Creating your Online Classroom 2015 WAFLT Technology

Workshop
Presented by: Sarah Shea French Teacher
Heather Lawrence Spanish Teacher
Over the last few years, many of us have been encouraged to develop an online
presence for our classes. If you are like many of us, you may have a website with
a page for each of your classes but little to no content. You may have had great
ideas about what you could eventually do with your site if you had enough time
and tech savvy. This workshop is designed to give you the ideas and resources to
make your class website cool, interactive, and useful.
Parents and students are looking for up-to-date information in bite-sized
portions. We can give them this information in a variety of eye-catching
ways using four main tools:
-

Text Boxes
- Photos
Links
- Add-ons (Embed code - HTML)
- You can use these four tools in a variety of different ways to build
and enhance your website.

It only takes a second for online visitors to form an opinion

about you from the look and feel of your website. You want
them to make positive assumptions about you as a
professional. Remember, clutter is confusing! Maintain a site
that is visually pleasing and gives easy to find, up-to-date
information.
