintained many a friendships and relationships

Essay on technology has change peoples live for better?

Over the years as technology keeps improving, more and more people are using it in their lives.
Technology has become a significant matter in all our lives. Though some are addicted to it, others
only using it once in a while, but still we all have used it at least once. Thankfully we have technology
which makes our lives easier. But is technology really a change for the better.
Firstly I believe The improvement of technology is helping the way we live and is making our lives a
lot easier, for example if we did not have a computer to type our letters or assignments we would
have to write it out with our hands and if it is messy you have to write it again you can't rub it out, that
would mean we would have to work very hard just to write a letter or a story. Also we could not have
joy in our lives for example the TV or the air conditioner. Statistics show that there are over
238,000,000 people who watch television each day and night.
Secondly with technology it saves our time and that also means we can spend less time on
unimportant things instead and spend more time on important things. For example now days we
have a cooker which means you light it then cook your food, but in the old days they would have to
find wood then start a fire then they could cook their food. So the cooker is one piece of technology
which makes our lives easier.
Some may say that you cannot always rely on technology and that is correct. For example say you
have to do a project and print it out and then suddenly your computer shuts down and you forgot to
save, you would have to start from scratch. Statistics show that in the Australasian area with a
population of 34,700,201 people. 21,263,990 people use the internet, and if the internet crashes
21,263,990 people are let down, and this is just in Australia and Asia imagine the world. So can the
internet really be trusted.
In all I believe Technology is helping all of mankind and without it our lives would be much harder
and more boring.

IELTS Writing Task 2: 'technology' essay

Several people have asked me about this question from Cambridge IELTS 8. I wrote the
essay below with the help of some of my students. A few simple linking features are
highlighted.

Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has changed because of
technology.
In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships that people
make? Has this been a positive or negative development?
It is true that new technologies have had an influence on communication between
people. Technology has affected relationships in various ways, and in my opinion there
are both positive and negative effects.
Technology has had an impact on relationships in business, education and social
life. Firstly, telephones and the Internet allow business people in different countries to
interact without ever meeting each other. Secondly, services like Skype create new
possibilities for relationships between students and teachers. For example, a student
can now take video lessons with a teacher in a different city or country. Finally, many
people use social networks, like Facebook, to make new friends and find people who
share common interests, and they interact through their computers rather than face to
face.
On the one hand, these developments can be extremely positive. Cooperation between
people in different countries was much more difficult when communication was limited to
written letters or telegrams. Nowadays, interactions by email, phone or video are almost
as good as face-to-face meetings, and many of us benefit from these interactions, either
in work or social contexts. On the other hand, the availability of new communication
technologies can also have the result of isolating people and discouraging real
interaction. For example, many young people choose to make friends online rather than
mixing with their peers in the real world, and these virtual relationships are a poor
substitute for real friendships.
In conclusion, technology has certainly revolutionised communication between people,
but not all of the outcomes of this revolution have been positive.
