Anda dicadangkan menjawab soalan ini dalam masa 30 minit.
Read the passage below and answer the question that follows.
A Great Hornbills nest, possibly the first of its kind to be found in the peninsula, has
been discovered in an old-growth plantation.
Malaysian Nature Society committee member Anuar Abdullah McAfee, who found the
nest in a durian tree, said Great Hornbills, Buceros bicornis, were not uncommon in peninsula
Malaysia, but no nests have ever been found.
The discovery of the nest in an old growth plantation is in itself unexpected. Research has
shown that 90 per cent of Great Hornbills prefer to nest in deep forest, with a few to be found in
open forest.
A New Straits Times team which visited the site about 7.30am saw a male Great Hornbill
passing food to another bird, believed to be a female, inside the nest, hidden in a cavity in the
durian tree.
Great Hornbills, or Enggang Papan, are found especially in Langkawi, Pangkor, and
parts of Kelantan and Pahang, while at least seven other species of hornbills can be found in the
Kenyir area.
