STATE REPRESENTATIVE JOHN SCIBAK, HADLEY TOWN

ADMINISTRATOR DAVID NIXON JOIN AT&T TO SPOTLIGHT
LOCAL NETWORK BOOST
New AT&T cell site in Hadley bringing enhanced 4G LTE wireless service to local
businesses and residents
HADLEY, MASS., Oct. 30, 2015 AT&T* was joined this week by state Rep. John Scibak (D
South Hadley) and Hadley Town Administrator David Nixon to highlight AT&Ts investment in a
new local cell site, which has boosted AT&Ts wireless network in the area.
The new cell site, which has been up and running for the last few months, carries roughly 420
hours of phone calls every day and handles enough data to support more than 54,000 song
downloads.
Located on Russell Street in Hadley, the cell site has enhanced coverage for local residents and
businesses in the town and for students, players and fans at the athletic facilities at nearby
University of Massachusetts Amherst.
A strong mobile network is a crucial driver of innovation and an essential component of the
local economy, said Patricia Jacobs, president, AT&T New England. We know that our
customers rely on us for a fast, reliable wireless network to stay connected in their personal and
professional lives, and we are proud that our new cell site in Hadley is meeting the towns
needs.
We all depend on strong wireless networks in our daily lives, and I applaud AT&T for investing
in its local network to provide the service local residents and businesses need, Scibak said.
With their retail location on Russell Street, AT&T is a big part of our business community here in
Hadley, Nixon said. We appreciate the work theyve done to enhance their network in our
community its something that benefits hundreds of local residents every day.

This is just one example of AT&Ts continued investment in Massachusetts. Between 20122014, the company invested nearly $550 million in its wireless and wireline networks in
Massachusetts, and in 2014 alone AT&T made nearly 120 wireless network upgrades
across the state.
