WORSHIP
Suggested Worship Songs:
Forever, Bless the Lord, Romans 5:8, For All Youve Done
WELCOME
Spirit-Filled. Are you filled with the Holy Spirit today? Why or why not?
WORD
1 Timothy 4:7-8
On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but
godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
The discipline of prayer, fasting, Bible-reading,
worship, etc. is good for us. Many Christians
however are weak and shallow because they have
never been taught that to become an effective
Christian you need to have spiritual discipline.
Do not get frustrated to fully understand the TriUnity but believe what you know from the Bible
about it (Read: Luke 3:22, Romans 8:9). If you
deny the Trinity, you lose your soul. If you try to
explain the Trinity, you lose your mind
(Augustine).
WORD (contd)
How can you be filled with the Holy Spirit
Do not get drunk with wine and be out of control
and so waste your life, but be filled with the Holy
Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) and be controlled by the
Holy Spirit.
To be filled with the Spirit is to be Christ-like
(Galatians 5:22-23). When you are intimate with
the Lord, you become Christ-like.
Discussion Questions:
(Leaders: Please choose questions that are appropriate to the level of spiritual maturity of your members)
1. Purposeful Discipline. According to our main passage, what must be your purpose for discipline?
2. Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Is the fruit of the Holy Spirit evident in your life moment by moment? Where do you
struggle and why?
3. Moment by Moment Refilling. What would you do and not do to be filled with the Holy Spirit moment by
moment? How can your accountability group help you?
