ELEMENTARE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN
1. Vergewissern Sie sich vor jeder Handhabung, dass
Ihre Waffe nicht geladen ist.
2. Bewahren Sie Ihre Waffe immer mit der Sicherung
in Position gesichert auf, wenn Sie sie nicht nutzen,

ELEMENTARY SAFETY RULES

1. Before handling, always check that your rifle is not
loaded.
2. Always keep your rifle with the safety in the ON
safe position when you are not firing, even if you are
sure that the gun is not loaded.
3. Never point your rifle at anybody, even if you are
certain that it is not loaded.
4. Never fire without knowing exactly where the point
of impact is located. Only shoot downwards towards a
target with a solid background.
Watch out for ricochets: Never shoot at water or
rocks. Be especially careful when shooting on hard or
frozen ground.
5. Only use ammunition of the calibre marked on the
right-hand side of your gun barrel not only for safety
reasons, but also for ballistic performance.
6. In your own interests, as well as those of your rifle,
never let any foreign body enter the barrel. Earth,
snow, etc can create dangerous overpressures.
7. Always unload your rifle when it is not in use and
during transport.
8. Always use a gun lock when you put your gun away.

Wir beglckwnschen Sie zu Ihrer Wahl, die Bchse BAR
Zenith ist die neueste Generation von Browning Selbstladebchsen.
Die Bchse BAR Zenith , die Sie erworben haben, gehrt
zu der breiten Produktreihe der Browning Produkte.
Ihr Prinzip beruht auf der Benutzung eines Teils der
Energie der Verbrennungsgase, um den Selbstlade-Funktionszyklus zu gewhrleisten.
Ihre BAR Zenith Bchse ist das Ergebnis von ber 40
Jahren Erfahrung von Browning mit Selbstladebchsen.
Wenn ihr perfektes Gleichgewicht auch im wesentlichen
von der klugen Verteilung der Massen in Bewegung herrhrt, so ist es doch das Betriebssystem durch Gaszufuhr,
dass ihr eine auerordentliche Sanftheit an der Schulter
verleiht.
Der kalt gehmmerte Lauf in Verbindung mit der Verriegelung mit 7 Warzen verleiht Ihrer Bchse eine unvergleichliche Przision.
Die Funktionsweise Ihrer BAR Zenith ist im Werk mit
einer breiten Auswahl an Patronen vom europischen
Markt getestet worden.
JEDOCH WURDE DIE PRZISION IHRER
BAR ZENITH AUSSCHLIELICH MIT WINCHESTER MUNITION EINGESTELLT, DEREN
BENUTZUNG WIR IHNEN EMPFEHLEN.
FUNKTIONSWEISE
Das extrem einfache Funktionsprinzip basiert auf der
Umleitung eines Teils der Verbrennungsgase zu einem
Kolben. Unter dem Druck dieser Gase weicht der Kolben
zurck, drckt die beweglichen Teile (Riegel und Gewehrschloss) zum hinteren Teil der Waffe und bewirkt die
ffnung des Mechanismus und den Auswurf der Hlse.
Unter dem Druck der Rekuperatorfeder wird die Gewehrschloss-Riegel-Baugruppe wieder nach vorn geholt
und zieht eine neue Patrone in die Kammer.
Eine originelle Eigenschaft der Bchse liegt in ihrem System mit Drehverriegelung: die Warzen des Riegels sttzen
sich auf die Wand des Laufes, und der Riegel bildet mit
ihm einen starren Komplex, der die Przision der Bchse
begnstigt. (Abb. 1)
Der Selbstladebetrieb Ihrer Bchse ermglicht es, Schuss
fr Schuss die im Magazin enthaltenen Patronen zu verschieen. Wenn die letzte Patrone ausgeworfen worden
ist, bleibt das Gewehrschloss unter der Wirkung der
Gleitschieneneinstellung offen.

Um die beweglichen Teile nach vorn zu bringen, einfach

die Gleitschieneneinstellung senken (Abb. 2). Aus offensichtlichen Sicherheitsgrnden nicht die Finger in die
Auswurfffnung stecken.
Abgesehen von ihrem strengen mechanischen Konzept
nach den hoch entwickeltsten Fertigungstechniken bietet Ihnen die BAR Zenith folgende Besonderheiten:
- eine ergonomische Gleitschieneneinstellung, die das Laden und Entladen erleichtert;
- eine przise Einstellung des Gaszufuhrsystems, die
es Ihrem Waffenhndler ermglicht, die Bchse an die
gewhlte Munition anzupassen;
- ein spezifisches Gestnge- und Massensystem, das ein
einwandfreies Funktionieren mit den verschiedenen
benutzten Munitionen gewhrleistet;
- ein Anti-Rcksto-Kolbenboden;
- ein System zur Einstellung der Neigung und Abbiegung
des Schaftes, das eine perfekte Abstimmung zwischen der
Waffe und dem Jger ermglicht;
- ein Verrieglungsanzeiger (roter Punkt) im Auswurffenster, der es ermglicht, auf einen Blick zu berprfen, ob
die Bchse verriegelt ist;
- an die Anforderungen des Jgers angepasste Visierungen.
EMPFEHLUNGEN
Ihre Bchse ist Ihnen gerade geliefert worden. Zum
Schutz gegen Korrosion haben wir die Auen- und Innenflchen des Laufes geschmiert; wenn Sie es fr sinnvoll halten, wischen Sie das berschssige l mit einem
weichen, sauberen und trockenen Tuch ab.
Bevor Sie Ihre erste Patrone abschieen, ist es unbedingt
notwendig, die Bohrung des Laufes sorgfltig zu reinigen:
sie muss trocken sein, um einen berdruck und Abweichungen im Einschlagpunkt zu vermeiden. Fhren Sie
einen Reinigungsstab mit einem Stck Flanell durch die
Mndung in den Lauf ein.
MUNITION
Benutzen Sie keine andere Munition als diejenige des Kalibers, das auf der rechten Seite des Laufes steht. Prfen
Sie jede Patrone, die Sie in Ihre Feuerwaffe einfhren.
Benutzen Sie nur zuverlssige handelsbliche Patronen
des exakten Kalibers Ihrer Waffe. Das Kaliber ist in die
rechte Seite des Laufes sowie in die Rckseite des Magazins
eingraviert. Wir haben Ihre Bchse mit den notwendigen
Sicherheitskoeffizienten entworfen und gefertigt, jedoch
lehnt Browning im Falle der Beschdigung aufgrund der
Benutzung von Patronen, die einen bermigen Druck
erzeugen oder die nicht den CIP- oder SAAMI-Normen
entsprechen, jede Verantwortung ab. Browning empfiehlt

die Benutzung von Winchester Patronen.
NUMMERIERUNG UND MARKIERUNG
Die Seriennummer Ihrer Bchse ist in die linke Seite des
Gehuses eingeprgt. Das Kaliber steht auf der rechten
Seite des Laufes sowie auf der Rckseite des Magazins.

6. Schlieen Sie die schwenkbare Halterung des Magazins wieder oder fhren Sie das Kippmagazin bis zum
Einrasten ein.
N.B. Die Grundversionen knnen je nach den in jedem
Land gltigen Gesetzen variieren. Je nach Gesetzgebung
kann das Magazin nicht herausnehmbar und nicht umwandelbar werden.

TECHNISCHE SPEZIFKATIONEN
SICHERUNG
Die Sicherung Ihrer Bchse ist von querliegendem Typ.
Sie befindet sich im Abzugsbgel, hinter dem Abzug.
Die groe Flche und ihr Knopf macht ihre Handhabung
leicht. Wenn sie nach rechts gedrckt wird (Abb. 3), ist
die Waffe gesichert, der Abzug blockiert. Wird sie nach
links gedrckt, erscheint ein roter Streifen:
Die Waffe ist ungesichert, bereit zum Schieen.
Gewhnen Sie sich an, Ihre Waffe immer in gesicherter Position zu lassen, ob sie geladen ist oder nicht. Lsen Sie die Sicherung erst in dem Moment, in dem Sie
schieen wollen.
LADEN
Ihre Bchse ist mit einem herausnehmbaren Magazin
ausgestattet, das auf einer schwenkbaren oder nicht herausnehmbaren Halterung befestigt oder mit einem Einsteckmagazin (Abb. 4) gem der in jedem Land gltigen
Gesetzgebung ausgestattet ist.
Dieses Magazin hat ein Ladevermgen, das ebenfalls direkt an die in jedem Land gltigen Gesetze gebunden ist.
Eine zuvor in die Kammer eingefhrte zustzliche Patrone erhht das Gesamt-Ladevermgen Ihrer Waffe.
Zum Laden Ihrer Waffe empfehlen wir Ihnen:
1. Halten Sie beim Laden Ihrer Bchse die Laufmndung
immer in eine ungefhrliche Richtung, stellen Sie die Sicherung immer in Position gesichert und halten Sie die
Finger vom Abzug fern.
ffnen Sie den Mechanismus und vergewissern Sie sich,
dass Ihre Bchse vollstndig entladen ist. Gehen Sie wie
folgt vor :
2. Werfen Sie das Magazin aus der Bchse aus, indem
Sie den Magazinbodenverschluss hinten am Magazin mit
dem Zeigefinger nach hinten ziehen. Das Magazin fllt in
Ihre Hand oder schwenkt. (Abbildung 5).
3. ffnen Sie das Gewehrschloss bis zum Einrasten (Verschlussstopp)
und fhren Sie eine Patrone in die Kammer ein.
4. Geben Sie das Gewehrschloss frei, indem Sie den Haltehebel nach unten drcken (Abb.2).
5. Legen Sie ein volles Magazin auf die schwenkbare Halterung oder fllen Sie das leere Magazin auf.

Die Bchse ist jetzt schubereit, indem Sie einfach die

Sicherung in die Position entsichert stellen und den
Abzug bettigen.
Auswechseln des Magazins bei den Versionen mit
schwenkbarer Halterung.
Um ein leeres Magazin herauszunehmen, nehmen Sie bei
offener Magazinhalterung die Seitenwnde des Magazins
zwischen Daumen und Mittelfinger und drcken Sie mit
dem Zeigefinger auf den hinteren Rand der schwenkbaren Halterung. Das Magazin lst sich ohne Anstrengung
aus seiner Halterung. Um ein volles Magazin auf die Halterung zu platzieren, fhren Sie die Spitze der vorderen
Wand in die entsprechende ffnung der schwenkbaren
Halterung ein und drcken Sie das Magazin fest auf seine
Halterung (Abb. 6).
Wenn Sie nicht ber ein zweites Magazin verfgen oder
wenn das Magazin fest ist, knnen Sie das Magazin der
Waffe wie in Abb. 7 angegeben direkt neu bestcken.
Achten Sie immer darauf, gleich welche Lsung Sie
whlen, die Patronen richtig in das Magazin einzulegen,
um beim Schieen Unflle bei der Zufuhr zu vermeiden.
ZNDUNG
Wenn Sie bereit sind zu schieen, stellen Sie die Sicherung in Position entsichert, visieren Sie und drcken
Sie den Abzug.
Nachdem Sie gefeuert haben, wirft Ihre Bchse automatisch die Hlse der verschossenen Patrone aus und fhrt
eine zweite Patrone zu.
Wenn Sie weiter schieen mchten, zielen Sie erneut und
drcken Sie wieder auf den Abzug.
Wenn die letzte Patrone verschossen und ausgeworfen
ist, bleibt das Gewehrschloss unter der Wirkung der
Gleitschieneneinstellung offen.
Wenn Sie mit dem Schieen fertig sind, lassen Sie das
Gewehrschloss hinten, in geffneter Position, damit Sie
die Kammer von der Laufbohrung aus und das Magazin
visuell inspizieren knnen, um sich zu vergewissern, dass
sie keine Patronen enthalten.
Stellen Sie sofort die Sicherung in Position gesichert
zurck.

ENTLADEN
Stellen Sie beim Entladen Ihrer Waffe immer die Sicherung
in Position gesichert und halten Sie die Laufmndung
immer in eine ungefhrliche Richtung. Halten Sie Ihre
Finger vom Abzug fern.
1) ffnen Sie das Gewehrschloss, indem Sie den Spannhebel bis zur Sperre nach hinten ziehen (Abbildung 8)
und werfen Sie alle Patronen aus, die sich in der Kammer
befinden. Lassen Sie das Gewehrschloss in hinterer Position mit geffnetem Mechanismus.
2) Inspizieren Sie sorgfltig das Innere der Laufkammer,
um sicherzugehen, dass sie leer ist.
3) Entnehmen Sie das Magazin, indem Sie den Riegel des
Magazinbodens nach hinten ziehen, oder kippen Sie es
nach unten.
4) Wenn die Kammer leer und das Magazin herausgenommen ist, schlieen Sie das Gewehrschloss, indem Sie
den Haltehebel nach unten drcken (Abb.2) und stellen
Sie die Sicherung in Position gesichert.
5) Nehmen Sie die Patronen aus dem Magazin, indem
Sie die Patronen nach vorn drcken, und setzen Sie dann
das leere Magazin ein oder verschlieen Sie es wieder im
Magazinboden der Bchse.
ABZUG
Ihre Bchse wurde im Werk eingestellt, um ihr einen
trockenen Abzug, einen kurzen Abzugsweg und ein
Abzugsgewicht von etwa 1,8 kg zu verleihen, natrlich
gekoppelt mit der Sorge um grtmgliche Sicherheit.
GLEICH UNTER WELCHEN UMSTNDEN,
VERNDERN SIE NIEMALS DEN ABZUG, DIE
SICHERUNG UND ALLE ANDEREN TEILE DES
FEUERUNGSMECHANISMUS BZW. LASSEN
SIE VERNDERN.
EINSTELLUNG DER VISIERUNGEN
Wir wollten Ihrer Bchse eine fr eine Selbstladebchse
auergewhnliche Przision geben. Das Treibjagdmodell
hat eine Visierschiene sowie ein in der Hhe und seitlich
verstellbares Richtkorn.
Das Pirschmodell hat ein festes Visier und ein in der
Hhe und seitlich verstellbares Richtkorn.
Ihre Bchse BAR Zenith ist im Werk auf 90 Meter mit
Winchester Munition eingestellt worden, wenn man auf
die in Abb. 9 dargestellte Art visiert.
Wenn Sie fr gewhnlich auf besondere Entfernungen
oder mit besonderer Munition schieen oder wenn Sie
anders zielen, ist es offensichtlich, dass die Einstellung
Ihrer Waffe personalisiert werden muss. Sie knnen es
auch interessant finden, sie auf die GEE (Gnstigste Einschuentfernung) je nach gewhlter Munition einzustellen, siehe dazu die Ballistiktabellen des Herstellers.

Trocknen Sie den Lauf sorgfltig und opfern Sie eine

Patrone, um ihn abzubrennen. Setzen Sie sich dann
hin und visieren Sie, ohne die Bchse auf einen harten
Gegenstand zu sttzen, sorgfltig die Zielscheibe an, die
Sie in der gewnschten Entfernung aufgestellt haben,
und beachten Sie dabei die Sicherheitsregeln. Korrigieren Sie nach der Einschlagstelle auf der Zielscheibe das
Richtkorn in der Hhe und in der seitlichen Abweichung.
Wenn der Einschlag zu hoch ist, heben Sie das Richtkorn
an, wenn er zu weit rechts ist, bewegen Sie das Richtkorn
nach rechts (und umgekehrt).
Fahren Sie fort, bis die Einschlge sich an der anvisierten
Stelle befinden.
Besttigen Sie die Richtigkeit Ihrer Einstellung durch das
Verschieen von mindestens 3 Kugeln.
Die Bchse kann mit einem Zielfernrohr auf dem Gehuse ausgestattet werden. Es hat 4 Punkte fr die Befestigung einer Befestigungsflche.
Fhren Sie jedes Jahr zu Beginn der Jagdsaison einen
Schuss zur Kontrolle der Einstellung Ihrer Bchse aus.
Lassen Sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt die Einstellung der
Gaszufuhr durch einen spezialisierten Waffenhndler
durchfhren.
EINSTELLUNG DES SCHAFTES
Ihre Bchse BAR Zenith besitzt ein System zur Einstellung
der Neigung und der Abbiegung des Schaftes, das eine
perfekte Anpassung der Waffe an den Jger ermglicht.
Sie verfgen fr diese Einstellung ber 5 Schaft-Zwischenstcke, die getrennt in dem Karton liegen, und ein
original auf Ihre Bchse montiertes Schaft-Zwischenstck.
Sie knnen die Neigung an der Schaftkappe um 3,5 mm
im Vergleich zur Standardneigung erhhen oder verringern (die Oberseite des Kolbenbodens). Sie knnen an
der Schaftkappe auch die Abbiegung um 3 mm nach
links oder 3 mm nach rechts im Vergleich zur Standardabbiegung verstellen.
Die 6 Schaftzwischenstcke sind nummeriert, und zwar
mit 1, 2 und 3 und 1R/1L, 2R/2L und 3R/3L.
Diese Nummerierung befindet sich im unteren linken Bereich jedes Schaftzwischenstcks (Abb. 10).
Das Schaftzwischenstck Nr. 2 wird im Werk auf die
Waffe montiert.
Wenn die Neigung und die Abbiegung richtig sind, lassen Sie sie so.
Wenn es notwendig ist, Ihre Bchse einzustellen, mssen
Sie den Kolbenboden abmontieren.
Lsen Sie anschlieend mit einem langen Inbusschlssel
Nr. 5 die Schaftschraube und entfernen Sie den Schaft

Es knnen sich verschiedene Situationen ergeben:
1. Die Abbiegung Ihrer Bchse ist richtig, aber Sie wollen
die Neigung verstellen.

den Schaft und montieren Sie ihn in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie beim Abmontieren.
- Die Neigung ist zu stark : setzen Sie das Schaftzwischenstck Nr. 1R/1L (mit der Aufschrift 1R an der Schaftseite) auf den Schaft und montieren Sie ihn in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie beim Abmontieren.
- die Neigung ist zu gering : setzen Sie das Schaftzwischenstck Nr. 3R/3L (mit der Aufschrift 3R an der Schaftseite) auf den Schaft und montieren Sie ihn in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie beim Abmontieren.
Die Abbiegung ist zu weit nach rechts und :
- Die Abbiegung ist richtig: setzen Sie das Schaftzwischenstck Nr.2R/2L (mit der Aufschrift 2L an der Schaftseite) auf den Schaft und montieren Sie ihn in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie beim Abmontieren.
- Die Neigung ist zu stark: setzen Sie das Schaftzwischenstck Nr. 1R/1L (mit der Aufschrift 1L an der Schaftseite)
auf den Schaft und montieren Sie ihn in umgekehrter
Reihenfolge wie beim Abmontieren.
- die Neigung ist zu gering: setzen Sie das Schaftzwischenstck Nr. 3R/3L (mit der Aufschrift 3L an der Schaftseite) auf den Schaft und montieren Sie ihn in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie beim Abmontieren.
WARTUNG
Bevor Sie mit den Reinigungsprozessen beginnen, stellen
Sie die Sicherung in Position gesichert. ffnen Sie den
Mechanismus und vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihre Bchse vollstndig entladen ist. Richten Sie die Laufmndung
immer in eine ungefhrliche Richtung.
Um Sie voll zufrieden zu stellen, erfordert Ihre Bchse
ein Minimum an Wartung, die Sie selbst bernehmen
knnen. Browning empfiehlt die Benutzung von Lgia
Spray len, die speziell fr die Pflege Ihrer Waffen entwickelt worden sind.

Wenn Sie Ihre Bchse reinigen oder warten wollen, empfehlen wir Ihnen, wie folgt zu verfahren:
1. Aktivieren Sie vor allem die Sicherung, vergewissern
Sie sich, dass Ihre Waffe entladen und das Magazin leer
ist.
2. ffnen Sie das Gewehrschloss bis zum Verhaken.
3. Fhren Sie durch die Laufmndung Ihrer Waffe Ihren
Reinigungsstab ein, zunchst mit einem Tuch und danach,
wenn ntig, mit einem Messingrohrwischer, beide zuvor
mit einem guten Lsungsmittel getrnkt. Die Reinigung
des Laufes und der Kammer besteht im wesentlichen darin, alle Pulverrckstnde zu beseitigen. Achten Sie bei
dieser Reinigung besonders darauf, die Laufmndung
nicht zu verkratzen.
Jeder Sto und jede Beschdigung dieses wesentlichen
Teils Ihrer Bchse kann verheerende Folgen fr ihre Przision haben.
4. Trocknen Sie den Lauf nach dem Reinigen ordentlich
ab und reiben Sie ihn mit einem sauberen Flanelltuch
mit Lgia l ein.
5. Putzen Sie Gewehrschloss und Verriegelung und das
Gehuseinnere mit einem trockenen Tuch ab, indem sie
es durch den Sitz des Magazins einfhren (gleichgltig,
ob der Riegel geschlossen ist oder nicht).
Entfernen Sie das an den Wnden und an der Frdereinrichtung des Magazins haftende getrocknete l und ersetzen Sie es durch eine sehr feine Schicht frisches l.
6. Fahren Sie mit einem gelten Tuch ber alle ueren
Metallflchen und achten Sie darauf, alle Fingerabdrcke
abzuwischen (Schwei ist oft surehaltig). Der gesunde
Menschenverstand empfiehlt, die Bchse jedes Mal leicht
einzulen, wenn sie widrigen Wetterverhltnissen oder
einer ungnstigen Handhabung ausgesetzt ist.
7. Untersuchen Sie von Zeit zu Zeit den Kolben des
Gaszylinders und die Bgel der Laufschienen und befreien Sie sie von allen eventuellen Rckstnden. Dies ist
jedoch nur nach einer intensiven Benutzung notwendig.
Entfernen Sie, um den Mechanismus zu erreichen, den
Vorderschaft wie folgt:
ffnen Sie bei eingesetztem leeren Magazin das Gewehrschloss bis zum Verhaken:
Entfernen Sie den Riemenbgel des Vorderschaftes und
lsen Sie dann die Befestigungsschraube mit einem
Inbusschlssel Nr. 4, den Sie in das Loch im Schraubenkopf setzen.
Schieben Sie den Vorderschaft nach vorn, um ihn zu entfernen und den Mechanismus freizulegen (Abb.12 und
13).
(Anmerkung: der Vorderschaft kann nicht entfernt werden, wenn das Gewehrschloss geffnet ist).
Reinigen Sie die Auenseite des teilweise freigelegten Kol-

bens, des Gaszylinders (Abb. 14) und die anderen sichtbaren Teile mit einem sehr leicht gelten Pinsel. Trockenen Sie anschlieend den Kolben und, soweit mglich,
den Gaszylinder. Sie mssen von jeglichem l befreit
werden, um nicht die Bildung von Zunder zu begnstigen. Wenn Sie die Waffe lange Zeit nicht benutzen, knnen Sie die Teile strker len, aber vergessen Sie nicht, sie
vor der erneuten Benutzung der Waffe zu reinigen. Verndern Sie in keinem Fall die Einstellung der Gaszufuhr,
es ist wichtig, dass dies von einem qualifizierten Waffenhndler bernommen wird. Das Wiedereinbauen des
Vorderschaftes erfolgt in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie
das Ausbauen. Achten Sie darauf, das Gewehrschloss vor
dem Wiedereinbau zu ffnen. Vermeiden Sie es zu forcieren, der Vorderschaft knnte dadurch zerbrechen.
8. Die Holzteile werden mit einem Qualittsl gereinigt,
Browning empfiehlt die Benutzung von Lgia Spray speziell fr Holz.

The BAR Zenith represents the latest generation of Browning semi-automatic rifles.
With a reasonable amount of care, your rifle should give
you many years of dependable, enjoyable service.
The BAR Zenith rifle you have just acquired is a part of the
extensive range of Browning products.
Its principle of operation is based on using a part of the
energy provided by the combustion gasses to activate the
semi-automatic operating cycle.
Your BAR Zenith rifle is the fruit of more than 40 years of
experience for Browning in semi-automatic rifles. Its perfect balance essentially results from the well thought-out
distribution of masses in movement, whilst the principle
of gas-assisted operation provides it with its extraordinary
smoothness and reduced recoil for the shooter.
The cold hammered barrel allied with the 7 lugs bolt gives
your rifle unmatched accuracy.
Operation of your BAR Zenith has been tested in our
factory with a wide range of cartridges available on the
European market.
HOWEVER, THE ACCURACY OF YOUR BAR
ZENITH HAS BEEN SET EXCLUSIVELY WITH
WINCHESTER AMMUNITION, WHICH WE
RECOMMEND YOU TO USE.
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The extremely simple principle of operation is based on
diverting a part of the combustion gasses to a piston. Under the gas pressure, the piston moves backwards and
pushes the moving parts (bolt and breech) towards the
back of the gun, which opens the mechanism and ejects
the empty case. Under the pressure of the recoil spring,
the breech and bolt unit is then pushed back forward and
a new cartridge is inserted automatically into the chamber.
One original characteristic of the rifle is to be found in its
rotating bolt system: as the bolt lugs are based on the wall
of the barrel itself, the bolt and the barrel form a rigid unit
together, which adds to the rifles accuracy. (figure. 1).
Your rifles semi-automatic operation enables the cartridges in the magazine to be fired one after another. When
the last cartridge has been ejected, the bolt is held open.
To close the bolt, simply depress the bolt release lever (figure. 2). For obvious safety reasons, do not insert your
fingers inside the ejection opening.

Above and beyond its exacting mechanical design, incorporating the latest manufacturing techniques, the BAR
Zenith also possesses the following distinctive features:
- An ergonomic bolt release lever for simplifying loading
and unloading.
- Accurate adjustment of the gas system which will enable
your gunsmith to adapt the rifle to the ammunition you
use.
- A special rod and mass system, guaranteeing perfect
operation with the different types of ammunition used.
- A recoil pad.
- A system for adjusting the stocks pitch and advantage
for a perfect match between the gun and its user.
- A gun-locking indicator (red dot) located in the ejection
opening, for making sure that your rifle is correctly locked
at just one glance.
- A sighting system that meets all the hunters requirements.
RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE USING THE
GUN FOR THE FIRST TIME
All exposed metal parts of your new firearm have been
oiled at the factory, please wipe off any excess oil with a
soft, clean, dry cloth.
Before firing your first shot, clean the bore and chamber of
the barrel thoroughly.
The bore must be dried to avoid any overpressure and any
variations in the point of impact. Fit a cleaning rod with
a piece of flannel and push it down the barrel, inserting it
from the barrel mouth.
If necessary, wipe off any excess oil from the other parts of
the firearm with a soft cloth.
AMMUNITION
Do not use ammunition of any other calibre than the one
specified on the right-hand side of the barrel
Examine every cartridge you put into your firearm.
Only use reliable commercially available cartridges of the
right calibre for your gun. The calibre is engraved on the
right-hand side of the barrel and on the back of the magazine. We have designed and manufactured your rifle with
all the safety coefficients required. However, Browning
will assume no responsibilities for incidents, which occur
through the use of cartridges of non standard dimension
or those developing pressures in excess of CIP or SAAMI
established standards.
Browning recommends Winchester cartridges.
SERIAL NUMBER & MARKING
Your rifles serial number is engraved on the left-hand side
of the receiver. The calibre is marked on the right-hand
side of the barrel and the back of the magazine.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SAFETY
Your rifle is equipped with a transverse safety button system. It is conveniently located on the trigger guard behind
the trigger. The large size of the safety button makes it
very easy to operate.
When completely pushed to the right (figure. 3), the safety is in the ON safe position with the trigger locked.
When completely pushed to the left (figure. 4), a red line
appears on the left side of the safety, the safety is in the
OFF safe position and the firearm is ready for firing.
Get used to leaving your firearm with the safety in the
ON safe position, no matter whether it is loaded or
not.
Only put the safety in the OFF safe position just when
you are ready to fire.
Note: If a left-handed safety is needed, the safety can
be reversed by a qualified gunsmith. In this case, the safety
must be operated in the opposite way. Therefore, when
completely pushed to the right, a red line will appear on
the right side of the safety, the safety is in the OFF safe
position and the firearm will be ready for firing.
LOADING
Depending on the legislation in force in different countries, the Browning BAR has a removable magazine mounted on a hinged floorplate or a fixed magazine or a dropdown magazine.
The magazine also has a capacity that directly depends on
the legislation in force in the different countries.
An extra cartridge inserted into the chamber beforehand
will increase the total capacity of your rifle by one cartridge.
To load your gun, we recommend that:
1. When loading your rifle, always keep the safety in the
ON safe position and keep the muzzle aimed in a safe
direction. Keep your fingers away from the trigger.
Open the mechanism and check that your gun is totally
unloaded, see Unloading section below.
Then proceed as follows:
2. Eject the magazine from the rifle by pulling the magazine release rearward with your finger, located at the back
of the magazine. The magazine will either fall into your
hand or swivel. (figure 5).
3. Open the bolt by pulling the bolt handle completely
backward, while holding the bolt in its rearward position,
lift the bolt lever release in order to lock it into open position, then insert a cartridge into the chamber.
4. Release the bolt by depressing the bolt release lever (figure.2).

5. Insert a full magazine on the hinged floorplate or refill

the empty magazine.
6. Close the floorplate or insert the drop-down magazine
into position until it locks into place.
N.B. Basic versions may differ depending on the legislation in force in different countries. Depending on legislation, the magazine may be fixed and non-transformable.
The rifle is now ready for firing just by moving the safety
in the OFF safe position and squeezing the trigger.
Changing magazines on versions with a hinged floorplate.
For removing the empty magazine with the magazine
floorplate open, take hold of the magazine by gripping
its side walls between thumb and middle finger and press
your forefinger against the back edge of the floorpate.
The magazine will come off the support easily. To put a
full magazine back onto the floorplate, insert the nose on
the front of the magazine into the corresponding slot and
push the magazine into position as far as possible on its
floorplate (figure. 6). If you do not possess a second magazine, or if the magazine is fixed in position, you can
directly reload the magazine in position on the rifle as
shown in (figure. 7). Whatever solution you adopt, always
make sure that cartridges are placed in the magazine correctly to avoid any cartridge feed incident when firing.
FIRING
When you are ready to fire, move the safety in the OFF
safe position, take aim and squeeze the trigger.
After firing, the bolt will automatically move rearward,
eject the empty case you have just fired and then return
forward feeding a new cartridge into the chamber.
If you want to fire a second shot, take aim again and then
squeeze the trigger.
When the last cartridge has been fired and ejected, the
bolt is held open rearward.
If you have finished firing, leave the bolt open, in the back
position, for inspecting the barrel bore chamber and the
magazine visually to make sure that there are no more
cartridges in the chamber or the magazine.
Put the safety back in the ON safe position immediately.
UNLOADING
When unloading your rifle, always put the safety in the
ON safe position and keep the muzzle aimed in a safe
direction. Keep your fingers away from the trigger.
1) Remove the magazine by pulling the magazine release
backward.
2) Open the bolt by pulling the bolt handle backward and

eject any cartridge that may be in the chamber. While holding the bolt in its back position, lift the bolt release lever
in order to lock it into open position. Leave the bolt in the
rear position with the mechanism open.
3) Check the inside of the chamber to make sure it is
empty.
4) With the chamber empty and the magazine removed,
close the bolt by depressing the bolt release lever (figure.2).
5) Remove any cartridges remaining in the magazine by
pushing them forward, and then insert the empty magazine into the rifle.

Readjust your foresight until all the points of impact are

at the point of aim.
Check that your adjustments are correct by firing at least
three bullets.
Every year at the beginning of the hunting season, check
that your rifle is correctly adjusted by firing a series of
test shots.
At the same time have the gas operation system checked
and adjusted by a specialist gunsmith.

TRIGGER
Your rifle has been set in our factory to give you a trigger
with a clean, crisp pull and a short movement requiring a
force of about 1.8 kg, compatible, even so, with the strictest concerns for safety.
NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES
MAY BE, NEVER CHANGE OR HAVE CHANGED THE TRIGGER, THE SAFETY SYSTEM OR
ANY OTHER ELEMENT THAT IS A PART OF
THE FIRING MECHANISM.

ADJUSTING THE STOCK

Your BAR Zenith rifle possesses a system for adjusting the
stocks pitch and advantage for a perfect fit between firearm and user.
To make this adjustment, you have 5 shims presented separately in the case and one shim already fitted to your
rifle in our factory.
You can reduce or increase the pitch by more or less
3.5 mm at the heel of the stock (on the top of the recoil
pad) in comparison with the standard pitch. You can also
modify the advantage by 3 mm to the left or to the right
at the heel of the stock compared with the standard advantage.

ADJUSTING THE SIGHTS

We have manufactured a rifle that has exceptional accuracy for a semi-automatic gun.
The battue or afft models are delivered with a non
adjustable rear sight.
Nevertheless, the front sight for both models is fully adjustable, vertically and horizontally.
Your BAR Zenith rifle has been set in our factory for firing
at 90 metres using Winchester ammunition and aiming as
shown in (figure. 9).
If you normally hunt at other distances or with other ammunition or if you position the frontsight differently, you
will obviously have to re-adjust your gun to meet your
own requirements. You may also find it worthwhile to set
it at the Optimal Setting In Distance depending on the
ammunition you use. To do this, please consult the manufacturers ballistic charts for the ammunition chosen.
Dry your barrel carefully and sacrifice a cartridge for flaming it. Then lay down and without resting your rifle on
any solid object, take careful aim at the target you have
placed at the distance chosen, taking care to comply with
safety regulations, then fire.
Depending on the point of impact on the target, correct
the position of the frontsight vertically or for any side
drift.
If the point of impact is too high, raise the frontsight, if it
is too far right, move the foresight to the right (and viceversa).

Before performing stock adjustment procedures, always

place the safety in the ON safe position. Eject the magazine, open the mechanism and make certain that your
rifle is totally unloaded. Always keep the muzzle pointed
in a safe direction.
The 6 stock shims are respectively numbered 1, 2 and 3
and 1R/1L, 2R/2L and 3R/3L.
The reference number for each stock shim is to be found
in their lower left-hand corner (fig. 10).
The neutral shim, N 2, is already installed on your rifle.
If the pitch and the advantage suit you, do not change
anything.
If your rifle needs adjusting, the recoil pad will need to
be dismantled.
Then with a long N 5 Allen wrench, unscrew the stock
mounting screw and remove the stock and the stock shim
(figure. 11).
Several situations are likely to occur:
1. The advantage of your rifle is correct but you want to
adjust the pitch.
The pitch is too high: Put stock shim N 1 in place on
the stock and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
The pitch is too low: Put stock shim N 3 in place on the
stock and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
2. The advantage on your rifle is not correct.
The advantage is too far left and:
- The pitch is all right: put stock shim N 2R/2L (with

the 2R inscription towards the stock) in place on the stock
and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
- The pitch is too high: put stock shim N 1R/1L (with the
1R inscription towards the stock) in place on the stock
and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
- The pitch is too low: put stock shim N 3R/3L (with the
3R inscription towards the stock) in place on the stock
and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
The advantage is too far right and:
- The pitch is all right: put stock shim N 2R/2L (with the
2L inscription towards the stock) in place on the stock
and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
- The pitch is too high: put stock shim N 1R/1L (with the
1L inscription towards the stock) in place on the stock
and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
- The pitch is too low: put stock shim N 3R/3L (with the
3L inscription towards the stock) in place on the stock
and re-assemble in the reverse order to dismantling.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before beginning cleaning operations, always place the
safety in the ON safe position. Eject the magazine, open
the mechanism and make certain that your rifle is totally
unloaded. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
To give you total satisfaction, your rifle requires a minimum amount of maintenance that you can do yourself.
Browning recommends using Legia Spray oils specially
designed for looking after your guns.
For a more thorough maintenance operation, give your
gun to a specialist gunsmith at least once a year. This will
guarantee many years of perfect operation and total satisfaction.
Every time you use your rifle, proceed as follows
afterwards for servicing:
1. Before all else, put the safety in the ON safe position
and check that your gun is unloaded and that the magazine is empty.
2. Open the bolt until it is held in the open position.
3. Attach a piece of cloth onto your cleaning rod, followed, if necessary by a brass bush, both soaked in solvent beforehand and insert the rod into the barrel from
the muzzle end. Cleaning the barrel and the chamber essentially consists of removing all traces of powder. During
the cleaning operation, take care not to scratch the barrel
muzzle.
Any blow or damage to this essential element of your gun
may have a disastrous effect on its accuracy.
4. After cleaning the barrel, dry it correctly and put a thin
coat of Legia oil on it, using a piece of clean flannel.
5. Clean the bolt and bolt unit and the inside of the receiver with a dry cloth, by inserting it in the magazine

housing (no matter whether the bolt is closed or not).

Remove any dry oil sticking to the walls and the magazine
holder and replace with a thin coat of new oil.
6. Rub an oily cloth over all the outside metal surfaces
making sure to remove finger marks (perspiration is often
acid). Common sense recommends you to oil the gun
lightly every time it has been used in bad weather and
poor handling conditions.
7. Examine the gas cylinder piston and the slideway bars
from time to time and clean off any possible residue you
may find on them. However, this is only needed after intensive use.
For getting to this mechanism, the fore-end must be removed as follows:
With the empty magazine in place, open the bolt until it
locks in the open position.
Remove the swivel ring from the fore-end and unscrew
the holding bolt using a N 4 Allen wrench to be placed in
the hole in the screw head.
Slide the fore-end forward to remove it and uncover the
mechanism (figures.12 and 13).
Clean the outside of the piston that is partially exposed,
the gas cylinder (figure.14) and other exposed parts with
a lightly oiled brush.
Then dry the piston and the gas cylinder as well as possible. They must be oil-free, to avoid creating scaling deposits. If you do not plan to use your gun over a long period
of time, you can oil the parts more thoroughly, but do not
forget to clean them again before re-using it. Never alter
the gas system adjustment; this operation must obligatorily be carried out by a qualified gunsmith.
Re-assembly of the fore-end is done in reverse order to
dismantling. Remember to open the bolt before re-assembly. Do not force the fore-end into position, you may
break it.
8. Wood is to be cleaned with good quality oil. Browning
recommends using Legia Special Wood Spray.

Use of a Browning safe is highly recommended.
Put your gun away in a dry moderately ventilated area,

FUNCIONAMIENTO
El principio de funcionamiento, extremadamente sencillo,
se basa en la derivacin de una parte de los gases de combustin hacia un pistn. Bajo el empuje de esos gases, el
pistn retrocede, empuja las piezas mviles (cerrojo y porta
cerrojo ) hacia la parte trasera del arma y provoca la apertura del mecanismo y la eyeccin de la vaina. Bajo la presin del muelle recuperador, el conjunto transportador y
cerrojo se lleva hacia la parte frontal, arrastrando un nuevo
cartucho a la recamara.
Una caracterstica original del rifle reside en su sistema
de bloqueo rotativo: puesto que los tetones del cerrojo se
apoyan en la propia pared del can, el cerrojo forma con
ste un conjunto rgido que favorece la precisin del rifle.

El funcionamiento semiautomtico de su rifle permite disparar uno por uno los cartuchos contenidos en el cargador.
Cuando se ha eyectado el ltimo cartucho, la ventana de
expulsin queda abierta bajo la accin del retn de corredera.

Usted acaba de recibir su rifle. Para garantizarle contra
cualquier corrosin, hemos lubricado las superficies exteriores y el interior del can; si lo considera til, seque el
aceite sobrante con un pao suave, limpio y seco.

MUNICIONES
Utilice slo municiones cuyo calibre coincida con el inscrito en el lado derecho del can.

Emplee slo cartuchos de comercio fiables, cuyo calibre sea
exacto al de su arma. Este calibre est grabado en la parte
derecha del can, as como en el dorso del cargador. Hemos estudiado y fabricado su rifle con los coeficientes de
seguridad necesarios, no obstante, Browning rechaza toda
responsabilidad en caso de dao resultante de la utilizacin
de cartuchos, cuyas presiones excesivas o dimensiones no
estn conformes con las reglamentaciones CIP o SAAMI.
Browning recomienda emplear cartuchos Winchester.

NUMERACIN Y MARCADO
El nmero de serie de su rifle est grabado en el lateral
izquierdo de la carcasa. El calibre est inscrito en la parte
derecha del can, as como en el lateral posterior del cargador.
ESPECIFICACIONES TCNICAS
SEGURIDAD
La seguridad de su rifle es de tipo transversal. Est situada
en el guardamontes, detrs del disparador. El botn de gran
superficie facilita su manejo.
Empujada hacia la derecha (fig. 3), el arma est en seguridad, disparador bloqueado. Empujada hacia la izquierda,
aparece una rayita roja:
el arma est fuera de seguridad, lista para el tiro.
Habitese a dejar su arma con el botn en posicin seguridad estando o no cargada, qutelo nicamente cuando
vaya a disparar.
CARGA
Su rifle est dotado con un cargador desmontable que est
fijado en un soporte giratorio o inamovible, o bien con un
cargador inclinado (fig. 4) segn la legislacin vigente en
cada pas.
Este cargador tiene una capacidad que est vinculada directamente con la legislacin vigente en cada pas. Un cartucho introducido de antemano en la recmara aumentar
la capacidad total de su rifle.
Para cargar su arma, le aconsejamos:
1. Cuando cargue su rifle, mantenga siempre la boca del
can dirigida hacia una direccin no peligrosa, coloque
siempre el botn en posicin seguridad y mantenga sus
dedos alejados del disparador.
Abra el mecanismo y cercirese de que su rifle est completamente descargado.
Proceda del siguiente modo:
2. Desprenda el cargador del rifle tirando del dispositivo
deslizante, que est situado en la parte posterior del cargador, hacia atrs con el dedo ndice. El cargador caer en su
mano o girar sobre su eje. (figura 5).
3. Desplace el cerrojo hacia atrs hasta llegar al trinquete
que lo retenga. e introduzca un cartucho en la recmara.
4. Libere el cerrojo bajando el retn de corredera (fig.).
5. Coloque un cargador lleno en el soporte giratorio o
rellene el cargador vaco.
6. Cierre de nuevo el soporte giratorio del cargador o introduzca el cargador inclinado hasta su retenida. NOTA. las
versiones de base pueden diferir segn la legislacin vigente
en cada pas. Segn la legislacin, el cargador puede ser
inamovible e intransformable.

El rifle ya est ahora listo para disparar poniendo simplemente el seguro en posicin fuera de seguridad y accionando el disparador.
Cambio de cargador para las versiones con soporte giratorio.
Para retirar un cargador vaco, abra el soporte del cargador
coja las paredes laterales del cargador entre el dedo pulgar
y el dedo medio y pulse con el dedo ndice el borde trasero
del soporte giratorio.
El cargador se desprende de su soporte sin esfuerzo.
Para colocar un cargador lleno en el soporte, introduzca la
punta de la pared anterior en la ranura correspondiente del
soporte giratorio y apoye a fondo el cargador en su soporte
(fig. 6).
Si no posee un segundo cargador o si el cargador est fijo,
puede realimentar directamente el arma tal y como se indica en la (fig. 7). Vele siempre, cualquiera que sea la solucin
que adopte, por colocar correctamente los cartuchos en el
cargador, para evitar cualquier incidente de alimentacin
durante el tiro.
DISPARAR
Cuando est listo para disparar, desplace el botn hacia la
posicin fuera de seguridad, apunte y presione el disparador.
Despus de haber disparado, su rifle expulsara automticamente la vaina del cartucho disparado y alimentar un
segundo cartucho en la recamara.
Si desea seguir disparando, apunte y presione de nuevo el
disparador.
Una vez que se haya disparado y expulsado la vaina perteneciente el ltimo cartucho, la ventana permanecer abierta
bajo la accin del retn corredera.
Si ha terminado de disparar, deje el cierre hacia atrs, la
ventana est en posicin abierta con el fin de que usted
pueda inspeccionar visualmente la recamara, nima del
can y el cargador, para cerciorarse de que no contiene
ningn cartucho.
Ponga de nuevo inmediatamente el botn en posicin seguridad.
DESCARGA
Cuando descarga su arma, coloque siempre el botn en
posicin seguridad y mantenga siempre la boca del can
en una direccin no peligrosa. Mantenga sus dedos alejados
del disparador.
1) Desplace el cerrojo tirando de la palanca de armar hacia
atrs, hasta que el trinquete provoque la retenida (figura
8) y expulse el cartucho que estaba en la recamara. Deje el
cerrojo retenido con la ventana de expulsin abierta.

2) Examinar cuidadosamente el interior del can para cerciorarse de que est vaco.
3) Retire el cargador tirando hacia atrs del dispositivo situado antes de su ubicacin o hgalo girar hacia abajo.
4) Una vez que la recmara est vaca y el cargador retirado,
acte sobre el cerrojo liberndolo bajando el retn (fig.2)
y ponga el botn en posicin seguridad.
5) Extraiga los cartuchos del cargador, empujando los cartuchos hacia adelante, luego introduzca o vuelva a cerrar el
cargador vaco en el alojamiento que dispone el rifle.
DISPARO
Su rifle se ha ajustado en fbrica realizando un disparo en
vacio, con un desplazamiento de disparador corto y un
peso de salida que se aproxima a 1,8 Kg, compatible sin
embargo con las medidas de seguridad ms estrictas.
CUALESQUIERA QUE SEAN LAS CIRCUNSTANCIAS, NO MODIFIQUE NUNCA NI MANDE
NUNCA MODIFICAR EL DISPARADOR, EL SEGURO O CUALQUIER OTRA PIEZA QUE FORME PARTE DEL MECANISMO DE FUEGO.
AJUSTE DE LOS RGANOS DE MIRA
Hemos procurado dotar a su rifle de una precisin excepcional para un rifle semiautomtico. El modelo Battue
posee una banda de mira pico de pato as como un punto
de mira ajustable en altura y transversalmente.
El modelo normal (Affut) posee un alza fija y un punto de
mira ajustable en altura y transversalmente.
Su rifle BAR Zenith fue ajustada en fbrica a 90 metros con
municiones Winchester tal y como se ilustra en la fig. 9.
Si usted apunta de manera diferente o con municiones particulares, puesto que el punto de mira es el rgano situado
en el extremo del can, es evidente que ser necesario
personalizarlo puede que considere interesante ajustarlo a
la DRO (Distancia de Ajuste ptima) segn la municin
elegida; con este fin srvase consultar las tablas de tiro del
fabricante.
Seque cuidadosamente su can y sacrifique un cartucho
para flamearlo. A continuacin, adopte una postura cmoda y sin apoyar el rifle en un objeto duro, apunte cuidadosamente el blanco que habr colocado a la distancia
elegida, respetando las reglas de seguridad.
Segn la localizacin del impacto en el blanco, proceda a la
correccin del punto de mira en altura y en deriva transversal.
Si el impacto es demasiado alto suba el punto de mira, si
est demasiado a la derecha desplace el punto de mira hacia la derecha (y viceversa).
Comience de nuevo el proceso hasta que los impactos
se lleven hasta el blanco elegido.
Confirme la exactitud de su ajuste disparando por lo menos

3 balas.
El rifle dispone en la carcasa de cuatro anclajes, mediante
tornillos para fijar unas bases donde se puede instalar un
visor o algn otro elemento ptico de puntera.
Cada ao, a principios de la temporada de caza, efecte
un tiro de control del ajuste de su rifle.
Mande controlar en ese momento el ajuste de la toma de
gas por un armero especializado, si efecta cambios sustanciales en el uso de municiones .
AJUSTE DE LA CULATA
Su rifle BAR Zenith posee un sistema de ajuste de la cada
y ventaja de la culata, lo que permite una adecuacin perfecta entre el arma y el cazador.
Usted dispone para ese ajuste de 5 riostras de culata que se
presentan por separado en la caja y de una riostra de culata
que est montada en su rifle.
Puede disminuir o aumentar la cada de ms o menos
3,5mm a nivel del taln de la culata (la parte superior de la
cantonera) con relacin a la cada estndar. Tambin puede
modificar la ventaja de 3 mm. hacia la izquierda o derecha a nivel del taln de la culata con relacin a la ventaja
estndar.
Las 6 riostras de culata estn numeradas respectivamente
1, 2 y 3 y 1R/1L, 2R/2L y 3R/3L.
Esta numeracin se encuentra en la zona inferior izquierda
de cada riostra de culata (fig 10).
La riostra de culata N2 se monta en el arma en fbrica.
Si la cada y la ventaja son buenas, no toque nada.
Si fuera necesario ajustar su rifle, deber desmontarse la
cantonera.
A continuacin con una larga llave Allen n5, afloje el tornillo de culata y retire la riostra y esta del rifle. (fig. 11).
Pueden presentarse varias situaciones:
1. La ventaja de su rifle es buena pero usted desea ajustar la
cada. La cada es demasiado fuerte: coloque la riostra 1 en
la culata y vuelvan a colocar las piezas en el orden opuesto
de desmontaje.
la cada tiene poca fuerza: colocan la riostra 3 sobre el
culata y mntela en sentido contrario al desmontaje.
2. La ventaja de su rifle no es buena.
La ventaja est demasiado a la izquierda y - La cada es
buena: coloque la riostra 2R/2L
(con la inscripcin 2R del lado culata) en la culata y mntela en sentido contrario del desmontaje.
- La cada tiene demasiada fuerza: coloque la riostra 1R/1L
(con la inscripcin 1R del lado culata) en la culata y mntela en sentido contrario del desmontaje.
- La cada tiene poca fuerza: coloque la riostra 3R/3L (con
la inscripcin 3R del lado culata) en la culata y mntela en
sentido contrario del desmontaje.

MANTENIMIENTO
Antes de iniciar los procedimientos de limpieza, coloque
el botn en posicin seguridad. Abra el mecanismo y
cercirese de que su rifle est completamente descargado.
Mantenga siempre la boca del can en una direccin no
peligrosa.
Para darle completa satisfaccin, su rifle requiere un mnimo de mantenimiento que puede realizar usted mismo.
Browning recomienda la utilizacin aceites Lgia Spray,
especialmente concebidos para la lubricacin de sus armas.
Para un mantenimiento ms consecuente, al menos una vez
por ao, encomiende su rifle a un armero especializado,
que le proporcionara un funcionamiento irreprochable de
su arma y de su satisfaccin durante largos aos. Cuando
desee limpiar o mantener su rifle, le recomendamos proceder del siguiente modo:
1. En primer lugar, ponga la seguridad, cercirese de que su
arma y que el cargador est vaco.
2. Abra el cerrojo hasta su retenida.
3. Introduzca por la boca del can, su baqueta de limpieza, en primer lugar provista con un pao y seguidamente si
fuera necesario con una escobilla de latn, uno y otro previamente rociados con un buen disolvente. La limpieza del
can y de la recamara consiste esencialmente en eliminar
todos los residuos de polvo. Durante esta limpieza, tenga
cuidado especialmente con no rayar la boca del can.
Cualquier golpe o dao causado a esta parte esencial de
su rifle, podra tener consecuencias desastrosas sobre su
precisin.
4. Despus de la limpieza del can, squelo apropiadamente y embadrnelo con un film de aceite Lgia mediante
una franela limpia.
5. Pase un pao seco por el conjunto recmara-cerrojo y
dentro de la carcasa introducindolo por el alojamiento del
cargador (bien que el cerrojo est o no cerrado).
Retire el aceite seco adherido a las paredes y al transportador del cargador y reemplcelo por un film muy ligero de
aceite nuevo.
6. Pase un pao con aceite por todas las superficies metlicas exteriores velando por eliminar las huellas de dedos (el

sudor es a menudo cido). La sensatez recomienda engrasar

ligeramente el rifle cada vez que est sujeto a condiciones
atmosfricas o manipulaciones desfavorables.
7. De vez en cuando, examine el pistn del cilindro de gas
y las guias de las correderas para eliminar los eventuales
residuos. No obstante, esto slo ser necesario despus de
una utilizacin intensiva.
Para alcanzar el mecanismo, retire el guardamanos de la
siguiente manera:
Cargador vaco orientado, abra el cerrojo hasta su retenida;
Retire el anillo abrazadera del guardamanos, luego afloje su
tornillo de fijacin con una llave Allen n4 que se colocar
en el agujero de la cabeza de tornillo.
Haga deslizar el guardamanos hacia la parte delantera para
retirarlo y descubrir as el mecanismo (fig. y 13).
(Nota: slo puede retirarse el guardamanos si el cerrojo est
abierto).
Limpie el exterior del pistn parcialmente liberado, del cilindro de gas (fig.) y las otras piezas aparentes con un pincel
ligeramente engrasado. Seque a continuacin el pistn y si
fuera posible el cilindro de gas, deber eliminarse completamente de estas piezas el aceite, con el fin de no favorecer
la formacin de calamina. En previsin de un largo perodo
de puesta fuera de servicio del arma, usted podr engrasar las piezas ms abundantemente, pero no se olvide de
limpiarlas antes de volver a utilizar el arma. No modifique
nunca, por ninguna razn el ajuste de la toma de gas, es
imperativo que esta operacin la realice un armero cualificado.
El nuevo montaje del guardamanos se efecta en sentido
contrario del desmontaje.
Verifique que el cerrojo se encuentra retenido antes de
montarlo.
Evite forzar, el guardamanos podra romperse.
8. Las maderas se limpian con un aceite de calidad, Browning recomienda la utilizacin del Lgia Spray especial
madera.
9. POR PRINCIPIO, GUARDE SUS ARMAS Y MUNICIONES EN LUGARES SEPARADOS Y FUERA
DEL ALCANCE DE LOS NIOS.
La utilizacin de una caja fuerte Browning sera muy indicada. Coloque su rifle en un lugar seco y moderadamente
ventilado, lejos de fuentes demasiado calientes, para que las
maderas pierdan progresivamente la eventual humedad sin
deformarse ni agrietarse.

FONCTIONNEMENT
Le principe de fonctionnement, extrmement simple, est
bas sur la drivation dune partie des gaz de combustion
vers un piston. Sous la pousse de ces gaz, le piston recule, repousse les pices mobiles (verrou et culasse) vers larrire de larme et provoque louverture du mcanisme et
ljection de la douille. Sous la pression du ressort rcuprateur, lensemble culasse et verrou est ramen vers lavant
et entrane une nouvelle cartouche dans la chambre.
Une caractristique originale de la carabine rside dans
son systme de verrouillage rotatif : les tenons du verrou
sappuyant dans la paroi mme du canon, le verrou forme
avec celui-ci un ensemble rigide qui favorise la prcision
de la carabine. (fig. 1)
Le fonctionnement semi-automatique de votre carabine
permet de tirer coup par coup les cartouches contenues
dans le chargeur. Lorsque la dernire cartouche a t jecte, la culasse reste ouverte sous laction de larrtoir de

Le numro de srie de votre carabine est frapp sur le flanc
gauche de la carcasse. Le calibre est inscrit sur le ct droit
du canon, ainsi que sur le flanc arrire du magasin.

SPCIFICATIONS TECHNIQUES

Changement de chargeur pour les versions support pivotant.

Pour enlever un chargeur vide, le support de chargeur
tant ouvert, saisissez les parois latrales du chargeur entre le pouce et le majeur et appuyer lindex sur le bord
arrire du support pivotant. Le chargeur se dgage de son
support sans effort. Pour placer un chargeur rempli sur
le support, engagez le bec de la paroi antrieure dans la
gorge correspondante du support pivotant et appuyez
fond le chargeur sur son support (fig. 6).
Si vous ne disposez pas de second chargeur ou si le chargeur est fixe, vous pouvez ralimenter directement celui
de larme comme indiqu en (fig. 7). Veillez toujours,
quelle que soit la solution que vous adopterez, placer
correctement les cartouches dans le chargeur, pour viter
tout incident dalimentation en cours de tir.

RECOMMANDATIONS
Vous venez de prendre livraison de votre carabine. Pour
vous garantir contre toute corrosion, nous avons lubrifi
les surfaces extrieures et lintrieur du canon ; si vous
le jugez utile, essuyez lhuile excdentaire laide dun
chiffon doux, propre et sec. Avant de tirer votre premire
cartouche, il est indispensable de nettoyer soigneusement
lme du canon :
celle-ci doit tre sche pour viter les surpressions et des
carts de point dimpact. Passez dans le canon une baguette de nettoyage garnie dun morceau de flanelle, en
lintroduisant par la bouche du canon.
MUNITIONS
Nutilisez pas dautres munitions que celles du calibre
inscrit sur le ct droit du canon. Examinez chaque cartouche que vous placez dans votre arme feu. Nutilisez
que les cartouches de commerce fiables du calibre exact
de votre arme. Ce calibre est grav sur la face droite du
canon, ainsi quau dos du chargeur. Nous avons tudi et
fabriqu votre carabine avec les coefficients de scurit ncessaires, cependant Browning dcline toute responsabilit en cas de dommage rsultant de lutilisation de cartouches donnant des pressions excessives ou de dimensions
non conformes aux rglementations CIP ou SAAMI.
Browning recommande lutilisation des cartouches
Winchester.

SRET
La sret de votre carabine est de type transversal. Elle
est situe dans le pontet, derrire la dtente. La grande
surface de son bouton rend son maniement ais.
Pousse vers la droite (fig. 3), larme est en scurit,
dtente bloque. Pousse vers la gauche (fig. 4), un filet rouge apparat ct gauche: larme est hors scurit,
prte pour le tir.
Prenez lhabitude de laisser votre arme avec la sret en
position scurit de faon permanente, quelle soit charge ou non. Ne librez la sret quau moment o vous
allez tirer.
CHARGEMENT
Votre carabine est dote dun chargeur amovible fix sur
un support pivotant ou inamovible ou bien dun chargeur
tombant suivant la lgislation en vigueur dans chaque
pays.
Ce chargeur a une capacit qui est lie galement directement la lgislation en vigueur dans chaque pays. Une
cartouche supplmentaire introduite au pralable dans la
chambre augmentera dune cartouche la capacit totale de
votre arme.
Pour charger votre arme, nous vous conseillons de:
1. Lors du chargement de votre carabine, maintenez toujours la bouche du canon pointe dans une direction non
dangereuse, placez toujours la sret en position scurit et gardez vos doigts loigns de la dtente.
Ouvrez le mcanisme et assurez-vous que votre carabine
est compltement dcharge pratiquer comme suit :
2. Ejectez le chargeur de la carabine en tirant le verrou de
fond de magasin, situ larrire du chargeur, en arrire
laide de votre index. Le chargeur tombera dans votre
main ou pivotera. (figure 5).
3. Ouvrez la culasse jusqu lencliquetage (arrt culasse)
et introduisez une cartouche dans la chambre.
3. Librez la culasse en abaissant larrtoir de glissire
(fig.2).
4. Placez un chargeur plein sur le support pivotant ou
regarnissez le chargeur vide.
5. Refermez le support pivotant du chargeur ou insrer le
chargeur tombant jusqu encliquetage.
N.B. Les versions de base peuvent diffrer selon la lgislation en vigueur dans chaque pays. Suivant la lgislation, le

MISE A FEU
Lorsque vous tes prt tirer, dplacez la sret vers la
position hors scurit, effectuez votre vise et pressez
la dtente.
Aprs avoir fait feu, votre carabine va automatiquement
jecter ltui de la cartouche tire et alimenter une deuxime cartouche.
Si vous dsirez continuer tirer, reprenez votre vise et
pressez la dtente de nouveau.
Une fois la dernire cartouche tire et jecte, la culasse
reste ouverte sous laction de larrtoir de glissire.
Si vous avez fini de tirer, laissez la culasse en arrire, la
culasse tant en position ouverte afin de vous permettre
dinspecter visuellement la chambre de lme du canon
et le chargeur pour vous assurer quils ne contiennent
aucune cartouche.
Replacez immdiatement la sret en position scurit.
DCHARGEMENT
Lors du dchargement de votre arme, placez toujours la
sret en position scurit et maintenez toujours la
bouche du canon dans une direction non dangereuse.
Gardez vos doigts loigns de la dtente.
1) Ouvrez la culasse en tirant le levier darmement en
arrire jusqu encliquetage (fig. 8) et jectez toute cartouche se trouvant dans la chambre. Laissez la culasse en
position arrire avec le mcanisme ouvert.
2) Inspecter soigneusement lintrieur de la chambre du
canon pour vous assurer quelle est vide.
3) Enlevez le chargeur en tirant le verrou de fond de ma-

gasin vers larrire ou faites le pivoter vers le bas.
4) La chambre tant vide et le chargeur tant enlev, fermez la culasse en abaissant larrtoir de glissire (fig.2) et
mettez la sret en position scurit.
5) Procdez lextraction des cartouches du chargeur, en
poussant les cartouches vers lavant, puis insrez ou refermez le chargeur vide dans le fond du magasin de la
carabine.
DTENTE
Votre carabine a t rgle en usine pour vous donner un
dpart sec, une course de dtente brve et un poids de dpart voisin de 1,8 Kg, compatible cependant avec le souci
de scurit le plus strict.
QUELLES QUE SOIENT LES CIRCONSTANCES, NE MODIFIEZ JAMAIS OU NE FAITES
JAMAIS MODIFIER LA DTENTE, LA SRET
OU TOUTE AUTRE PICE FAISANT PARTIE
DU MCANISME DE FEU.
RGLAGE DES ORGANES DE VISE
Nous avons tenu donner votre carabine une prcision
exceptionnelle pour une carabine semi-automatique. Le
modle battue comporte une bande de vise bec de cane
ainsi quun guidon rglable en hauteur et transversalement.
Le modle afft possde une hausse fixe et un guidon
rglable en hauteur et transversalement.
Votre carabine BAR Zenith a t rgle en usine 90 mtres avec des munitions Winchester en visant de la manire illustre en fig. 9.
Si vous chassez habituellement des distances ou avec
des munitions particulires ou si vous prenez le guidon de
faon diffrente, il est vident quil faudra personnaliser le
rglage de votre arme. Vous pouvez aussi trouver intressant de la rgler la DRO (Distance de Rglage Optimale)
suivant la munition choisie ; cette fin veuillez consulter
les tables de tir du fabricant.
Schez soigneusement votre canon et sacrifiez une cartouche pour le flamber. Ensuite , couchez - vous et sans
appuyer la carabine sur un objet dur, visez soigneusement
la cible que vous aurez place la distance choisie, en
observant les rgles de scurit. Daprs la localisation de
limpact sur la cible, procdez la correction du guidon en
hauteur et en drive transversale.
Si limpact est trop haut montez le guidon, sil est trop
droite dplacez le guidon vers la droite (et vice-versa).
Recommencez le processus jusqu ce que les impacts
soient ramens au point vis.
Confirmez la justesse de votre rglage par le tir de 3 balles
au moins.
La carabine peut tre quipe dune lunette de vise se

plaant sur la carcasse. Celle-ci possde quatre points

pour la fixation dune embase.
Chaque anne, au dbut de la saison de chasse, effectuez
un tir de contrle du rglage de votre carabine.
Faites contrler ce moment le rglage de la prise de gaz
par un armurier spcialis.
RGLAGE DE LA CROSSE
Votre carabine BAR Zenith possde un systme de rglage
de la pente et de lavantage de la crosse permettant une
adquation parfaite entre larme et le chasseur.
Vous disposez pour ce rglage de 5 entretoises de crosse
prsentes sparment dans la bote et dune entretoise de
crosse monte lorigine sur votre carabine.
Vous pouvez diminuer ou augmenter la pente de plus ou
moins 3,5mm au niveau du talon de la crosse (le dessus
de la plaque de couche) par rapport la pente standard.
Vous pouvez aussi modifier lavantage de 3 mm vers la
gauche ou 3 mm vers la droite au niveau du talon de la
crosse par rapport lavantage standard.
Les 6 entretoises de crosse sont numrotes respectivement 1, 2 et 3 et 1R/1L, 2R/2L et 3R/3L.
Cette numrotation est prsente dans la zone infrieure
gauche de chaque entretoise de crosse (fig 10).
L entretoise de crosse N2 est monte sur larme en usine.
Si la pente et lavantage sont bons, ne touchez rien.
Sil est ncessaire de rgler votre carabine, il faut dmonter
la plaque de couche.
Ensuite avec un longue clef Allen n5, dvissez la vis de
crosse et retirez la crosse et lentretoise de crosse (fig. 11).
Plusieurs situations peuvent se prsenter :
1. L avantage de votre carabine est bon mais vous voulez
ajuster la pente.
La pente est trop forte : placez lentretoise de crosse 1 sur
la crosse et remontez celle-ci dans lordre inverse du
dmontage.
La pente est trop faible : placez lentretoise de crosse 3
sur la crosse et remontez celle-ci dans lordre inverse du
dmontage.
2. L avantage de votre carabine nest pas bon.
L avantage est trop gauche et :
- La pente est bonne : placez lentretoise de crosse 2R/2L
(avec linscription 2R ct crosse) sur la crosse et remontez celle-ci dans lordre inverse du dmontage.
- La pente est trop forte : placez lentretoise de crosse
1R/1L (avec linscription 1R ct crosse) sur la crosse et
remontez celle-ci dans lordre inverse du dmontage.
- La pente est trop faible : placez lentretoise de crosse
3R/3L (avec linscription 3R ct crosse) sur la crosse et
remontez celle-ci dans lordre inverse du dmontage.
L avantage est trop droite et :
- La pente est bonne : placez lentretoise de crosse 2R/2L

celle-ci dans lordre inverse du dmontage.
- La pente est trop forte : placez lentretoise de crosse

ENTRETIEN
Avant dentamer les procdures de nettoyage, placez la sret en position scurit. Ouvrez le mcanisme et assurez-vous que votre carabine est compltement dcharge.
Maintenez toujours la bouche du canon pointe dans une
direction non dangereuse.
Pour vous donner entire satisfaction, votre carabine
demande un minimum dentretien que vous pouvez
raliser vous-mme. Browning recommande lutilisation
des huiles Lgia Spray, spcialement conues pour
entretenir vos armes.
Pour un entretien plus consquent, au moins une fois par
an, confiez votre carabine un armurier spcialis, gage
dun fonctionnement irrprochable de votre arme et de
votre satisfaction pendant de longues annes.
Lorsque vous dsirez nettoyer ou entretenir votre carabine, nous vous recommandons de procder comme
suit :
1. Avant tout, mettez la sret, assurez-vous que votre
arme est dcharge et que le chargeur est vide.
2. Ouvrez la culasse jusqu son accrochage.
3. Introduisez par la bouche du canon, votre baguette de
nettoyage, dabord munie dun chiffon et ensuite si cest
ncessaire dun couvillon en laiton, lun et lautre
pralablement imbibs dun bon solvant. Le nettoyage du
canon et de la chambre consiste essentiellement liminer
tous les rsidus de poudre. Pendant ce nettoyage, prenez
soin particulirement ne pas rafler la bouche du canon.
Tout coup ou dommage occasionn cette partie essentielle de votre carabine, pourrait avoir des consquences
dsastreuses sur sa prcision.
4. Aprs le nettoyage du canon, schez-le convenablement
et enduisez-le dun film dhuile Lgia au moyen dune
flanelle propre.
5. Passez un chiffon sec sur lensemble culasse-verrou et
lintrieur de la carcasse en lintroduisant par le logement
du chargeur (que le verrou soit ferm ou non).
Enlevez lhuile sche adhrent aux parois et au transporteur du chargeur et remplacez-la par un film trs lger
dhuile frache.
6. Passez un chiffon huil sur toutes les surfaces mtalli-

ques extrieures en veillant effacer les tches de doigts

(la transpiration est souvent acide). Le bon sens recommande dhuiler lgrement la carabine chaque fois quelle
subit des conditions atmosphriques ou des manipulations dfavorables.
7. De temps autre, examinez le piston du cylindre gaz
et les branches de glissires pour les dbarrasser de tout
rsidu ventuel. Ceci ne devient toutefois ncessaire
quaprs une utilisation intensive.
Pour atteindre le mcanisme, enlevez le garde-main de la
faon suivante :
Chargeur vide engag, ouvrez la culasse jusqu son accrochage.
Retirez lanneau grenadire du garde main puis desserrez
la vis de fixation de ce dernier au moyen dune clef Allen
n4 placer dans le trou de la tte de vis.
Faites glisser le garde-main vers lavant pour lenlever et
dcouvrir ainsi le mcanisme (fig.12 et 13).
(Note : le garde-main ne peut tre enlev que si la culasse
est ouverte).
Nettoyez lextrieur du piston partiellement dgag, du
cylindre gaz (fig.14) et les autres pices apparentes
laide dun pinceau trs lgrement huil. Schez ensuite
le piston et autant que possible le cylindre gaz. Ceux-ci
doivent tre dbarrasss de toute huile, afin de ne pas favoriser la formation de calamine. En prvision dune longue priode de mise hors service de larme, vous pourrez
huiler les pices plus abondamment, mais noubliez pas
de les nettoyer avant toute nouvelle utilisation de larme.
En aucun cas, ne modifiez le rglage de la prise de gaz,
il est impratif que cette opration soit ralise par un armurier qualifi.
Le remontage du garde-main seffectue dans lordre inverse
du dmontage. Veillez ouvrir la culasse avant remontage.
Evitez de forcer, le garde-main pourrait se briser.
8. Les bois se nettoient au moyen dune huile de qualit,
Browning recommande lutilisation de Lgia Spray spcial
bois.
9. PAR PRINCIPE, RANGEZ VOS ARMES ET MUNITIONS DANS DES ENDROITS SPARS ET
HORS DE PORTE DES ENFANTS.
Lutilisation dun coffre fort Browning serait parfaitement
indiqu.
Placez votre carabine dans un endroit sec et modrment
ar, loin de sources de trop fortes chaleurs, afin que les
bois perdent progressivement lhumidit ventuelle sans
se dformer ou se fendiller.

FUNZIONAMENTO
Il principio di funzionamento, estremamente semplice,
basato sulla derivazione di una parte dei gas di combustione verso un pistone. Sotto la spinta di questi gas, il pistone arretra, respinge i pezzi mobili (otturatore e culatta)
verso la parte posteriore dellarma e provoca lapertura del
meccanismo e lespulsione del bossolo. Sotto la pressione
della molla di recupero, il gruppo culatta e otturatore
riportato in avanti e permette ad una nuova cartuccia di
entrare nella camera. Una caratteristica originale della
carabina risiede nel suo sistema di otturazione rotante:
i tenoni dellotturatore si appoggiano sulla parete stessa
della canna, lotturatore forma con questa un gruppo rigido che favorisce la precisione della carabina. (fig. 1)
Il funzionamento semiautomatico della vostra carabina
permette di sparare automaticamente una dopo laltra, le
cartucce contenute nellarma. Quando lultima cartuccia
stata espulsa, la culatta rimane aperta sotto lazione del
fermo del carrello.
Per riportare i pezzi mobili in avanti, occorre abbassare

- un fermo del carrello ergonomico, che facilita il caricamento e lo scaricamento;

- una regolazione precisa del sistema di presa di gas, che
permette al vostro armiere di adattare la carabina alla munizione scelta;
- un sistema di aste e di massa specifica, che garantiscono
un funzionamento irreprensibile con le differenti munizioni utilizzate;
- un calciolo antirinculo;
- un sistema di regolazione della pendenza e del vantaggio del calcio, che permettono un adeguamento perfetto
fra larma ed il cacciatore;
- un indicatore di chiusura (punto rosso), situato sulla
finestra despulsione, che permette con una sola occhiata
di verificare se la carabina sia ben chiusa;
- organi di mira adatti alle esigenze del cacciatore.
RACCOMANDAZIONI
Avete appena preso possesso della vostra carabina. Per
garantirvi contro ogni tipo di corrosione, abbiamo lubrificato le superfici esterne ed interne della canna; se lo
ritenete opportuno, asciugare lolio in eccedenza con un
panno morbido, pulito e secco. Prima di tirare la vostra
prima cartuccia, occorre pulire con cura lanima della
canna: questa deve essere asciutta per evitare le sovrapressioni e gli scarti del punto dimpatto. Introdurre nella
canna una bacchetta di pulizia munita di un pezzo di flanella, inserendola attraverso la bocca della canna.
MUNIZIONI
Utilizzare soltanto munizioni che hanno lo stesso calibro
di quello iscritto sul lato destro della canna.
Verificare ogni cartuccia che inserite nella vostra arma da
fuoco.
Utilizzare soltanto cartucce affidabili, con il calibro adatto
alla vostra arma. Questo calibro inciso sulla faccia destra
della canna e sul dorso del caricatore. Abbiamo studiato e
fabbricato la vostra carabina con i coefficienti di sicurezza
appropriati, tuttavia Browning declina ogni responsabilit in caso di danni provocati dalluso di cartucce che
sviluppano pressioni eccessive o che hanno dimensioni
non conformi alle normative CIP o SAAMI.
Browning raccomanda luso di cartucce Winchester.

lazione, il caricatore potr diventare inamovibile e non

trasformabile.
La carabina ora pronta per il tiro muovendo semplicemente la sicura in posizione fuori sicurezza ed azionando il grilletto.

SPECIFICHE TECNICHE
SICURA
La sicura della vostra carabina del tipo trasversale.
Essa si trova sul ponticello, dietro il grilletto. La grande
superficie del pulsante consente un agevole maneggio
dellarma. Spinta a destra (fig. 3), larma in posizione di
sicurezza, con il grilletto bloccato. Spinta a sinistra (fig.
4), appare un trattino rosso: larma in posizione fuori
sicurezza, pronta per il tiro. Dovete avere il riflesso di
lasciare sempre la vostra arma con la sicura in posizione
sicurezza, sia essa carica o meno. Disinserire la sicura
soltanto quando siete pronti per il tiro.
CARICAMENTO
La vostra carabina dotata di un caricatore amovibile
(fissato su un supporto rotante), o inamovibile oppure di
un caricatore flangiato , secondo la legislazione in vigore
in ciascun paese. Questo caricatore ha una capacit che
dipende anchessa dalla legislazione in vigore in ciascun
paese. Una cartuccia supplementare, introdotta in precedenza nella camera, aumenter di una cartuccia la capacit totale della vostra arma.
Per caricare la vostra arma, vi consigliamo di procedere
come segue:
1. Durante il caricamento della vostra carabina, mantenere sempre la bocca della canna puntata in una direzione
non a rischio, con la sicura in posizione sicurezza e con
le dita lontane dal grilletto. Aprire il meccanismo ed accertarsi che la vostra carabina sia completamente scarica,
poi procedere come segue:
2. Espellere il caricatore della carabina tirando allindietro
con il vostro indice, la sicura del fondo del tubo serbatoio, situato sul retro del caricatore. Il caricatore cadr
nella vostra mano o girer. (figura 5).
3. Aprire la culatta fino allo scatto (arresto culatta) ed
introdurre una cartuccia nella camera.
3. Disinserire la culatta abbassando il fermo del carrello
(fig. 2).
4. Inserire un caricatore pieno sul supporto rotante e
riempire il caricatore vuoto.
5. Richiudere il supporto rotante del caricatore od inserire il caricatore flangiato fino allo scatto.
N.B. Le versioni standard possono differire secondo la
legislazione in vigore in ciascun paese. Secondo la legis-

Per rimuovere un caricatore vuoto, con il supporto caricatore aperto, afferrare le pareti laterali del caricatore
fra il pollice e il dito medio e premere lindice sul bordo
posteriore del supporto rotante. Il caricatore si staccher
dalla sede senza sforzo. Per inserire un caricatore pieno
nel supporto, inserire il becco della parete anteriore nella
scanalatura corrispondente del supporto rotante e premere forte il caricatore nel suo supporto (fig. 6). Se non
disponete di caricatori di riserva o se il caricatore fisso,
potete rialimentare direttamente quello dellarma come
indicato sulla (fig. 7). Accertarsi sempre, qualunque sia
la soluzione adottata, di posizionare correttamente le
cartucce nel caricatore, per evitare ogni tipo dincidente
dalimentazione durante il tiro.
TIRO
Quando siete pronti al tiro, spostare la sicura in posizione fuori sicurezza, prendere la mira e premere sul
grilletto.
Dopo aver fatto fuoco, la vostra carabina espeller automaticamente il bossolo della cartuccia tirata ed alimenter una seconda cartuccia. Se volete continuare a sparare,
riprendere la mira e premere di nuovo sul grilletto. Dopo
aver sparato ed espulso lultima cartuccia, la culatta rimane aperta sotto lazione del fermo del carrello. Se avete
finito di sparare, lasciare la culatta in posizione arretrata,
il che vi consentir dispezionare visivamente la camera
dellanima della canna e il caricatore per accertarvi che
non contengano alcuna cartuccia. Riposizionare immediatamente la sicura in posizione sicurezza.
SCARICAMENTO
Durante loperazione di scaricamento della vostra arma,
posizionare sempre la sicura in posizione sicurezza e
tenere sempre la bocca della canna in direzione non a
rischio. Mantenere le dita lontane dal grilletto.
1) Aprire la culatta tirando la leva darmamento indietro
fino allo scatto (figura 8) ed espellere tutte le cartucce
presenti allinterno della camera. Lasciare la culatta in posizione arretrata con il meccanismo aperto.
2) Ispezionare accuratamente linterno della camera della
canna per accertarsi che sia vuota.
3) Rimuovere il caricatore tirando la sicura del fondo del
tubo serbatoio allindietro o farlo pivotare verso il basso.

4) Con la camera vuota ed il caricatore rimosso, chiudere
la culatta abbassando il fermo del carrello (fig. 2) ed inserire la sicura in posizione sicurezza.
5) Procedere allestrazione delle cartucce dal caricatore,
spingendo le cartucce in avanti, poi inserire o richiudere
il caricatore vuoto nel fondo del tubo serbatoio della carabina.
GRILLETTO
La vostra carabina stata regolata in fabbrica per darvi
una partenza netta, tarata per una pressione di circa 1,8
Kg, compatibili tuttavia con le pi rigorose norme di sicurezza.
QUALUNQUE SIANO LE CIRCONSTANZE,
NON MODIFICARE MAI O NON FARE MAI
MODIFICARE IL GRILLETTO, LA SICURA O
QUALUNQUE ALTRO PEZZO FACENTE PARTE DEL MECCANISMO DI TIRO.
AGGIUSTAMENTO DEGLI ORGANI DI MIRA
stata nostra cura dare alla vostra carabina una precisione eccezionale per una carabina semiautomatica. Il
modello da battuta, comporta una bindella a becco doca,
cos come un mirino aggiustabile in altezza e trasversalmente.
Il modello appostamento possiede un alzo fisso e un
mirino aggiustabile in altezza e trasversalmente. La vostra carabina BAR Zenith stata regolata in fabbrica a 90
metri con munizioni Winchester mirando nel modo rappresentato sulla fig. 9. Se cacciate abitualmente su distanze o con munizioni particolari o se prendete la mira
in maniera differente, ovvio che dovrete personalizzare
laggiustamento della vostra arma. Potete inoltre trovare
interessante aggiustarla alla DRO (Distanza di Regolazione Ottimale) secondo la munizione scelta; a questo scopo
consultare le tabelle di tiro del fabbricante. Asciugare con
cura la vostra canna e sacrificare una cartuccia per bruciarla. Poi, sdraiatevi e senza appoggiare la carabina su
un oggetto duro, mirare bene il bersaglio che avrete posto
alla distanza voluta, osservando le regole di sicurezza. In
funzione del punto dimpatto sul bersaglio, procedere alla
correzione del mirino in altezza e in derivazione trasversale. Se limpatto troppo alto dovrete rialzare il mirino,
se troppo a destra dovrete spostare il mirino verso destra
(e viceversa). Ricominciare loperazione finch gli impatti
si trovino sul punto mirato. Confermare la precisione della regolazione con un tiro di minimo 3 palle. La carabina
pu essere dotata di un cannocchiale da applicare sulla
carcassa. Questa possiede quattro punti per il fissaggio di
una base. Ogni anno, allinizio della stagione venatoria,
effettuare un tiro di controllo dellaggiustamento della

vostra carabina.
Far controllare in quel periodo la regolazione della presa
di gas da parte di un armiere specializzato.
REGOLAZIONE DEL CALCIO
La vostra carabina BAR Zenith possiede un sistema di regolazione della pendenza e del vantaggio del calcio che
consente un perfetta simbiosi fra larma e il cacciatore.
Avete a vostra disposizione per questa regolazione 5 distanziatori di calcio, presenti separatamente nellastuccio
e un distanziatore di calcio, montato di serie sulla vostra
carabina. Potete diminuire od aumentare la pendenza di
pi o meno 3,5mm, in corrispondenza del tallone del calcio (sopra il calciolo) rispetto alla pendenza standard. Potete inoltre modificare il vantaggio di 3 mm verso sinistro
o di 3 mm verso destra, in corrispondenza del tallone del
calcio rispetto al vantaggio standard.
I 6 distanziatori di calcio sono numerati rispettivamente
1, 2 e 3 e 1R/1L, 2R/2L e 3R/3L. Questa numerazione
presente sulla zona inferiore sinistra di ogni distanziatore
di calcio (fig 10). Il distanziatore di calcio N2 montato
sullarma in fabbrica. Se la pendenza e il vantaggio sono
corretti, non toccare nulla. Se occorre regolare la vostra
carabina, bisogna smontare il calciolo. Poi, con una lunga
chiave Allen n5, svitare la vite del calcio e rimuovere il
calcio e il distanziatore di calcio (fig. 11).
Parecchie situazioni possono presentarsi:
1. Il vantaggio della vostra carabina corretto ma volete
aggiustare la pendenza.
La pendenza troppo forte: posizionare il distanziatore
di calcio 1 sul calcio e rimontare questultimo nellordine
inverso a quello di smontaggio.
La pendenza troppo debole : posizionare il distanziatore
di calcio 3 sul calcio e rimontare questultimo nellordine
inverso a quello di smontaggio.
2. Il vantaggio della vostra carabina non corretto.
Il vantaggio troppo a sinistra e:
- La pendenza corretta: posizionare il distanziatore di
calcio 2R/2L (con liscrizione 2R lato calcio) sul calcio
e rimontare questultimo nellordine inverso a quello di
smontaggio.
- La pendenza troppo forte: posizionare il distanziatore
di calcio 1R/1L (con liscrizione 1R lato calcio) sul calcio
e rimontare questultimo nellordine inverso a quello di
smontaggio.
- La pendenza troppo debole: posizionare il distanziatore di calcio 3R/3L (con liscrizione 3R lato calcio)
sul calcio e rimontare questultimo nellordine inverso a
quello di smontaggio.
Il vantaggio troppo a destra e:
- La pendenza corretta: posizionare il distanziatore di

calcio 2R/2L (con liscrizione 2L lato calcio) sul calcio e
rimontare questultimo nellordine inverso a quello di
smontaggio.
- La pendenza troppo forte: posizionare il distanziatore
di calcio 1R/1L (con liscrizione 1L lato calcio) sul calcio
e rimontare questultimo nellordine inverso a quello di
smontaggio.
- La pendenza troppo debole: posizionare il distanziatore di calcio 3R/3L (con liscrizione 3L lato calcio) sul
calcio e rimontare questultimo nellordine inverso a
quello di smontaggio.
MANUTENZIONE
Prima di provvedere alle procedure di pulizia, posizionare
la sicura in posizione sicurezza. Aprire il meccanismo
ed accertarsi che la vostra carabina sia completamente
scarica. Mantenere sempre la bocca della canna puntata
in una direzione non a rischio.
Per darvi intera soddisfazione, la vostra carabina richiede un minimo di manutenzione, che potete realizzare
voi stessi. Browning raccomanda luso degli oli Lgia
Spray, specialmente studiati per la manutenzione delle
vostre armi.
Per una manutenzione pi profonda, almeno una volta
lanno, affidare la vostra carabina ad un armiere specializzato, per garantirvi un funzionamento irreprensibile
della vostra arma e per darvi soddisfazione durante lunghi anni.
Quando volete pulire od eseguire la manutenzione della
vostra carabina, vi raccomandiamo di procedere come
segue:
1. Prima di tutto, inserire la sicura, accertarsi che la vostra
arma sia scarica e che il caricatore sia vuoto.
2. Aprire la culatta fino al suo agganciamento.
3. Introdurre attraverso la bocca della canna, la bacchetta
di pulizia, munita di uno straccio e poi, se necessario, di
uno scovolo di ottone, tutti i due imbevuti con un buon
solvente. La pulizia della canna e della camera consiste
essenzialmente nel eliminare tutti i residui di polvere.
Durante questa pulizia, aver cura in particolare di non
scalfire la bocca della canna. Ogni colpo o danno provocato su questa parte essenziale della vostra carabina, potrebbe avere conseguenze disastrose sulla sua precisione.
4. Dopo aver pulito la canna, asciugatela bene e con un
panno pulito, ungetela con una pellicola di olio Lgia.
5. Passare uno straccio secco sul gruppo culatta-otturatore e allinterno della carcassa, inserendolo dallalloggiamento del caricatore (che lotturatore sia chiuso o meno).
Togliere lolio secco che aderisce alle pareti e al trasportatore del caricatore e sostituirlo con una pellicola leggerissima dolio fresco.
6. Passare uno straccio oliato su tutte le superfici metalli-

che esterne, avendo cura di eliminare le tracce di dita (il

sudore spesso acido). Il buon senso consiglia doliare
leggermente la carabina ogni volta che essa sia sottoposta
a condizioni atmosferiche o a manipolazioni sfavorevoli.
7. Ogni tanto, esaminare il pistone del cilindro a gas e le
aste delle slitte per togliere ogni eventuale residuo. Tuttavia, questo diventa necessario soltanto dopo un uso
intensivo. Per raggiungere il meccanismo, rimuovere
lasta nel modo seguente: Con il caricatore vuoto inserito,
aprire la culatta fino al suo agganciamento.
Rimuovere lanello porta cinghia dellasta, poi allentare la
vite di fissaggio di questultima con una chiave Allen n4
da posizionare nel foro della testa della vite. Far scivolare
lastina in avanti per toglierla e scoprire cos il meccanismo (fig.12 e 13). (Nota: lastina pu essere tolta soltanto
se la culatta aperta).
Pulire lesterno del pistone parzialmente rimosso, del cilindro a gas (fig.14) e gli altri pezzi visibili, con un pennello leggermente unto. Asciugare poi il pistone e nei
limiti del possibile il cilindro a gas. Questi non devono
pi contenere olio, per non favorire la formazione di calamina. In previsione di un lungo periodo di inattivit
dellarma, potrete oliare i pezzi pi abbondantemente, ma
non dimenticate di pulirli prima di adoperare di nuovo
larma. In nessun caso dovete modificare la regolazione
della presa di gas, imperativo che questa operazione
venga eseguita da un armiere qualificato. Il rimontaggio
dellastina si effettua nellordine inverso a quello dello
smontaggio. Abbiate cura di aprire la culatta prima del
rimontaggio. Evitare di forzare, lastina potrebbe spezzarsi.
8. I legni si puliscono con un olio di buona qualit, Browning raccomanda luso del Lgia Spray speciale per legno.
9. PER PRINCIPIO, RIPORRE LE VOSTRE ARMI
E MUNIZIONI IN POSTI SEPARATI E FUORI
DALLA PORTATA DEI BAMBINI.
L uso di una cassaforte Browning sarebbe perfettamente
indicato. Sistemare la vostra carabina in un luogo secco
e moderatamente ventilato, fuori da ogni fonte di calore
troppo elevata, affinch i legni perdano progressivamente
leventuale umidit senza sformarsi n screpolarsi.
