Setting Instructions for threaded rods / rebars

1.

Drill hole into base material with hammer drill to size and
embedment required by the selected anchor
('Installation Parameters for threaded rods & rebars')

2.

In case of standing water in the bore hole, water has to be removed.

Starting from back of anchor hole, blow the hole clean a
minimum of two times. Brush the hole with an appropriate
sized wire brush a minimum of two times and then blow the hole
clean again a minimum of two times. Vaccuming only is not sufficient.
Holes should be clean & sound.

3.

Attach a supplied static mixing nozzle to the cartridge and load

the cartridge into the dispensing tool.
For every working interruption longer than the recommended
working time and new cartridges, a new mixing nozzle is to be used.

4.

Prior to inserting the anchor rod into the filled bore hole, the
position of the embedment depth has to be marked on the
anchor rods.

5.

Prior to dispensing into the anchor hole, squeeze out separately,

a minimum three full stroke, and discard non-uniformly mixed
adhesive components until the mortar shows a consistent grey
color.

6.

Fill the cleaned hole approximately two-thirds full with mortar

starting from the bottom or back of the anchor hole. Slowly
withdraw static mixing nozzle to avoid air pockets. For
embedments > 200 mm, a 9 mm dia extension nozzle shall be used.
(Refer to the working & full cure times given in the TDS.)

7.

Push the threaded rod or rebar into the anchor hole while turning
slightly to ensure positive distribution of the mortar until embedment
depth is reached. Air pockets are existent when the threaded rods
springs or air pockets burst during installation. In case of air pockets,
remove rod prior to hardening, after hardening, redrill the hole and repeat
installation. The anchor should be free of dirt, grease, oil or other foreign
material.

8.

Be sure that the anchor is pushed all the way to the back of the hole
and that slight excess of the mortar must be visible from the
outside of the hole. (Excess indicates that the hole is sufficiently filled)
If excess is not visible, the application has to be renewed.

9.

Allow the adhesive to cure to the specified time prior to applying

any load. Do not disturb or load the anchor until it is fully cured.
(Refer to the working & full cure times given in the TDS.)

10.

10

After full cure, the add-on part could be installed with the maximum
recommended torque via a calibrated torque wrench.
