Interstate Applicant Information Sheet

Lodging an interstate application for the


Victorian Working with Children Check
1. You can apply for a Working with Children (WWC) Check by filling in your application online
at https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/wwccu/onlineapplication.doj and printing out your
Application Summary and Receipt. Do not sign your Application Summary at this stage.
2. When applying, you must provide at least 3 documents of acceptable identification. The list of
acceptable documents is available on the website.
These must:
be current and original
total 100 points or more
include a document from each category
If your documents do not add up to 100 points you can add documents from any category.
If you do not have a Category A document then you can submit 3 Category B documents
and a Category C document. One of the Category B documents must be worth at least 40
points.
3. Interstate applicants need to provide 2 passport sized photos that meet the requirements
stipulated on the website. Fix one of the photos to the Application Summary in the
designated spot. The 2nd photo must be certified on the back by a certifying officer who is
authorised to witness statutory declarations in your state.
4. Then in front of this certifying officer, sign your WWC Check Application Summary.
5. There is no application fee for volunteers but the fee for employees is $105.90. The fee can
be paid by either a bank cheque or money order made payable to The Department of Justice
& Regulation.
Please note it is unlawful to use a volunteer WWC Check card for paid employment.

Certifying Officer Information


1. Copies of the documents must be certified by a person who is authorised to witness statutory
declarations in your state. Each document must be certified separately and must show clearly:

The words certified and true copy of the original

The signature of the certifying officer; and

The name and address or provider/registration number (where appropriate) of the


certifying officer, legibly printed below the signature. It must be possible from the
details provided to contact the certifying officer if necessary.

2. The 2nd passport sized photo must be certified stating This is a true photograph of <Full Name
of Applicant>, and included with the all the documents you send to the department to
process.
3.

The certifying officer must write and sign a separate statement that confirms they have
witnessed the applicant signing the WWC Check Application Summary.

Lodging the WWC Check Application Form


Before sending all your documents to the WWC Check Unit for processing:
1. Record the receipt number that appears on the top right-hand corner of the Application receipt.
2. Check that you have included:

your completed WWC Check Application form and receipt


certified true copies of your identification documents
2 passport sized photos, one certified on the back by the certifying officer
a bank cheque or money order for $105.90 if you are applying for an Employee WWC
Check
a separate statement completed and signed by the certifying officer that confirms they
have witnessed your signature on the WWC Check Application Summary.

When all your documents are correct you can mail them, together with the application fee if you
are applying for an Employee WWC Check to:

Once the WWC Check Unit has received your application and confirmed that you have provided all
the necessary information and documents have been provided, an Application receipt will be
returned to you in within 2 weeks.
