Statement

of Objectives

Mi interest in science dates back to my years in school, where I excelled in

physics, math and chemistry. When I was ten years old, my father took me with him to
flight the Cessna 182. After twenty minutes of flight, we landed. Since then, I have
wanted to learn how airplanes flight. It seemed only logical that I pursue a career in
aerospace engineering. I began my Aerospace Engineering career at San Francisco
University in Ecuador. At San Francisco University I studied the first three years of
engineering where I took the general engineering courses. Afterwards, I transferred to
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, finishing the Bachelors in Aerospace
Engineering. During the time studying at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I had
the opportunity to be exposed to the full range of engineering courses, all of which
reinforce my interest in engineering. I am glad that I was not mistaken when I chose to
study Aerospace Engineering.

Through my time at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I have been involved
in projects of different course subjects. I have developed a special interest in the field of
dynamics and control. During the developing of the project of the course flight dynamics
and control, that consisted in designing and implementing autopilots and control laws to
improve aircraft performance I learned about its many practical applications. During
this summer I have been working on a project using unmanned aerial vehicles,
specifically quad copters. By working on these projects, I realized that I like to work
with unmanned aerial control systems. My plans following my graduation are to move
directly into graduate studies toward my masters degree. Developing my skills as a
graduate student can improve my possibilities of finding a job in the aerospace industry
and possibly seek a PHD degree in the future. Later I would like to work in the area of
research and development for private industry.

With the experience obtained at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the
experience made during the summer, I have redefined my future goals as an aerospace
engineer. I feel that the knowledge and skills learned during my previous years helped
me to gather the right tools to continue with the graduate level studies. Becoming a
Masters student will help me to be an expert in my profession, and lead to possibly new
developments within the Aerospace industry.
