Click
button on the right for details about the Modules and these detail information will
be shown on the Details Of Module dialog, as in Fig.11. Shown in the Run Line Table is the
routing that LED lights are lighten.
Maximum Height
It is related to the module design.
This is the shift clock frequency. The shift clock frequency depends on the performance of
driver chips and the circuit design of the modules. The higher the driver chip performance is
and the better the module circuit design is, the higher the shift clock frequency can be. A
higher shift clock frequency will results in a larger pixel array, more gray levels or higher
refresh rate that a receiver card can support.
Occupy
This is the duty cycle for the shift clock. The shift clock frequency can be increased by
changing this parameter. Normally, the duty cycle should be set as 50%.
Phrase
By phrase here refers to the time relation between the shift clock and the corresponding data
to be shifted. This parameter can be used to eliminate the errors due to the phrase, such as
image dislocation and flashing pixels.
Blank Interval
This is the line blanking interval. This parameter can be used to weaken the decoy. Increase
the value of this parameter if decoy is serious.
Line Change Point
This parameter refers to the time to switch to the next row. It is used in conjunction with
Blank Interval to weaken the decoy of scan mode LED displays.
Control End Point
This refers to the time to end the process for weakening decoy. It is used in conjunction with
Blank Interval and Line Change Point to weaken the decoy.
Smart Configuration
Smart configuration is for automatic detection of the module driven mode and signal flow
direction. Counts of steps for smart configuration could be different as some of the steps may
be skipped if certain information is known. Cabinets will be able to work after smart
configuration is successfully performed.
Load File
Load the pre-saved settings to the received card from a configuration file.
Save File
Save the information of modules, cabinets and other parameters to a .rcfg file.

Read From HW
Read the information of modules, cabinets and other parameters from a specified receiver
card.
Send To HW
Send the settings on the current page to the specified receiver card.
Curing
Save the settings of parameters to the FLASH on the receiver card. The saved data wont be
lost even the receiver card is powered off.
Save To Receiver Card
Save the settings of parameters to a receiver card. This kind of storage will last long.
Close
This is used to close the Screen Configuration page.
This step will be skipped if module polarity is known and set in Step 1.
Click Next on Guide 9 to finish smart setting process. The dialog of Save Module Information
will appear which is shown in Fig.21. Save the module information through this dialog for
later use.
The sketch of the scan board layout is show in this page. Select the scan boards from the
sketch. To select multiple scan boards, press the left button and drag the mouse. Click the
Send button after scan boards are selected.
Click the Curing button on the Scan Board page to store the setting s into the FLASH.
Receiver cards (scan boards) configuration operations are now finished.
Incorrectly set parameters will become red.
LED displays set with incorrect or improper parameters will not be able to
work.
All settings for the transmitter cards (sending boards) and receiver cards
(scan boards) will be cured (stored in FLASH) once Curing button is clicked.
This is used to save the settings to the FLASH. The saved data wont be lost even the
hardware is powered off.
Scree Type
There are three options for the screen type, which are simple screen, standard screen and
complex screen. Configurations for different type of screen will be given as follow.
These two parameters in the Scan Board Info panel refer to the width and height of the
cabinet pixel array. They must be set the same as those set in the Scan Board page.
Sending Board
This is the index of the current sending board (transmitter card).
Port Count
This is to specify how many RJ45 Ethernet ports of a transmitter card are used. A MSD300
transmitter card or a MCTRL300 controller has 2 RJ45 Ethernet ports. And a MCTRL500
controller has 4 RJ45 Ethernet ports.
Port Arrangement
This is to specify the layout of the output data from different RJ45 port. For example, if two
RJ45 ports are used for data output, then the layout of the two data set can be up-down or
left-right. Obviously, number of different layout varies with the counts of RJ45 output ports.
Sketch of Port Arrangement
The sketch diagram of the output layout will be shown once the corresponding index of a kind
of port arrangement is selected.
Start Position
This is the upper-left corner of the activated rectangular area of a LED display that is used to
display images. The default start position is (0,0), which is exactly the upper-left corner of the
LED display.
Scan Board Columns/Rows
These are the numbers of columns and rows of the scan boards array of the LED display. A
sketch map of the scan board array will be shown in this page after these two parameters are
set.
Reset All
This is used to reset all cabinet settings and connection settings.
Sending Board Index
This is the index of the current sending board (transmitter card).
Port Index
This is to specify which RJ45 Ethernet port will be used for data output.
Back
Clear all settings related to the last set transmitter card.
Clear Port
Clear all settings related to the current RJ45 port.
Width/Height
These are the width and height of the pixel array of a scan board.
Set Blank
Select this if the current position (pixel array of the current scan board) needs to be left unset.
The configuration operation is easy. First, set the index as 1 for the receiver card (scan board)
directly connected to a transmitter card through a RJ45 port and input values for other
parameters. And then set the index as 2 for the receiver card which is connected to the first
(index 1) receiver card and also input values for other parameter for the No.2 receiver card.
Perform the same configuration operation until the last receiver card. The configuration is
completed now. The pixel array size of the receiver cards can be different from each other,
and can also be left un-set. After configuration, click corresponding button to send the
configuration information to the transmitter card or save it in the computer.

For different transmitter cards, the background colors of the grids are
different.
For different RJ45 ports, the font colors are different.
The right button of the mouse can be used to clear the settings for the
current transmitter card.
Send
Use the Send button to send the backup information to the current transmitter card
(controller).
Add
Use the Add button to open the dialog for backup information setting. The dialog is shown in
Fig.30.
5 BRIGHTNESS CONTROL
Click Brightness button from the menu to open the page for LED display brightness control.
Brightness of each LED display connected with NovaLCT-Mars can be adjusted individually.
Brightness can be adjusted in three ways, manual, schedule and auto.
Click Color Temperature button to open the dialog for color temperature table configuration.
Shown in Fig.32 is a color temperature table. Color temperature can be adjusted by changing
the items in the table.
Port Control
This is used to control the serial port connection of the selected multifunction card.
After a multifunction card is added to the list, the Load Program, Power Management,
Monitor Data and Set Outer Device buttons will be available if the multifunction card is
selected.
Load Program
The Load Program button is used to load new FPGA program to the multifunction card.
Power Management
Click the Power Management button to configure the power supplies of a LED display. That
is to turn on or off the 8 power supplies manually, automatically.
Monitor Data
Use the Monitor Data button to show basic the LED display control system working statuses
which are the cabinet temperature, cabinet humidity and power supplies. More statuses can be
monitored if monitor boards are used.
Set Outer Device
The Set Outer Device button is for configuration of the external devices connected with the
multifunction card, such as light sensors and others.
Click this button to open the dialog for setting the parameters for system monitoring. The
dialog is shown in Fig.38. Through this dialog, refresh rate, thresholds for alarm and many
other parameters for system monitoring can be customized.
