A very good morning and a warm welcome to the distinguished guests on and

off the dias, Faculty members and my dear students.


Today, we have gathered here to witness the Annual Sports Meet 2015. It is
indeed wonderful to see such amazing gathering in spite of the hot sun.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Board of Governors of CMRIT, I extend a
hearty welcome, to the chief guests for the day.
It gives me immense pleasure to introduce the Chief guest for the day, MRS.
SUNITHA MAHESHWARI.
Dr Sunita Maheshwari is a US Board certified Pediatric Cardiologist who did
her training at Yale University in the US. She was the winner of the Young
Clinician Award from the American Heart Association and the Best Teacher
Award at Yale University. She was nominated one of the Top 20 women
achievers in medicine in India in 2009.
She is also a medical entrepreneur and helped set up Tele-radiology Solutions,
Tele-rad tech and kids - multi speciality acute care clinics in Whitefield.
She is active in the social arena in India where she runs 2 trust funds.
People4people has put up 200 playgrounds in government schools and Telrad
Foundation provides teleradiology services to poor areas in Asia that do not
have access to high quality medical reports.
Her efforts over the past decade to use technology to successfully educate
doctors and to help patients in remote areas of India and other parts of the world
was recognised when she was chosen as one of the few innovative entrepreneurs
invited to meet President Obama on his trip to India.

Welcome Mrs. Sunitha with a bouquet.
Our Guest of Honour for today is MR. MAHANTESH G.K, Founder
Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. Mahantesh was born
in Neginhal in the Belgaum district of Karnataka. For the first six months of
his life things were fine until he had a virulent attack of typhoid. This led to
him losing his vision. Tired of the humdrum routine, he decided to give in to

his inner urge of wanting to do something for the visually challenged. Two of
his friends dreamt the same dream and out of this was born Samarthanam.
Compassion and empathy have been his greatest strengths.
His key achievements:
One of the earliest Blind news reader in Chandana a leading
Government TV channel
Received Aryabhata International Award of 2009 in recognition of the
excellent contribution and services in the field of Visually Impaired
Received Vajrakumara Award from Dr. Shri. Veerendra Hegde for his
excellence in the field of providing a better lifestyle for People with
different disabilities (PWDs)
Received National Award from the Hon. President of India conferred
by Ministry of women & child development government of India for
Child welfare
Sir, we are happy to have you amongst us.
I now request Mr. Jayadeep, CEO, CMRIT, to Welcome Mr. Mahantesh with a
bouquet.
We have another young guest among us on this occasion, Master. ADIL
KALYANPUR.
A Whitefield raised tennis player. At age 11, he won the prestigious Little Mo
International Tournament at the IMG-Bolletieri Academy in Bradenton,
Florida. He has won the Asian championships in Ho Chi Minh city in March
2014 thus earning himself a berth on the ITF Asia team. In April 2014 he
reached a high of #2 in Asia.
Highlight of his young career was getting selected to play at Wimbledon and
winning the doubles title there in August 2014. He achieved this by winning the
Road to Wimbledon series in Delhi organised by the Wimbledon foundation in
April 2014. In April 2014 he also doned the blue shirt to play the World junior
cup for India. Adil, in his junior career thus far has won 37 singles titles, 19
runners up and 27 doubles titles.
Master Adil, we are happy that you graced this occasion.

Now, I request Mrs. Shreya Jayadeep, Director, HR & Finance, CMR Group of
Institutions, to Welcome Master Adil with a bouquet.
On behalf of the Board of Governors, Staff and Students of CMRIT, i once
again extend a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and students for gracing the
occasion.
