NEEDLES
1 pair 10mm (no 000) (US 15) needles
10mm (no 000) (US 15) circular needle
Cable needle
TENSION
9 sts and 121/2 rows to 10 cm measured over patt using 10mm (US
15) needles.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
Cr3R = slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at back of work,
K1, then K2 from cable needle; Cr3L = slip next st onto cable
needle and leave at front of work, K2, then K1 from cable needle.
Pattern note: When working slip sts of patt, slip all sts purlwise
with yarn at WS of work this is back on RS rows, and front on
WS rows.
BACK
Using 10mm (US 15) needles cast on 80 [108] sts.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: Inc in first st, P to last st, inc in last st.
Row 3: Inc in first st, K2, *K2, sl 2, K10, rep from * to last 9 sts, K2,
sl 2, K4, inc in last st.
Row 4: Inc in first st, P5, sl 2, P2, *P10, sl 2, P2, rep from * to last

4 sts, P3, inc in last st.


Row 5: Inc in first st, K4, *Cr3R, Cr3L, K8, rep from * to last 11
sts, Cr3R, Cr3L, K4, inc in last st.
Row 6: As row 2.
Row 7: Knit.
Row 8: As row 2. 92 [120] sts.
Now work in patt as folls:
Row 1 (RS): K3, sl 2, K3, *K9, sl 2, K3, rep from * to end.
Row 2: P3, sl 2, P3, *P9, sl 2, P3, rep from * to end.
Row 3: K1, Cr3R, Cr3L, K1, *K7, Cr3R, Cr3L, K1, rep from *
to end.
Row 4: Purl.
Row 5: Knit.
Row 6: Purl.
Row 7: K8, *K2, sl 2, K10, rep from * to end.
Row 8: P8, *P2, sl 2, P10, rep from * to end.
Row 9: K8, *Cr3R, Cr3L, K8, rep from * to end.
Rows 10 to 12: As rows 4 to 6.
These 12 rows form patt.
Cont in patt until back meas 65 [69] cm, ending with RS facing
for next row.
Shape back neck
Next row (RS): Patt 39 [52] sts and turn, leaving rem sts on a
holder.
Work each side of neck separately.
Dec 1 st at beg of next row.
Break yarn and leave rem 38 [51] sts on another holder (for right
shoulder seam).
With RS facing, rejoin yarn to rem sts, cast off centre 14 [16] sts,
patt to end.
Dec 1 st at end of next row.
Break yarn and leave rem 38 [51] sts on another holder (for left
shoulder seam).
FRONT
Work as given for back until 8 [10] rows less have been worked than
on back to sts left on holders for shoulder seams, ending with RS

MAKING UP
Press as described on the ball band.
Collar
With RS facing and using 10mm (US 15) circular needle, beg and
ending at left shoulder seam, pick up and knit 8 [9] sts down left
side of neck, 8 sts from front, 8 [9] sts up right side of neck, then 16
[18] sts from back. 40 [44] sts.
Round 1 (RS): *K2, P2, rep from * to end.
This round forms rib.
Cont in rib until collar meas 20 cm.
Cast off in rib.

STORE

Outer border
With RS facing and using 10mm (US 15) circular needle, beg and
ending at end of left shoulder seam, pick up and knit 60 [64] sts
down left side of back to last inc, 8 sts along shaped row-end edge
to cast-on edge, 80 [108] sts from back cast-on edge, 8 sts along
shaped row-end edge to last inc, 60 [64] sts up right side of back,
60 [64] sts down right side of front to last inc, 8 sts along shaped
row-end edge to cast-on edge, 80 [108] sts from front cast-on edge,
8 sts along shaped row-end edge to last inc, then 60 [64] sts up left
side of front. 432 [504] sts.
Work in rib as given for collar until border meas 8 cm from pickup round.
Cast off in rib.

Shape front neck
Next row (RS): Patt 42 [56] sts and turn, leaving rem sts on a
holder.
Work each side of neck separately.
Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at neck edge of next 2 rows, then on
foll 2 [3] alt rows. 38 [51] sts.
Work 1 row, ending with RS facing for next row.
Join left shoulder seam
Holding RS of back against RS of front, cast off sts of front shoulder
with sts of corresponding back shoulder edge by taking one st from
each edge tog.
With RS facing, rejoin yarn to rem sts, cast off centre 8 sts, patt to
end.
Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at neck edge of next 2 rows, then on
foll 1 [2] alt rows. 38 [51] sts.
Work 1 row, ending with RS facing for next row.
Now join right shoulder seam to match left shoulder seam.
