Installation Guide for the Stand-Alone Version of

IE3D/FIDELITY/MDSPICE/COCAFIL/MTRAN
Before you install the software, please first read the accompanying license or evaluation agreement for the terms of using the
software. This is the installation guide for the stand-alone version. If you are installing IE3D/FIDELITY/MDSPICE/COCAFIL
network version, you need to follow special installation guide for the network version.

Requirements:
A computer with Intel i386 compatible CPU is required. Intel Pentium II, III and 4, or AMD Atholon or later CPU is strongly
recommended; MS-Windows 95, 98, ME, NT or 2000 is required; 16M RAM is required for IE3D, MDSPICE and/or
COCAFIL. 32 M RAM is required for FIDELITY. More is strongly recommended; At least 17 monitor with 1024 by 768
resolution and 32K color is required for FIDELITY.

Installation Procedures:
(1). If you are running Windows NT/2000, please login as administrator. It is required for installation of the security driver. If
you are running Windows 95, 98 or ME, you can get to Step 2.
(2). Run the SETUP.EXE in the IE3DandFIDELITY directory on the CD. Please select NEXT until you are prompted for
TYPICAL or CUSTOM installation.
(3). The CD includes IE3D, FIDELITY, MDSPICE, COCAFIL and MTRAN. You have the option to choose whether you want
to install the IE3D or FIDELITY or both. The MDSPICE, COCAFIL and MTRAN will be installed into your system when
you choose either the IE3D or the FIDELITY. MTRAN is semi-integrated with IE3D. The DOCUMENTS group includes
the users manuals for the IE3D, FIDELITY, MDSPICE and COCAFIL. For the items you do not need, you can delete them
after the installation. You are suggested to install the items you have the licenses. Anyway, the extra items will not work.
Please choose CUSTOM installation and choose the correct groups for your installation.

(4). For Windows NT/2000 users, in the last dialog, you have the choice to install the driver automatically. If you believe you
have the driver installed, you should un-check the box for not re-installing the driver. Otherwise, you should select FINISH
to get the driver installed. If you select installing the driver, you may need to restart your computer to let the driver take into
effective. If you select no installation for the driver, you can try to use the software immediately after the installation. In case
you can not start the ZELAND license, you should take the following step to check the driver installation.
(5). Any time, if you want to check whether the driver is installed correct, on Windows NT, please select START\SETTINGS\
CONTROL PANEL\MULTIMEDIA\DEVICES\OTHER MULTIMEDIA DEVICES. On Windows 2000, please select
START\ SETTINGS\CONTROL PANEL\ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS\COMPUTER MANAGEMENT\SYSTEM TOOLS\
SYSTEM INFORMATION\SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT\DRIVERS. Please make sure you see the Sentinel in the list. If
you do not see it, it means that the driver is not installed properly. Please make sure its status on Windows NT is Started or
its state on Windows 2000 is Running. You should run ZELAND PROGRAM MANAGER (ZELAND.EXE). Then, select
the Install Driver in File menu to install the driver. If you still can not install the driver, you should run the
SETUPX86.EXE in SENTINEL directory of your installation directory to install the directory. On Windows NT, you can
also check more information in START\SETTINGS\CONTROL PANEL\MULTIMEDIA\DEVICES\OTHER
MULTIMEDIA DEVICES\ Sentinel for i386 System. Double click it and select Settings. It will show the Sentinel Drivers
information to you. Please make sure the Physical Address is 378 and the Port Type is IBM AT.
