Vidya Foundation
VIDYA is a non-profit NGO. Were a charitable organization that specializes in the education
and empowerment of less-privileged children, youth and women through working with them at
an individual level. Our nationally-recognized programmes include schools, remedial education,
computer training, adult literacy, skills training, microfinance and social entrepreneurship.
Its mission is educating and empowering the less privileged through integrated methods and
initiating and implementing progressive social change.
VIDYA believes in an integrated approach to empowerment and education. They help
communities by helping their most vulnerable members their youth, women and children and
design programs in a way that empowering one empowers the other.
Fundraising Plan (Debt and Equity)
Plan & Rationale
The plan is to raise fund through applying loan in Ujjivan Financial Services. Their work
includes financial literacy program by providing funding to Parinaam Foundation. It believes in
the following rationale:1. Creating an understanding of the importance of being financially literate and equip them
with tools to make informed financial decisions and take control of their financial
situation
2. Educate microfinance customers on their options for borrowing and savings, including
helping them open formal savings accounts and the ability to use these accounts.
3. To provide access to a diverse range of financial products such as Big Ticket Loans,
Pensions, Cashless Transactions, Insurance, ECS, Remittance.

Strategy

Our aim is to promote education in the rural Odisha. We have been working extensively in North
India, Maharashtra and wish to foray into Odisha to help the government schools provide basic
facilities to the students. Some salient features of our intervention:
1. Children will be provided vocational training.

2. Medical camps will be conducted for eyes, dental and general health examination in

monthly/quaterly basis.
3. Teacher training programmes, teaching aids and educational material will be provided.
4. School uniforms & nutritious mid-day meal are already provided. However we will
ensure quality of food provided to children as per the dietary requirements.
5. A helper will be appointed among the villagers to assist and bring the children to school
each day and keep track of drop outs.
VIDYA can contribute by providing both financial resources and professional expertise (eg.
teachers/doctors/education assiatnts who would like to volunteer).

Time Contribution (staff and Board)

Projected Income (3 years)

The income will be dependent upon the fund raised and the activity of work performed. The
interest charged will be 24% per month.

Infosys Foundation
The Infosys Foundation promotes primary education among underprivileged children through
global partnerships.
Major initiatives the trust believes in are:

Efforts to improve access to quality education for children from marginalized communities.

Eliminating hunger in the classrooms to curb dropout rates.

It has largely contributed towards the upliftment of rural schools to buy computers and help
children learn soft skills

Under the Library for Every Rural School project, established more than 60,000 school libraries
across Karnataka. More than 50,000 sets of books were donated in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh,
Tamil Nadu, and Orissa

Granted a corpus towards a drinking water project, Jaldhara, in Jaipur, along with funds for
health checkups
For eg : Nestled in the Bannerghatta Forest area of Bengaluru, Sri Ramakrishna Vidya Kendra is
on a mission to end classroom hunger among children belonging to the below poverty line (BPL)
segment as well as the local tribal community.
Strategy
VIDYA can contribute by providing both financial resources and professional expertise (eg.
teachers/doctors/education assiatnts who would like to volunteer).

Some salient features of our proposed intervention:

Keeping in mind the above plan of action by Vidya , we propose a Music Concert exclusive for
the Infosys employees and their families in collaboration with Infosys foundation.

Infosys will pledge to grant Rs.10 Lakhs to showcase their support to our initiative during
the course of event.
Also, Infosys will request its employees to be a part of Volunteering network for our
organization.
Rest will be received through sale of tickets to employee families.
Tentative Estimate: 1200 people * Rs. 1000[Couple Pass] = Rs.12 Lakhs.

Total Amount Received = Rs. 22 Lakhs

Total Cost of Organizing Event: Rs. 8.5 Lakhs
Celebrity: Rs. 7.5 Lakhs.
Venue Location : Kiit Auditorium in BBSR has 1600 seats : Rs.1 Lakh
Promotion & Miscellaneous Charges [Water] : Rs.50000
Surplus Amount : 22-8.5 = Rs.13.5 Lakhs to be utilized by Vidya Foundation.
Time Contribution (Staff & Board)
- Board members collaborate with Infosys Administration regarding funding details.
Proposal submission , Request for details , Confirmation of participation in events will
take 15 -20 days.
- Staff completely involved for the promotion & designing of the fundraising event
10 people team Working 8-10 Hours for 6 days a week after approval of fundraising
event.
Takes 2 months to manage the celebrity, venue & other aspects.

Fundraising through Contributions

Plan
Raise funds through individual contribution. Here, we will be organizing a 5 km marathon to
raise funds.
Rationale
5Ks are easy to promote and easy to fundraise. Also it is an easy way for peer-to-peer
fundraising. They appeal to our support base, as well as those out in the community who might
not have ever heard of the cause.
Strategy
We will make money from entrance fees. In
addition to entrance fees and donations that we
will gather leading into the event, the marathon
will also have a special fundraising superpower
the participants. Through our main crowdfunding site, racers will be able to create their
own pages and solicit donations from friends
and families. Not only will participants be able
to raise extra money for our cause, but theyll
also be raising awareness. Even if those that
they reach out dont donate to or attend our
current race, they might in the future. Its also
great opportunity to expand our organizations
reach and this peer-to-peer fundraising will be
the perfect platform to do so.
Time Contribution
Promotion of the event has to start three months before the marathon so that maximum number
of people can participate in the marathon. Also, professional athletes may get time to manage
their schedules accordingly.
