WHAT IS MY REASONS TO BECOME HINDU ?

Hinduism, as you all well known it is one of the oldest religions in this earth where
there are so many followers all over the world. Beyond all reasons to become a
Hindu, I was actually born as a Hindu which is I am really proud to be. Since my
ancestors have been following the footsteps of the Hindu religion, and has been
brought down till the generation of my parents, so I am following the great religion
that been taught by my parents to me. Hinduism has always been with me since I am
born and it is very sentimental for me. Beside I am born as a Hindu, there are so many
reasons why I choose to be a Hindu and stick to it till my last breath. My dad is a very
spiritual person where he study and read a lot about Hinduism and follow every single
lessons in it. My dad always talk about Hinduism to me since I am very young and I
found out there a lot of benefits and moral value in this religion, and those are the
main reason for me to follow and stick to this religion. There are few examples of
benefits in Hinduism such as Meditation. Meditation is one of the important lesson
that been taught in the Hinduism religion. It helps to build my internal energy or life
force and develop compassion, love, patient and forgiveness. Meditation is often used
to clear the mind and ease many health issues, such as high bloodpressure, depression,
and anxiety. Other then Meditation, Hinduism also teaches me a lot of good lessons
such as Prayers. All the followers of Hinduism are very spiritual, they will do a lot of
prayers such as prayers of supplication, thanks giving and also praise. And even in
Malaysia till now the Hindus are following all the prayers culture such as the well
known thanks giving prayers Thaipusam which is done for the lord Muruga and also
Ponggal for the Suriya Bagahvan (which is the sun). The purpose for all the prayer
are to get guidance, requesting for assistant and also confessing sins. This made me to
feel proud that the Hindu religion still trust the god, praise him , respect him and
follow the good guidance from him. My opinion do get stronger because most of my
prayers are listen by the god and its been fulfilled most of the time. Those are the two
benefits that made me to stick to Hinduism and to dig deeper about my religion and
study about it. A part from that, I love my religion Hinduism because of its culture.
Hinduism is very rich in its culture, which have been following by the Hindus all over
the world till now. There are so many of culture that been continued from our
ancestors time till now such as Naming the new born baby, it is very common that

giving a name for a new born baby but in Hinduism they will celebrate the day very
special. The naming ceremonies will be performed on the tenth, twelfth, thirteenth,
sixteenth, nineteenth, or thirty-second day after the birth of the child. Naming a child,
according to the time and date of birth is very important in the Hindu religion,
because the child is going to carry the name for the entire life, and each and every
single name given for the new born child brings them luck, wealth and also fortune.
All the Hindus still follow the culture which is touching the feet in respect, One
touches the feet of holy men and women in recognition of their great humility and
inner attainment. A dancer or a musician touches the feet of his or her teacher before
and after each lesson. Children prostrate and touch the feet of their mother and father
at festivals and at special times, such as birthdays and before departing on a journey.
There are so many of culture that have been following by the Hinduism religion till
now, and we are so happy for it because all the culture are been introduced so many
centuries back but still the culture is a life in this generation. The other reason for me
to be so proud to be a Hindu is their Marriage. In Hinduism marriage is viewed as
sacrament and not a contract. Hindu marriage is a life-long commitment of one wife
and one husband, and is the strongest social bond that takes place between a man and
a woman. A man and woman get married as a part in the journey of the life, giving a
big commitments to each other, caring each other and be there for each other most of
the time, it also take a great responsibilities for the both man and woman to start a
new household where both of them are not longer depended on their parents. Mostly
all the marriage done are way too awesome by inviting all the relatives, friends and
family, give food for them and to get blessing from all of them to begin a new life
journey where all the decision taken depends on each other. A part from all the reason
that I give for me to a Hindu, there is something that I am so excited and feel blessed
to have such a religion, which is the festival that been celebrating by the Hindus since
our ancestors time, this is because there are so many festival that being celebrated by
the Hindus such as Deepavali, Pongal, Thaipusam, Karthigai, Tamil new year and so
on where all the relative in the family will gather and will celebrate it happily
forgetting all the bad memories happened all the while and also forgiving each other
for the mistake that they done. It creates a inner peace in the family and also brings
joy to the family. Finally, I choose to be a Hindu because I wish to reach moksha and I
strongly believe that by following all the lesson in the Hinduism lead me in a good
way and made me a better person with the guidance of the god and reach moksha.
