I think that more time should be given because these things bring out the fine arts

and creativity in a person, and unlocks the part of a person's brain that math and
science cannot touch.
Art is a way many individuals express themselves. I believe schools should take that
into consideration and provide more classes students can take for art and music. If
students are not into art and music, they should not have to take those classes.
Students should have a choice and schools should provide classes that can fit
students wants.
I believe art is a great way to express yourself. This class promotes creativity and
individuality. It should be taught with the same amount of time as other classes, if the
student chooses to take the class.

NO . I dont think that more time should be given to subjects like art and music
.Electives and Language subjects are more important than art and music .

Kids need to learn from parents, not the state. Much of what we learn at school isn't
even needed as we head into the future.
Yes, children need to learn life skills but it shouldn't be put into schools.

Education is already infamous for (as a friend of mine put it) " Slowly and painfully
murdering a child's creativity, and not getting children properly engaged
in a subject." First of all, Art and Music classes ARE practical classes.
The U.S. Is the number one country for creative ideas, and Art and
Music classes are the only things that are keeping our students
creativity alive, because all the other classes (for most students) are
very boring and unengaging. Also, Art an Music classes make children
want to go to school. I remember my freshman year, the only class I
liked was Music appreciation. Finally, many students will have a job
related to Art and Music, I am currently a composer for the London
philharmonic, and I would have never have this job if not for the music
appreciation class I took as a freshman.
Students should continue to be taught the traditional subjects as well as being
introduced new subjects such as consumer math. As the world
continues to change, our education system should change with it, but
should not forget the important things of the past. Without American
History, important lessons of the past will not be passed down. Also,
subjects such as art encourage personal expression. Although equally
important, focusing merely on technological advances will turn us all
into robots.

Schools should prepare students for the real world.

They should be taught life skills, such as the process of buying a house and car,
managing bills and other relevant things to be used in the real world
after school. Some of what schools teach is important in terms of
academic assignments but sometimes its just not relevant to them.
Schools don't prepare students enough for the real world, its more of
they can't be that bothered to put in the hard effort to help students
succeed instead they just see them as a inconvience problem and pass
them on to the next person until they're just left to fend for themselves.
Some students are fortunate enough to know what to do, others need
help and to be guided but nobody is willing.
Solution, life skills must be implemented into the school curriculum.
Life skills being; managing bills, running a household, buying a car, buying a house,
independance in ringing around on phones in talking to people for
getting things sorted out and processing of forms ( government
documents )

Schools should teach life skills such as caring for a home, interview skills, caring for
pets, maintaining a car, balancing a budget, education on credit, and so
forth. On a day to day basis, this is what we all deal with. Everything
else is just a specialty and would be covered in college more than
likely.

Art education is vital for todays world including the ability to allocate resources; to
work successfully with others; to find, analyze, and communicate
information; to operate increasingly complex systems of seemingly
unrelated parts; and, finally, to use technology.
Learning is an action process, and the arts allow students to take action, to do
things, to make mistakes, to explore and search for answers. No other
educational medium offers the same kind of opportunity.
Art can provide an unparalleled opportunity to teach higher-level basics, which are
increasingly critical, not only for todays work force, but also
