Season of Scares

Atta Way, Blue Jay!

Submitted by Jonnie Kemerling

A GENEROUS SPIRIT. Sophomore Alexis Eppens and

freshmen CJ Minino and Kyle VanSickle show off new Music
Department items with Bob and Berdie Jackson. Bob and
Berdie generously donated an electric piano keyboard and a
Fender acoustic guitar to the RP Music Department. These
two instruments will help in the growth of the RPHS Music
Department. The RPHS Music Dept. is very appreciative
of the Jacksons generosity and kindness they have offered
over the years.

The Atta Way, Blue Jay!

awards honor those students
who go above and beyond that
which is expected of them.
These students have made
choices that show their individual character and integrity and
their respect for their teachers,
peers, and school.
Teachers are encouraged to
keep their eyes and ears open to
notice and then recognize these
students with an Atta Way, Blue
Jay! award. These awards are
put into a box, and at the end of
each quarter, I draw three students names and one teachers
name. Two students receive gift
cards from local businesses, and
one lucky student gets treated to

lunch at a local eatery of their

choice! They also are allowed to
invite a friend to go along. That
way, they arent stuck with eating lunch with just me! The
teachers name I draw is also
invited to eat lunch out with us.
Our students here at Rock Port
are very special, and so many
of them are doing great things
every day. The Atta Way, Blue
Jay! award is our way of showing them just how much we appreciate them and what they do
and that we want them to keep
up the great work! GO, JAYS!!!
Award winners for first quarter are Shelbie Gaines and Noah
Makings (gift cards) and Dayle
Davis and Mrs. Skillen (lunch).

going Google.
At Rock Port Elementary, all
the third graders have their own
chrome book that they use at
school every day. They have
already learned how to operate
and use google school and get
most of their assignments online, so they can work at school
and from home while getting
extra help from their teachers
when needed. They have also
started getting their morning
announcements and sending
emails to people, helping them
read, right, and spell better.
We are not far from a school
that is all electronic. This could
be exiting and scary for some
people because some people are
scared of change while others
embrace it.
