PRODUCT BENEFITS
It is designed to effectively penetrate and remove slime deposits and to control the microbiological growth in cooling systems,
offering the following benefits:
- Little volatility - less halogen losses due to stripping
- One drum product - easy to feed and apply
- Effectively controls Legionella

PRINCIPAL USES
Sodium hypochlorite provides efficient and effective control of microbiological growth and associated deposits in industrial
cooling towers, once-through cooling systems and pasteurizers. It is fast acting and effective against virtually all
microorganisms. Sodium hypochlorite is an oxidizing biocide with good biofilm penetrating and removing characteristics.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Sodium hypochlorite is a one-component liquid oxidizing chlorine biocide.

DOSAGE
The dosage of Sodium hypochlorite will very much depend on the severity of the biological contamination and the nutrient
availability. Typical values for total residual halogen are 0,2 - 1 ppm. Analytical methods and a test kit are available for
determination of product concentration.
Your Clasic Nalco representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance
according to your specific system parameters.

FEEDING
Sodium hypochlorite can be slug fed or dosed continuously to a point of good distribution or close to the problem area.
Sodium hypochlorite is an off-gassing liquid, therefore suction lines shall be kept short, dosing pumps shall be installed low
down to minimize suction lift, and a degassing valve with bleed back to the PORTA-FEED or container is necessary.
MATERIALS: Storage and application equipment (pumps, lines) should be made of PE, PP, PVC, Vinyl, Viton, Hypalon, Kynar
or PTFE. Do not use Carbon steel, Stainless steel 304+316, EPDM, Brass, Aluminum, Neoprene, PU or Buna-N in contact with
the neat product.

HANDLING STORAGE - SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of protective equipment such as goggles and rubber gloves
when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.
The product can be stored for at least 6 months from date of shipping if kept in its original unopened containers and under
normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature. Storage vessels for Sodium
hypochlorite must be in secondary containment.
Sodium hypochlorite is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.
