This book constitutes a thoroughly refereed International Workshop on
funeral rites, rituals and ceremonies from Prehistory to Antiquity held in
anakkale, which was organized by two universities and two institutes
in 2006. The book covers a time span from mostly Bronze Age to
Classical Periods to examine some of the archaeological evidences as
well as to present and discuss of individual sites on the funeral practises.
Scholars of history and archaeology from different countries, contribute
to this volume by providing us examples not only from the Troas region
itself but also from the neighbouring distant lands. Recent excavations
and field surveys in the Troas provide additional information about the
details of our ancestors respond to the universal-inevitable truth: the
death.
