GLOBAL WARMING: A WARNING

I just find the documentary Global Warming: The Signs and The Science so
much to grasp. Maybe because the issue about global warming has so much
information that they have decided to fill it as much as possible, but then again they
had use subtopics, might as well stick to it. Like on evidences, they had mistakenly
put things that must have been on the investigation. Or maybe the investigation
should come first for free flowing of ideas, not scattered. In that way, audience would
be glued to it unlike what happened to me. But so much for that, lets look on what
have been presented.
What I love about this is that they have presented fresh information to me.
Like the greenhouse gases trapped a long time ago is still trapped today, only that they
have taken other form which they called ancient sunlight or fossil fuels, which is
primary contributor to greenhouse effect today; the nitrogen affecting the normal
photosynthesis, where plants are releasing carbon dioxide instead of taking it in; the
El Nio phenomena having a different behavior which we all know have a global
effect extreme drought, rain and typhoons or hurricanes.
They have also taken a new approach on what so used part about this topic, the
greenhouse effect and carbon dioxide. That increase in temperature brought by it
causes to shorten the breeding season of mosquitoes which caused an outbreak of
West Nile Virus in Colorado, who knew what other diseases?; the carbon dioxide
which causes an increase plant and pollen production which in turn an increase in
allergies.
I am also surprised that they have mentioned about the Earth only making its
cycle that this certain phase, the increase in temperature is normal, supported by
evidences but of course accelerated by our part. This is what I strongly believe in,
even before watching this.
On steps taken on this matter, much has change since this documentary is aired
last 2005. The hybrid cars mentioned have so much improved version now, the solarpowered Tesla Cars, created by the same company which aims to send people to
colonize Mars. Gas stations are replaced by charging stations. It has taken positive
feedbacks and sales and demands are high in United States, Europe and other parts of
Asia, I am looking forward for it in the Philippines.

Renewable energy of course is a brilliant step. I like the present plan which
would replace roads in the United States with improved solar panels, not only would
it gather energy from the sun but also from the motion of vehicles passing through it.
There have been built one in the Netherlands, first in the world, short track but a great
start for something bigger.
About the invention mentioned processing carbon dioxide; I just hope they
will build much smaller but more efficient version and trees is much better sight for
me.
But then again, Global Warming is a huge business. The need for these
inventions and even huge steps would threaten huge corporations and even
governments and their economies like the mentioned refusal of the U.S. to sign the
Kyoto agreement.
On the other hand, we have so many other things simpler steps that we could
do to combat Global Warming. The world is warning us, we may not even survive, it
is frightening but we are still even plunging to our death, take a break and look on
what would you can contribute to slow it down, the world is beautiful treasure it.
