Your Relationship with the Holy

Spirit
So he answered and said to me: This is the word of
the Lord to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by
power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.
(Zechariah 4:6).

The exporting oil countries are those that are the

least affected by the present Global economic
crisis. Oil is that which controls the world. The
spiritual was not first, but the natural, and
afterward the spiritual. God intended it from the
beginning that the oil of the Holy Spirit should
control all of creation. The earth was without form
and void; and darkness was on the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the
face of the waters (Genesis 1:2). The anointing
breaks the yoke of darkness and the emptiness of
the deep. Christians or anointed ones should be the
kings of the earth that determine the outcome of
history and not the ungodly. They are the elected
anointed kings and priests of God that are
appointed to rule the earth. And of Asher he said:
“Asher is most blessed of sons; let him be favored
by his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil
(Deuteronomy 33:24, emphasis added). To have
your foot dipped in oil is to walk in the anointed
calling of God that rests upon your life. Whenever,
a person is fulfilling his or her calling in God, the
anointing starts to flow. If you are a pastor, then
pastors, if you are prophet, fulfill the office of a
prophet and if you are an engineer do the work of
an engineer according to the anointing and faith
you have received. I am an anointed husband and
father, I am an anointed prophet of the Lord and I
am a scribe writing down the thoughts,
imaginations and desires of my friend the King of
kings.
In this hard economic times money will flow from
the world to the church so that the gospel of the
kingdom of God may reach all ends of the earth.
Mighty outpourings of the Holy Spirit will spread
like wild fire to all corners of the earth. At first it will
look like the great harvest of souls that is coming in
but it is not yet it. It is a harvest of laborers that
God is preparing for the great harvest. After this
time a mighty revival will break out which will be
the great harvest. It will last until the house of the
Lord is complete. Relentlessly these laborers will
work until the last soul is received in the Beloved.
Though it will be swift like an uncontrollable fire in
the wilds this will also be a process that will take
some time.

I was always wondering while the Scriptures placed

so little emphasis on the glory of the Holy Spirit in
comparison with the glory of the Father and of the
glory of the Son. Because God is one, the Holy
Spirit like the Son is meek and lowly in heart, has
come to reveal the glory of the Father and of the
Son. The Holy Spirit inspired all of the Scriptures,
which reveal the mighty works of God. When a
person is moved by the Holy Spirit, whether by
speech or anointed works, he or she reveals the
glory of God. Prophecy never came by the will of
man, but holy men of God spoke as they were
moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 2:21). It is the
nature of the Holy Spirit to reveal to us the glory of
Christ and of the Father.

Our spirits were made alive to God when we

received Christ’s salvation through faith. However,
our bodies are dead to God because of sin.
Nevertheless, our bodies are the home or temple of
the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit or Comforter is to
reveal the character and works of God in our lives.

The Spirit of the Lord is omnipresent, in other

words, He is everywhere. So, it is wrong in one
sense to say God is not with us. He will never leave
us or forsake us. Where can I go from your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend
into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in
hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the
morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the
sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and your
right hand shall hold me (Psalm 139:7-10). We
never can get outside of His omnipresence.

Although we cannot escape God’s omnipresence it

is possible to loose the anointing of God, which is
His special presence. It happened with Samson.
And she said, “The Philistines are upon you
Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I
will go out as before, at other times, and shake
myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord
had departed from him (Judges 16:20, emphasis
added). The tragedy was that he did not realize
that the anointing of the Spirit was no longer upon
him.

The problem with Samson was that he was fooling

around with things that surrounded the anointing
that were upon his life. He was compromising the
secret of His anointing until he lost it. When he lost
the anointing he did not know it until he discovered
that he was powerless. It is so easy to offend the
Spirit of Holiness. All you need to do is to start
compromising the anointed areas of your life.

I had experiences of being backslidden. On the

surface it looked like I was serving the Lord as
before. However, deep down in my heart I knew
that I was busy to backslide. I was busy to cut down
on my prayer life because my thirst for the Lord
was the first thing to disappear. I was still praying
much but the Holy Spirit is in a sense very
romantic. My “romantic” prayers have disappeared.
It is those prayers where you make time to sit down
to worship the Lord and by the anointing declares
the mighty works of God. It is the time when the
fountain of living water flows forth from within you
and you declare with thanksgiving your love for the
Lord. This is moments when you are experiencing
times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord in
a very real way. I am not referring to feelings but a
constant sensing of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
This is when the cross of Jesus Christ becomes so
real to you that all you see is the mercy, grace and
loving kindness of our Lord. It is times when you
have only eyes for the Lord and regardless of
circumstances you constantly experience a deep
underlying peace and joy of the Lord.

Then my focus started to wonder and I beheld in

unbelief the cares of this world that unfolded like a
dry wasteland before me. I fell from the heavenly
realm, where the eagles dwell and I made my
dwelling with the harsh ostrich and the cunning
jackal. The fountain of joy started to dry up and the
shades of peace and rest gave way for the harsh
desert sun of irritation and discontent of the flesh.
Righteousness disappeared and the pointing of the
finger and sitting in the chair of Moses took over.
Faultfinding and accusation filled my heart like a
vicious nightmare. I have become arrogant and
pompous in my heart even to a point of blaming
and condemning the glorious Lord for His dealings
in my life. I was discontent with my life situation
and bitterness wells up in my soul and turned my
heart into a cesspool of condemnation. Yet, I was
not aware that the anointing of the Lord left me.

It was an unnecessary long road back for me to a

position where I knew the Holy Spirit as before.
Repentance means to turn around and go back and
found God where I have left Him. Why did it take
me a long time? The enemy of my soul has blinded
my eyes so that I could not see the vision which the
Lord by His Holy Spirit had burned into my bones.
The vision is that Christ has died for me and
accomplished a perfect work on my behalf. Since
the time I came to Christ, God saw me as perfect as
He sees Jesus. He treated me in the same manner
as He is treating our Lord Jesus Christ. I have not to
do anything but to believe that He has died for me
and provided for me all things that pertain to life
and godliness. I do not need on my own merits to
affect a transformation in my life because Jesus has
done it all. I only need to look at the crucified Christ
and believe that it is finished. It is through faith in
Christ’s accomplished work on the cross and on
account of His merits that changes are taking place
in my life. It is not me trying to perform acts of
holiness because Christ had done it all for me, I am
just sharing in His accomplishments, which is to
share His life with Him. It does not involve passivity
but living works through the eternal Spirit of God by
focusing on Christ all the time as you exercise the
things you believe in. It is not by might nor by
power but by His Spirit. I have received the Holy
Spirit by faith and not through works so I have not
to work for righteousness but my thoughts and
actions are driven only through faith in what I
believe was revealed to me according to revelation
from the Holy Spirit.

I have ceased from my own works as God has

ceased from His works because I am in the Beloved
and the Beloved is in me. Now, I have the privilege
to enjoy Him in me, because I believe He has
performed a perfect work in me. I am in Him and
He is in me, therefore, I have entered into His rest
because He has ceased from His works. I grow daily
in the grace that He has provided for me on the
cross. The message of the cross is that salvation
and perfection is a free gift through Jesus Christ our
Lord and not through the works of the Law. Any
message different from the cross of Christ is deceit.

The Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, who is

the fundamental person to help you to have a
relationship with God and to live in the realm of
heaven. If you sin the Holy Spirit convicts you of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. He will
also remind you that you have an advocate with
the Father that pleads your cause. Therefore, there
is no condemnation for those who are in Christ
Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh,
but according to the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit
is a decision that you take through faith in the
complete work of our Lord. He has provided for you
to walk in the Spirit. Believe it and take it through
faith. You need not to earn it because Jesus has
paid the price for it. He made provision for you to
have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, which is the
promise of the Father to you and your children.

When Samson lost his anointing the Philistines

blinded him, but he was already blinded by the
iniquity of his own heart. The Philistines took him to
Gaza, bound him with bronze fetters, and he
became a grinder in prison. When I fell from the
realm of Spirit I was blinded and come into
bondage of a bitter heart beholding only my
problems and I was complaining about it. It is not
good if you know you are backsliding and you do
nothing about it. It becomes worse and worse. Until
one day that you know you are not living but just
existing as a mere man of flesh.

When I tried to come back to the Lord I was trying it

through all sorts of works. I was blinded and could
not behold the cross so I was grinding it out like
Samson. However, the hair of Samson’s head
began to grow again after it had been shaven
(Judges 16:22). My works and efforts did not restore
my relationship with the Holy Spirit. After some
weeks I came to the end of my rope and I broke
down crying uncontrollably before the Lord. When I
stood outside my house I saw a vision for the first
time in months. My visions dried up during the
rebellious state of my heart. It became fewer and
fewer until there were no visions anymore. I do not
give it as a rule but I am only relating to you my
experience. I saw a vision of the Lord on the cross.
That turns my focus on the Lord again and I had a
breakthrough toward the restoration of my
relationship with the Holy Spirit. The peace and joy
was instantly back. However “my hair” was still
growing. I had to grow back into the grace of God.
As the revelation of the cross of Jesus Christ
increased in my heart my relationship with the Holy
Spirit grew stronger.

Eventually, Samson’s hair grew back and the

anointing was back as before. Eventually, your
relationship with God is restored and you
experience the same anointing and more. After
Samson prayed to the Lord he killed in his death
more Philistines than he had killed in his entire life.
So to believe that you have died with Christ and
you have been raised with Him in a new life the
anointing only increases. Paul said, “I live no longer
but Christ lives in me.” This is where his focus
dwelled. As a man believes in his heart so is he.

Nature taught us if you cut down a tree, the stump

needs time to grow back into a full grown tree
again. If a relationship was severed or badly
damaged nature taught us that it takes time to be
restored to its former glory. As it is in the natural so
it is also in the Spirit. Love is what it is all about. To
experience the Holy Spirit is to be open to Him so
that He can transfer all His love to you. It is to have
such a thirst after God that you want Him to pour
all His love and fullness in you. We love Him
because He first loved us. As this revelation grows
in you, you come to know the love of God that
surpasses all understanding. Then you know how to
love one another and so fulfill the law of Christ. This
is true peace and joy, so great, that sometimes you
feel you can burst from the inside out. Unless you
come to experience this joy you will never know
what I am talking about.

I will start meditating on the mighty works of God

that He has done for us on the cross, just for the
pure joy of it. It is really fun to walk with the Holy
Spirit, He is so gentle. It is my joy to meditate on
the word of God because the Holy Spirit takes that
which belongs to Christ and declares it to me. I love
also to wait on the Lord just to hear His voice or just
to sit in His presence. I also love to visualize the
beauties of heaven. In these intimate moments the
Holy Spirit declares to me His hearts desires.

Obedience to God is very important in a walk with

God. Disobedience quenches the Holy Spirit and
frustrates the grace of God.

There was another time in my life when I was

engaged in an argument with God that lasted a
number of days. As I was praying, I saw a vision of
a warthog. God told me I was busy backsliding. I
could hardly believe it. I knew the Holy Spirit is
never wrong. So, I asked God why He did not show
me a domesticated pig but a warthog. A pig
symbolizes backsliding. But it has happened to
them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns
to his own vomit,” and “a sow, having washed, to
her wallowing in the mire (2 Peter 2:22). He showed
me a warthog because it was different from
backsliding into gross sins. In my reasoning with
the Lord, I was busy losing that very deep intimate
relationship with the Holy Spirit and He regarded
that as backsliding. That deep relationship with Him
is more precious to me than anything in the world
or in heaven. My whole life revolves around
closeness to the Lord.

This is not about gaining revelation but it is to know

Him. This is to enter into His rest, having peace and
joy unspeakable and full of glory. It is so natural for
one to be selfish but if you seek after Him, He will
reveal Himself to you. He will pour Himself out in
you. You will get to know his unselfish love for us.
The more you be in His presence the more you will
become like Him. It will be more real than a couple
that is married for 60 years and has become pretty
much the same. You will think like He thinks, you
will feel like He feels. I have experienced His joys
but also His concerns and His sorrows. In His
presence you learn how to intercede and pray with
Him. The Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses.
Sometimes we do not know how to pray as we
should but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for
us with groaning, which cannot be uttered. He
makes intercession on behalf of the saints
according to the will of God. Believe me if I tell you
it is all worth it.

Sometimes I will say, “Lord purify me; perfect me in

Your love.” Then He will remind me that the Lord
Jesus has already done this for us. Then I will say,
“Holy Spirit gives me an ever growing awareness of
it. Burn it into my bones.” I will meditate on it until
it lives in me. Works is so much part of the fleshly
nature. Sometimes I will say, “What must I do, to
know You better.” One day the Holy Spirit told me,
“Nothing.” Then I knew the Lord has done it all and
I must just believe it and persevere with it so that
He can work His patience in me.”

Where will this lead us? You cannot want to do your

homework in a worship service at church. The
Scriptures teach us to be filled with the Spirit,
speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and make melody in your
heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things
to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ (Ephesians 5:18-20). This is what must
happen when saints gather together.

What will happen if the saints are walking in this

way? Fountains of living water will spurt open from
the inside like in the days of the flood and the Lord
of the harvest will sent his rain and we will have
mighty revivals and the harvest of holy ones will
filled the barns of the Lord.

The Holy Spirit is there to bring you into God’s wish.

He leads and guides you to please God so that the
works of God may be made manifested in you. Your
ministry will always be shallow if you are
independent and selfish. A ministry can be
anything. It starts at home. It is for a man to be a
husband and a father. The Holy Spirit leads and
guides you into the love of God. Love is a ministry
of identification with the lives of people. For
example, in Exodus 32, God was about to destroy
the children of Israel. Moses identified with the
children of Israel by interceding on their behalf.
Moses stood before God and said, “Forgive their
iniquity – otherwise blot my name out of the book.”
Love is not something that you switch on or off at
will. It is either all the time present or all the time
absent. Unless you have a deep relationship with
the Holy Spirit there is no way that you can produce
the kind of faith, hope and love that pleases God. It
is not by might nor by power but by the Holy Spirit.
Without the love of the Spirit you will start out with
much natural zeal but you will run dry very soon
because the oil of His anointing is missing. So, your
own efforts are like iron on iron – the whole
machinery will cease up! The Holy Spirit is the one
that pours God’s love into our hearts.

Christ is our greatest example. He loved us, and

identified Himself with us. He borne our grief and
carried our sorrows. By His stripes we were healed.
For our transgression He was stricken and by His
offering He justified many. Once and for all He
made a sacrifice that brings mercy and grace to us.
God will never again be angry with us and He will
never cease to bless us for all eternity. Our nature
of death was transferred to Him and His life and
righteousness were transferred to us. This is true
identification in love. There is not such a thing as
spiritual growth unless you grow in love for God and
your neighbor. All other things will pass away like
mist in the sun. To believe those things will remain
is the illusion of deception. Knowledge puffs up but
love edifies.
