INTRODUCTION

LGBT Community- According to the dictionary it is generally referred to as

Lesbian, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender. Simply known as gay community.
The group is united by a common culture to pride diversity, individuality and
sexuality. It is a widely diverse community in which is practice in any country in
the world. It is a practiced since ancient times in which people who were
practicing it are to persecuted. They being a part of the LGBT Community there
are many socially injustice that has been happening to the community physically
and morally. In many parts of the world they are being harassed because of their
sexual orientation and this harassment often turns violent and can turn to
physical assault. They are also victim of hate crimes where LGBT people
experience criminal victimization because of their adult sexual orientation where
they can experience traumatic and life threatening experiences which can even
lead to death. LGBT are also victims of verbal assaults in the community
because being one goes against the bible and the community cant still accept
theirs so some people in the community go against them because they cant
accept them. These assaults can be bad because they can lead to depression
and in the worst case suicide. They are also victim of bullying in and out of
schools even in work they are physically and verbally abused by their co-workers
or their classmates which can lead them to then again depression and suicide
because they cant get accepted to the society and if they are not accepted they
get persecuted by the people around them.

IMPLICATIONS
Physical
Bullying of LGBT children is common in schools, as well. Eighty-five percent are
verbally bullied during the course of a school year. This harassment often turns violent:
40 percent report physical bullying and 19 percent report being physically assaulted at
school because of sexual orientation. The bullying can be so intense that 30 percent of
LGBT children miss school because they feel unsafe. Further, bullying because of
sexual orientation results in increased depression, and an almost six-fold increased risk
for suicide attempts.
A recent video released by a Russian neo-Nazi group of violence against LGBT people
highlights the very real threat of hate crimes. Estimates suggest that 20 to 25 percent of
LGBT people experience criminal victimization because of their adult sexual orientation.
Further, as compared with other recent crime victims, LGBT hate-crime survivors
manifested significantly more symptoms of depression, anger, anxiety and posttraumatic stress.

Moral
Most LGBT are victims of verbal assaults in the community, they are usually out casted
and Isolated, they are also discriminated most cases are name-calls, screams,
threatens and often uses excessive sarcasm. They might also make fun of the victim in
front of other people. The abuser seeks to destroy the self-worth and confidence of the
victim. Many people do not accept them in the community sometimes even in their
family so they will be depressed and may lead to some social problems and it can affect

their lives in a big way and they will feel that they are not needed which may lead to bad
things even suicide.

BIBLE VERSES

Mark 10:6-9 - But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
It was said in the bible that in the beginning there were only two genders male and
female but as time goes by and some people became confused of their identity and
their sexual orientation changed, maybe because of their surroundings or maybe
because of their genetics. But the Bible does not accept these people because as said
in the Bible we are made as male and female so we cannot change the creation of God.

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them
have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be]
upon them.
It says here that only man and woman can have sexual relations that if a man and a
man or a woman and a woman have sexual relations it becomes a sin according to the
Bible and to our community as Christians. We cannot do this because God has made us
for the opposite sex so we should not bend the law given by God so that we can remain
close to him by following his laws and teachings.

CHURCH TEAHINGS

The Catechism of the Catholic Church, a text which contains dogmas and teachings of
the Church, names homosexual acts as intrinsically immoral and contrary to the
natural law, and names homosexual tendencies as objectively disordered. While the
Catholic Church does not consider homosexual orientation sinful in and of itself, it
does have a very negative attitude toward it. The 1986 Letter states, Although the
particular inclination of the homosexual person is not a sin, it is a more or less strong
tendency ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil; and thus the inclination itself must be
seen as an objective disorder.
The fact that Catholicism does not consider the inclination sinful is very different from
more fundamentalist Christian churches. It is one of the reasons that the Catholic
Church has not officially approved of reparative therapy. The Catechism further states
that Homosexual persons are called to chastity. However, the doctrine also specifies
that, Such persons must be accepted with respect and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust
discrimination in their regard should be avoided.
The actual experience of LGBT parishioners can vary widely across dioceses and
parishes. Many Catholic communities reach out to LGBT members to offer as full of a
welcome as possible within the limits of a Church policy that does not approve of samesex relationships, even committed ones. Other parishes have denied membership to
LGBT individuals and families. There have also been recent instances of LGBT
employees in the United States being dismissed from Catholic schools and parishes
following the celebration of a same-sex couples marriage.

The Catholic Church does not celebrate or recognize same-sex marriages, yet the
Catholic laity have been increasingly vocal in their support. Lay organizations, such as
Catholics for Marriage Equality, played a key role in the United States during the 2012
elections, and have maintained an active presence since then
Pope Francis said in the interview that the catechism, or the Roman Catholic
Church's official doctrine book, condemns homosexual acts, but he called on the
Church to love gays and lesbians, who "must be accepted with respect, compassion
and sensitivity."
In a much quoted sentence from the interview, Francis said, "Religion has the right to
express its opinion in the service of the people, but God in creation has set us free: it is
not possible to interfere spiritually in the life of a person."

REFLECTIONS
Friend Sean: A homosexual person is a type of individual who has a personal interest
on the same gender and shows no interest on the opposing gender. Now for quite some
time, allot of gay people has been coming out, rising, and increasing in numbers.
However, majority of our society in general, doesnt approve of gay people existing in
our world. Over the years, there has been a handful of cases wherein gay people have
been abused, physically and emotionally. However, due to the increasing number of gay
people as well as their supporters, there has been a stand for such intolerable abusive
actions or doings. And in the year 2015, gay marriage has been acceptable in all 50
states of the United States of America. That being said, equal rights for gay people has
been implemented across various countries all over the world. Homosexual equality is a
must. Passages in the bible stating that homosexuality is a sin or is a defying act of the
word of God, is irrelevant because all of us deserves equality as human beings who live
in this world and that every single one of us individuals, deserves respect, love, care,
and of course, equality.

Patrick Filarmeo: According to the Bible being a LGBT is wrong I think I dont completely
agree with it but I dont think that it is right ether because even if you are LGBT you are
still human and you can still change and I think it is wrong to abuse someone because
they are part of that community. I dont think its right because they we are all human
and God created us equal therefore we should treat others equally and we should treat
them as we treat the others.

Jerome Jovero:
1.) The Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) group is very visible in
our society today.
2.) Personally, I am against same sex marriage because no such event or issue is
mentioned in the bible to be in accordance with the teachings of my religion but I
respect each individual who belongs to the LGBT group.
3.) I look at them as an individual who deserves to be accepted for who they are as
long as they also act and think in accordance with what is right.

improvement of the society that counts most and not their personality.
Some of them are professionally competitive with anybody.
Some of them are actually the bread winners of their families.
Like everyone else, they are part of our society.
It is not what they are that matters, but it is what they do that matters on how the
society will treat them.
