STUDENT EMAIL:
All students at RCC are issued a college e-mail accessible through MyRCC (opens in a new
window). All students, especially those taking an online class, are required to check this e-mail account
on a regular basis (at least 3 times a week during the semester). You will receive important information
such as registration deadlines, school closings, special events, class information and more.
Rather using the hyperlink above, email can be accessed using the following link:
http://www.randolph.edu/welcome/myrcc.php
When you send me an email, please include in the subject line your name, the class name and the
section of the class, for example: Bob Smith - Blueprint Reading - 60 HY. I teach more than one
online course at the college, so this will help me respond much faster to you if I know what course
you are asking about.
These sanctions are not on a per course or per semester basis, but rather for your entire academic
career at Randolph Community College. The appeals process varies based on the offense. For the
first offense, a student may appeal to the Instructor, Department Head, Division
Chair/Director/Coordinator, and then Dean. For the second offense, a student may further extend
the appeal process to the Vice President of Instructional Services. For the third offense, the
student may further extend the appeal process in writing to the President within 5 working days of
the Vice Presidents decision. For specific examples of cheating and plagiarism, as well as, a more
detailed explanation of the appeals process, please refer to the RCC website for the Academic
Integrity Policy in its entirety
ACCOMMODATIONS:
If you have a disability that may affect your academic performance and are seeking
accommodations, it is your responsibility to inform the Coordinator of Students with Disabilities
as soon as possible. The Coordinator of Students with Disabilities is Susie Scott. She is located in
the Student Success Center (phone: 336-633-0369; e-mail: sascott@randolph.edu). It is important
to apply for accommodations early enough to provide time for consideration and processing.
SAFETY STATEMENT:
The College is very concerned about protecting our students, employees, and visitors at all college
locations. You can help the College to protect everyone by reporting any threats that you receive
(or hear about) to your instructor, to security, or to another college official. The College always
takes steps to protect anyone who has reason to believe that he/she is in danger. Also, remember
to keep your belongings in secure places and report any suspicious activities to college officials.
Together, we can help our campus to be a safer place.
The syllabus is subject to change at the discretion of the instructor.
