    Vienna,whohasbeensentencedtoimprisonmentinconnectionwithhisclaim
    forrestitution.

    WeareawareofthelegalcaseconcerningStephanTempl.OurEmbassyhas
    closerelationswiththeSecretaryGeneraloftheAustrianNationalFundfor
    VictimsofNationalSocialism,whichwasestablishedin1995tofulfilAustrias
    responsibilitytowardsthevictimsofNationalSocialism.TheBritish
    GovernmentencouragestheauthoritiesinAustriaandothercountriesinthe
    regiontoaddressrestitutionandcompensationclaimsfromthosewhowere
    tragicallyaffectedbytheHolocaustassoonaspossible,inawaythatwould
    bejustandsatisfactorytotheclaimants.Wewillcontinuetoengagewiththe
    authoritiestopressthecaseforvictimsofNationalSocialismtoreceivejustice
    andfaircompensation,particularlythroughtheInternationalHolocaust
    RemembranceAlliance.TheGovernmenthasappointedSirEricPicklesasits
    envoyforpostholocaustissues,andhewillcontinuetoraisesuchissuesat
    everyopportunity.
