Economy
Poverty is the defining issue in all too many areas across our
nation, both urban and rural. Broadband internet can be part of a solution to this
problem, but only Congress and the FCC take decisive action to ensure universal
access.
The world is changing, and increasingly, having access to the internet, and
knowing how to use it, determines who stands to benefit from the new
economy, and who is left behind.
• The internet has become essential to our reason for this is the affordability of
daily lives in countless ways - from access.

retirement, completing a homework • Of the 37 percent of U.S. adults that don’t

The exclusion of millions of people from the defining technology of our times rests
on some very old divides. Lack of access today far too often reflects the
persistence of poverty and segregation.

La pobreza es un problema definidor en demasiadas zonas
de nuestra nación, tanto urbanas como rurales. El internet de banda ancha puede
ser una parte de la solución a este problema, pero sólo si el Congreso y la FCC
toman medidas decisivas para garantizar el acceso universal.
El mundo está cambiando, y cada vez más, tener acceso al internet, y saber
cómo utilizarlo, determina quién puede beneficiarse de la nueva economía, y
