WHAT IS KRAV MAGA?

Sure, there are others out there. Let's have a look at what the market has to offer. From KMF tot Kapap & Systema, they all
claim to be the only realistic Self Defence System and more to come.
Please don't think that I only like Krav Maga. I reviewed some other great systems but I need some time to write the texts.

SELF PRO KRAV

Self Pro Krav is not really Krav Maga. Levinet explaines the name of his system as follows: "SELF (Self Dfense) - PRO
(Professionnelle) - KRAV (Combativit)". Levinet is a great teacher.

HAGANAH
Invented by Mike Lee Kanarek. Kanarek took some Ju Jitsu, some Krav Maga and melted them into a rather usefull
system. The problem is that he spread some lies about his past to hype his system. The guy is clearly not an ex Special
Forces Operative... but the system isn't too bad.

SYSTEMA
Oh please. Have you seen those guy's taking people to the ground without even touching them? 95% of what I've seen is
total crap. Hyped BS liked by Martial Artists wanting a piece of the Self Defence cake.
Systema instructors claim that their system is the Close Combat system of Spetznas wich is a lie. Try Combat Sambo or
Samoz, guy's...

UCCS - URBAN CLOSE COMBAT SYSTEM

Belgian self called master/topinstructor Didier Coppens from the Didier Coppens Martials Arts Organisation claims to
have invented a top close combat system he calls Urban Close Combat System, in short UCCS. This system is nothing more
than a collection some unrealistic dangerous techniques.The only one that will get hurt is the one using the techniques.
As "the Master" has deleted all his Youtube movies after some bad reviews on Belgian blogs and forums we have nothing to
show. Fact remains: this guy is a fraud!

KMF - KEYSI FIGHTING METHOD

Invented by Justo Dieguez and Andy Norman. KFM looks stunning but... it isn't. Imagine a headbut to the biceps as
technique and an instructor course at 2700USD. No thanks.

THE FENCE
A rather conceptual system (nothing wrong with that) based on the findings of bouncer/writer Geoff Thompson. Buy the
book but forget about the Masterclass.

S.P.E.A.R. - SPONTANEOUS PROTECTION ENABLING ACCELERATED RESPONSE

Tony Blauer did a good job on that one. The system is a great framework for other systems. It's not complete and some of
the terminology he uses is incorrect but at least he has his facts straight.
Blauer claims to have researched the startle/flinch phenomena and its link to the survival systems withdrawal reflex wich
might be what he did but he wasn't the first to do so.

KAPAP
What might have been the predecessor of Krav Maga is now something that I wouldn't feed my dog. There are 2 main
groups. The one around Moshe Galisko who has never seen a real fight, did some karate, woke up one morning and
decided tot grant himself a master title, and the group around Avia Nardia. Nardia is a Martial Artist. I rest my case.

URBAN COMBATIVES
Lee Morrison is down-to-earth and has interesting insights. Urban Combatives is a great system. Most Krav Maga
practitioners training with traditional federations such as KMG, KMWW, IKMF can learn a lot what Morrison has to say.
Could be an eye-opener for some!

COMMANDO COMBAT TRAINING

Commando Combat Training claims to be a testing system rather than a Close Combat or RBSD system. Great idea! We
want more...

Aizik's Commando Krav Maga is a joke sustained by a great marketing strategy. Moni Aizik once claimed to be a superhero
Commando, of course he wasn't.

F.R.A.C.T. - FLICH RESPONSE AND COMBAT TACTICS

Guy Bloom doesn't have Tony Blauers' flair and charisma but brings (more or less) the same story. He should at least have
the decency to mention Blauer or S.P.E.A.R.
