GENERAL SCROUNGIN'
The second way scroungers can look for valuables is to simply do a general
search for items of value. The items you find are obviously more random this way, but
there's a better chance of coming away with something.
What can be found depends on the terrain being looked in, simply consult the
appropriate terrain table. The results from that table will direct how to go about this.
Times and TN's will be dealt with on each terrain table.

* - Typical Raider Armor is composed of spikes, chains and menacing iconography or fetishes. If a waster
has both the helmet and armor on, the Overawe bonus is cumulative.
** - Junk Armor is scratch-built from wasters by road signs, rebar and whatever metal plates or sheets they
can get their hands on. No two sets look alike and while they provide good protection they have a
reputation for being rickety. Anytime someone wearing a Junk Helmet or Armor is attacked and all the
damage dice from the attack come up as an Ace, the armor has been stressed and a few pieces of Junk get
knocked off. This lowers the AV in that location by one level. (Light armor reductions go from -4 to -2 to

When a vehicle is scrounged the type and condition must be determined. Once scavenged vehicle type is
determined, apply component modifications from condition table, if any, to see what can be harvested from
the vehicle. Scavenging components from a wreck requires a Hard (9) Tinkerin' roll and 30 minutes plus 5
minutes per component recovered. On a failure only half components are found (round down fractions). If
condition table shows 0 for component type it means there are none present. An intact vehicle is the
player's choice, though it's still out of fuel. Components are always listed Mechanical-Structural-ElectricalChemical in order.
