Facts

Concept

The term communication has been derived


from the Latin word communis which
means common.
Communication as an exchange of
facts,ideas,opinions or emotions to create
mutual understanding.
Sender or communicator is the person who
sends a message or an idea.
Message is the subject matter of
communication.
Receiver or communicatee is the person or
group who is supposed to receive the
message.
Encoding is the process of conversion of
subject matter into symbols.
Channel is the medium or route through
which the message is passed from the
sender or receiver.
Receiver converts the symbols received
from the sender to give him meaning of
the message is called decoding.
Feedback refers to reply or response
.Feedback is necessary to ensure that the
receiver has received the message.

purpose of card?
Situation:3
Teacher point out another student suppose your relative
died suddenly .How will you pass it with your father
working abroad ?and what is the process of conveying
information?
Based on the responses of the students, teacher
reached the concept of communication.

PHASE 2: DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE


ACTIVITY :2(ROLE PLAY AND GROUP DISCUSSION)
Situation
Teacher point out two students and tell them to

communicate each other, ie, wishing a student for


getting first prize in interschool
Debate competition by other student.
From the above role play, teacher highlight the
important elements involved in the interaction.
Then, teacher divide the whole class into 5
groups and give activity sheet for writing the facts
involved in it.
Teacher gives the following key points;
.send the message.
..is the subject matter.
..is the medium through message
passes.
..receives the message.
After the prescribed time limit, the teacher asked to
the students to present their ideas.
PHASE 3: CONCLUDING PHASE
Activity:3(GENERAL DISCUSSION)
Directing instructions from previously
discussed details ,the teacher asked to the students to
explain the meaning of communication and its elements.
Teacher display chart and motivate all
students to sequentially arranging the concept in
memory.
Finally, the teacher consolidate the concept
with
relevant clarifications.
