baien. So wie in einer echten Stadt. wo auch verschiedene
Architefcten das Bild emer Stadt pragen. Die Idee mit den
Postern hat sich im taufe der Zeit ergeben. Die Stadte ha-
ben sich einfach perfekt fur Poster geeignet. Die Auflagen
sind nicht limitiert. wir lieben Reproduzierflarkeit. Umitierte
Auflagen sind nicht so unser Ding. Ernes unserer Ziele ist
em eCrty-Buch. ater da die A r t e an diesen Bildern so ex-
trem zetaufwandig ist, dauert das noch ein wemg. Weitere
Poster wird es auf jeden Fall geiien. nur wie schon gesagt,
es dauert. PAUt ist wie eCity. Nur der MafJstab ist anders
und erlauht uns detailliertere Ob.ekte. PAUL ist ideal fur In-

We create images Chat we think are fun. and we are lucky
that other people obviously think they're funny, too. WE con-
sider ourselves a band thai composes pictures. I can't think
of another style that's been cited as often as yours during
the past years Your style seems beyond current trends, it

culture: a supermarket usually is much more interesting than
a museum. Ho.v d d yen came up with your eCity series' Are

mho the fieck is PAL"" The idea of pixel cities is the re-
sult of us three designing a picture together where everyone
received some real-estate property that he could design and
buld upon. Just like a real city, where different architects
form the overall image of a town. After a while we had the
idea of creating posters - we found the pixel cities made
perfect posters. No. our posters are not limited, we love re-
producibility. Limited editions are not our way of going about
things. Another one of our goals is an eCity Book, but since
working on these pictures is extremely time-consuminc. it'll
take a while until we're done. Yes. we're also producing new
posters, but like I said, it takes time. PALL is just like eCity.
Only the scale is different, we can apply much more detail to
our objects. PAUL is ideal for interiors and gadgets. What':;
your motivation to portray fellow (Aliens as "jtrte" and how
long dees a single portrait take' We ware inspired by the
FBI's 9/11 "wanted" posters We like the stylized character
of our port-aits. We don't use any Photcshop filters. A por-
trait usually takes 2-3 days and requires a lot of effort Do
yi'.i have to approach potential clients and partners in crder
to get raw pro;ects, or do they approach you' We're lucky to
neuer have been forced to hunt for new projects, people have
always approached us. They see our web site, the projects
we've completed, the articles we're featured in. What are
