The shortlists and the awards ceremony

Once again we are delighted to have received over 700 entries for WJECs Moving Image
Awards this year. Huge congratulations to everyone who entered! The standard of all work
was amazingly high and much work was exceptional, making it extremely difficult for the judges,
some of whom needed extra time to produce these shortlists. Hence the slight delay in
publishing the shortlists! Apologies to all!
For each category, the work of the three shortlisted candidates will be shown at the Awards
ceremony to be held at the British Film Institute, Friday 11 December 2015 between 2.00 pm
and 4.45 pm. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the ceremony separately and will be
contacted shortly. Schools and colleges who submitted entries have been sent an application
form for places at the ceremony (which may have to be balloted for owing to high demand). We
have already received several applications. All places must be applied for through schools and
colleges by 3 November 2015.

The special mentions and the showreel

Additional work has been highlighted for special mention. Although this work will not be shown
at the Awards ceremony, it will be put on a showreel of work to be published on WJEC's
dedicated Moving Image Awards website in the early new year. This showreel will also include
other work which was selected for each categorys longlist (some 15 works per category).
There are two contenders for the prize for the best work produced by entrants 16 or under.
Only these top two contenders' work will be shown at the Awards ceremony itself.
