Xbox (stylized as Xbox) is a video gaming brand created and owned by Microsoft. It

represents a series of video game consoles developed by Microsoft, with three


consoles released in the sixth, seventh, and eighth generations respectively. The
brand also represents applications (games), streaming services, and an online
service by the name of Xbox Live. The brand was first introduced on November 15,
2001 in the United States, with the launch of the original Xbox console. That original
device was the first video game console offered by an American company after
the Atari Jaguar stopped sales in 1996. It reached over 24 million units sold as of
May 10, 2006.[1] Microsoft's second console, the Xbox 360, was released in 2005
and has sold over 77.2 million consoles worldwide as of April 18, 2013.
Groove is Microsoft's newly branded service rising out of the ashes of Xbox Music.
While the core of the service remains the same, with the launch of Windows
10 Groove is now available to millions around the world.

Microsoft Dynamics AX is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that is


simple to learn and use so you can deliver value faster, take advantage of business
opportunities, and drive user involvement and innovation across the organization.
Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform and infrastructure, created
by Microsoft, for building, deploying and managing applications and services
through a global network of Microsoft-managed and Microsoft partner
hosted datacenters. It provides both PaaS and IaaS services and supports many
different programming languages, tools and frameworks, including both Microsoftspecific and third-party software and systems. Azure was announced in October
2008 and released on 1 February 2010 as Windows Azure, before being renamed to
Microsoft Azure on 25 March 2014.
Microsoft has offices in 9 locations across IndiaAhmedabad, Bangalore,
Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, the NCR (includes offices in New Delhi
and Gurgaon), and Pune. Our main campus in Hyderabad houses research and
development, IT, and global services. Sales and marketing is headquartered in
Gurgaon while research and technical support centers are based in Bangalore.
Currently, we employ about 6,000 people across all our offices.
The two main streams are MSIDC (Microsoft India Development Centre) and
SMCG (Strategic Marketing Consulting Group).
Paul Allen was hired into MITS, and Gates took a leave of absence from Harvard to
work with him in Albuquerque in November 1975. They officially established
Microsoft' on 4 April 1975, with Gates as the CEO. Gates never returned to Harvard.
Microsoft launched the first version of its Windows operating system on 20
November 1985, and in August, the company struck a deal with IBM to develop a
separate operating system called OS/2. Gates handed over the CEO position in
2000, to Steve Ballmer, an old college friend and employee of the company since
1980.
Microsoft went on to release Windows XP in 2001, followed by Windows Vista in
2007, Windows 7 in 2009 and Windows 8 in 2011. It entered the game console
market dominated by Sony and Nintendo, launching the first Xbox in 2001, and has
begun to take on Apple in the smartphone market with the launch of Windows
Phone in 2011, and the purchase of Nokia in 2013.

In 2013, Microsoft killed the stack ranking concept.
