Goal
The goal of this course is to provide a broad understanding of wireless communication theory. In this course, we discuss the broad overview of communication theory and presents some error correcting techniques for reliable
transmission.

Get some thoeratical knowledge about the system design and analysis of
basic communication system.
Learn about the working and relationship of wireless communication, signal processing and coding techniques.
Learn how to design and analyse the system over different parameters.

Wireless Communication
Introduction, Radio environment for WLAN applications, Review of free
space radio propagation, Link budget analysis, Coverage area, outage
probability, Review of basics modultaion properties and techniques, Direct sequence spread spectrum, FHSS, OFDM, Diversity and Rake receiver.
Communication Theory
Introduction, Random processes, Source coding techniques, Huffman
codes, Digital modulation methods, Optimum receivers for AWGN channels, Maximum likelihood and MAP detectors, BER performance, Information Theory, Mutual information and channel capacity.
Channel Coding
Introduction, Mathematical basics, Block codes, Iterative decoding, LDPC
codes.
