SAMR Model Professional Development

The purpose of this professional development is supply instruction and materials regarding the
SAMR Model and for participants to actively engage in the presentation, as well as develop a
greater understanding of the different levels of SAMR to increase purposeful technology use in
the classroom.

Create a presentation that covers the different levels of the SAMR Model.
Improve teacher implementation of the SAMR Model beyond the level of substitution.
Promote effective uses of the SAMR Model beyond the level of substitution.
Assist in locating and implementing resources regarding SAMR for lesson use.
Develop a presentation using universal design for instruction that meet the needs of all
teachers/learners.
6. Create a presentation using a variety of web-based resources for learners across a
spectrum of subjects.
Learning Outcomes
1. Identify the different levels of the SAMR Model
2. Participate in modeling augmentation for classroom use.
3. Identify correctly the different uses of technology and their connection with different
levels of the SAMR Model.
4. Develop a lesson that integrates technology beyond the level of substitution for future
classroom use.

Learners that participate in this staff development will have been required to complete a needs
assessment survey prior to engaging in the online module.

Participant Requirements
To complete this online module and to receive credit for professional development hours through
Apalachee High School, the participant will need to complete the following activities. To avoid
confusion, it is recommended that the learner completes these activities in following order:

3. Watch screencast presentation of the SAMR Model.
a. At the identified point in the presentation, open tab and complete Padlet exercise

4. Locate the curated digital resources regarding the SAMR Model. View and read through
this material.
5. Complete the SAMR Model Summative assessment located in the Google Classroom.
6. Provide feedback in the form of an evaluation in regards to the SAMR Model
professional development located in the Google Classroom.
