Actions are by Intentions

Every action has a Intention..

Why do we choose to buy or to wear the clothes we have?
Is the intention to be cosy? Attractive ? Revealing? Modest?
I always wondered why a Lady would show her cleavage.. What is her intention?
I believe What we wear is a true reflection of the heart.

You make a conscious decision.

You make a conscious decision to put an article of clothing or something of the sort on
yourself, and your decisions reflect you as a individual. You commit murder, therefore you
are a murderer and possess bad moral character. You wear a plain white tee and even that
shows that you like plain white t shirts and THAT reflects your character. Your decisions
define you. When you go shopping, you only buy what you like, and when you wear it, you
advertise that fact. So you show off your personality and reveal your character to those who
see you. Make sense?

The choice of your clothing speaks Louder than the talk

The motives of ones character is always seen by what they wear. People will always judge
you by the looks. If you present yourself in cheap clothing or rugs to important people, the
impression of you will be the first they remember about you. When we attend interviews, we
all dare to dress presentable. You always sell yourself by your looks. No wonder they say
seeing is believing and actions speak louder than words.

I agree dress makes all the difference

People's choices in all things reflect their character, even down to the details of their
clothing.
People instinctively recognize that if one chooses to wear expensive clothing, one is making
an intentional statement, perhaps showing one's wealth or taste. Likewise, one is making a
statement of another kind if one chooses to wear inexpensive clothing. Though, the
statement, in this case, may be that clothes are not of great importance. Those who dress to
accommodate the latest fashions show that they value keeping up with trends. A person's
choice to wear clothing that flatters them, or that doesn't, makes a statement about their
body image and self-image. Further, there's scientific research to support the idea that
sartorial clues, the details of one's clothes, do have significant meaning, at least within a
specific culture, to the other members of that culture.

Because we have the freedom to dress any way we please, I do believe that our
clothes reflect our character.

Fashion has always been an important form of self-expression. Since every person chooses
their own clothes, I do believe that our clothes are a reflection of our character.

When a person dresses himself or herself, then their character is expressed by their
choice of clothing.

Anytime a person puts on clothes, they are expressing something about themselves. That is
why we have so many clothing stores, and why so much money is spent on clothes. People
like to choose their own clothes and express themselves by what they wear. People can talk
a lot, but their clothes really talk more.

Clothing is the first impression but it is never the last impression.

Clothes aids in establishing self - identity while social- interaction, but it can't be a complete
index of a person . We can just get a glimpse of a person personality by clothing not the
whole look . And the best example can be Ghandhi ji " simple dressing and high thinking"

We miss out on many opportunities by judging by appearance only.

This happens a lot. Dressing varies from land to land, and therefore judging personality on
the basis of the dress someone wears is ridiculous. It doesn't even matter whether the dress
looks good on him/her or not. Personality is reflected by a person's behavior, manner of
speaking, and in carrying of himself.

True character is reflected in how we behave, not how we dress.

Clothing is quite often used as costume, to convey a character or persona, which may or
may not truly reflect a person's character. Bikers have a specific dress code, as do goths,
preppies and prostitutes. Ted Bundy dressed preppy and was a serial killer. Bikers appear as
social outcasts, rebels, and violent in nature, yet many live middle-class lives with loving
families. We miss out on many opportunities by judging by appearance only.

Some people place more value on appearance than others.

Some people put careful thought into selecting their wardrobes. They select colors, patterns
and fabrics that they believe reflect who they are. Others, however, see clothing as strictly
utilitarian and put much less consideration into selecting wardrobe items. Clothing as a
reflection of character, therefore, cannot be a universal assumption about everyone.

Don't judge a book by its cover

True that the way we dress can sometimes say a lot about our personality. But sometimes
looks can be deceiving. The most common type of people who do this are the people that
want the attention. The individual might just dress the way they think that would make
people think more about them. They buy the expensive accessories and all the branded
good. Some people just dress ever so fancy, ever so nice that you think them to be of higher
position in society but in reality they are just wearing a mask.Similarly, a person who is very
rich might not want to wear an expensive suit everywhere he goes.
But just stop to ponder. Is it really accurate to just judge someone by their garment? It might
reveal slight characteristics about the person. But not all of it. A women who dresses very
beautifully (this is another common example) on the outside might not be a very nice person
on the inside. Looks do not tell us every thing about the person. If you want to know the
persons characteristics. Don't look at the clothes, but look at the heart. Then do you have
the permission to judge the person.

The question was: "IS your character reflected in the way you dress?" not: "DO YOU
THINK your character is reflected in the way you dress?"

There is a BIG difference between the two questions just mentioned: the former requires a
"FACTUAL" STATEMENT as an answer and the latter is answered subjectively (it's YOUR
OPINION).
For example:
Q1: Are mountains big? (Yes...They are.)
> Q1 required factual statement. It can be considered as TRUE
Q2: Do you think mountains are big? (Yeah...I think they are...)
> Q2 is subjective. Not reliable as the TRUE answer.
What I am trying to say is this: the answer to the question, 'Is your character reflected in the
way you dress?' is a big big NO. And that, is not an opinion. It is true.
Why?
First off, what is 'character'? Character is NOT personality. Character refers to the virtues and

morals you uphold. Your personality does not reveal your character. Two people with
complete opposite personalities let's say, Person A has a cheerful personality and Person B is
gloomy. Both however, may possess a kind spirit, be full of integrity or whatever counts as a
character trait.
So wearing a mini skirt for example, does not say ANYTHING about your CHARACTER. I
repeat, CHARACTER is not PERSONALITY. Sure, you may be someone who prefers skirts
because they're easier to move in (comfort before pride); another may prefer mini skirts
because it may make them look more attractive (dress to impress - in a way that is a form of
comfort; 'comfort' in knowing you look 'good').
So what does your way of dressing really say about you?
It tells you and other people about your IDENTITY (or if you like to call it - our other faces).
When we are at school, work or simply lounging around the house, we adopt a 'uniform' that
is fit for that specific environment that we are in (including the people or social circle we are
surrounded by) there may be reasons for the dressing of certain uniforms (e.G. Looks,
convenience, culture or simply because you like to wear it) but they all relate to the feeling
of comfort (not character).
When YOU JUDGE SOMEONE because of HOW THEY DRESS, it is YOUR LOSS. Because you
lose the chance of getting to know that person better, you lose a possible 'best friend' or
even 'soulmate' because of your ignorance.
Character is reflected in your heart. But since we can't read each others' hearts, we can
intuitively tell a person's character from the way they behave or react to certain situations.
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him
power." -Abraham Lincoln
Maybe there are flaws to this argument, but it's not about being right, it's about trying to
reach an understanding between the two opposing parties. In this case, I understand why
others would agree that the way you dress may tell you a bit about themselves. But
ultimately, everyone is different. And everyone will have their own reasons for dressing the
way they do.
Thanks for taking your time to read this post.

It's our soul that we need to focus on, not our way of dressing...

In fact we live in a society where our bigger interest is on fashion and trend and we claim
that this is the reflection of our identity but the fact is that we're hiding these materialism
under slogans and statements. We have something more important than outfits and fashion
that is a better reflection to our true self and it's called a soul...

Some people dress to suit the fashion trend.

Some people build up their wardrobe to suit the current trend of clothing. For example some
people might pick a hoodie instead of a turtleneck because hoodies are maybe more in trend
among their age groups. This makes the person seem of different character, as one that is
cool and mysterious instead of who they really are. So although people may still alter their
choices with clothing according to their attitude, but the people around them and trend also
sets the range of their wardrobe that they'll go after.

It may not be of any significance to the other person.

Not everybody may take an interest in assessing the way they dress.
They might be more concerned with what they represent through their ideas and what they
work for. At times, you may not have the means to dress in a particular way. Then? Also,
some might find it time consuming, to think about what to wear and what not to wear. They

are individuals mostly driven by comfort and ease and who are satisfied as long as their
needs are fulfilled and not necessarily their wants.

IELTS ;Clothes are a necessary part of peoples lives

[s][/s]I know the pros are here. =)
And I'm writing to seek help from you guys to please have a look on the sample writing I did
yesterday. I am working here in Malaysia and didn't have a chance to enroll at Niners for review.
I paid for a writing review though, but the former examiner hasn't gotten back to me yet. So it
would be great if i can get inputs from you guys.
I need your honest feedback. Please help me improve my writing. My exam will be on Saturday
(September 7), so if you could please please comment on what I did, I would appreciate it very
much.
Thanks guys!
Cheers,
Katie

WRITING TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
Clothes are a necessary part of peoples lives.
What do you think clothes communicate about an individual?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or
experience.
Write at least 250 words.

Clothing is a basic human need. For most people, clothing gives us protection from the weather.
It gives the feeling of warmth and brings comfort to the body. While for me, clothing defines my
fashion sense and creativity.
I know people who are really not particular to the clothes they wear. Most of them dont even
care about the color or if it is in style. What is important to them is something that could make
them feel comfortable. For example it is winter, they will wear anything that could protect them
from the cold. It doesn't matter if they will look good in it, or if they will look skinnier in it, but
as long as it gives them warmth, that's what matters!
From my point of view, clothing is a very important aspect of my life as I use it as a way to
express my personality. It is something I give a thought to weekly. Since my college days, I plan
out the clothes I will wear every week. I never repeat my outfit for a month. It is a mortal sin for
me to go outside with my shoes not complementing my dress. I'd rather not go and meet my
friends if Im not happy with what I wear. I make sure that the color of my dress, ensembles, nail
polish, and hair go all together. It doesn't mean I have to spend a lot to buy new clothes every
time, just to come up with my outfit for the day. Being creative; mixing and matching what I
already have; and being able to come up with a new look after that is a big satisfaction for me.
Clothing might just be a necessity for some, however, in my opinion; it is a way to express one's
creativity and fashion sense.

Hi
as far as my knowledge, you made a statement that-- 'For most people, clothing gives us
protection from the weather. It gives the feeling of warmth and brings comfort to the body. While
for me, clothing defines my fashion sense and creativity'. But in the task they asked about your
views. You need to give your beliefs but you are contradicting yourself by bringing other peoples'
views.
1) protection
2) signify your traditions and its importance
3) shows your personality and attitude
4) clothing enhances the beauty and confidence which improves our performance
I am a learner.
sorry,if it doesn't help you.
good luck.

Hi welcome to the forum...
Here are my feedbacks on your essay

Clothingisabasichumanneed.Formostpeople,clothinggivesusprotectionfromtheweather.
Itgivesthefeelingofwarmthandbringscomforttothebody.
The highlighted sentence is too weak considering it is your hook sentence (first sentence of the
intro paragraph). Try to make it look more catchy and complex by joining the whole quote.
Throughout the years, many have regarded clothing as a basic human need because it protects
them from weather and brings comfort to their body.
Whileforme,clothingdefinesmyfashionsenseandcreativity
Always address your essay to a third person and not yourself, unless the prompt is asking about
yourself. In this case, the prompt only asked your idea about people's preferences.
As for some, clothing defines their sense of creativity and fashion

aslongasitgivesthemwarmth,that'swhatmatters!
First sentences should be strong and should talk about the general idea of the whole paragraph.
Most people are more concern on the purpose of their clothes rather than its appearance.
Tips on this type of task:
- introduction contains background on clothing and thesis of your essay,
- discuss about two main topics:
why clothing is necessary for people, explain and examples
how clothing can influence an individual's image, explain and examples
- try not to use "I" and "my" when talking about the topic, use these words instead, people,
person, they, them, individual,
hope this helps...

Clinical psychologist Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner literally wrote the

book on this phenomenon, which she calls the psychology of dress.
In You Are What You Wear: What Your Clothes Reveal About
You, she explains not only how psychology determines our clothing

choices, but how to overcome key psychological issues your wardrobe

might be bringing to light in your everyday life, or even at work.
Shopping and spending behaviors often come from internal
motivations such as emotions, experiences and culture, says Dr.
Baumgartner. You look at shopping or storing behaviors, even putting
together outfits, and people think of it as fluff. But any behavior is
rooted in something deeper. I look at the deeper meaning of choices,
just like I would in therapy.
We spoke with her to figure out why clothes are so revealing (of our
personalities, that is), what messages theyre sending and how you can
use your wardrobe to change how others perceive youand even how
you think about yourself.
How We Use Clothing as an Aid and a Weapon

Americans rely on clothing as an economic and social indicator

because there arent official marks of rank such as a caste system or
aristocracy, says Dr. Baumgartner.
When you dont have a specific system, people come up with their
own, she explains. Its what helps you figure out where you fit in.
Especially now, with the economy, with people losing status,
maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important. Our
clothes help place us where we think we want to be.
She cites the Real Housewives TV series as an example:
Look at the way they focus on money. When they fight, they use logos
and designers as a way to put each other down. Theyre using clothes
and accessories both as a tool to know where they fit in and as a
weapon against others.
Clothing That Projects a Good or Bad Image

Have you ever been told that you can judge a man by his shoes?
Unfortunately, its not that simple.
Theres no one piece or style that makes a person look successful. Dr.
Baumgartner recommends the basics when trying to project a positive

image: the little black dress, the blazer, the pumps. With classics,
history has done the work for you. It has lasted throughout time, so
you already know it works, she says. And what is it that makes a
classic a classic? It has multiple functions, and its appropriate for
different age ranges and body types. It became a classic because it
works no matter who you are.
(To help you choose the best wardrobe items to use and
reuse, LearnVest created the Essential Outfitter.)
On the other hand, theres no one piece or style that makes a person
look unsuccessful. Anything where it looks like you didnt take the
time or make the effort comes across badly, says Dr. Baumgartner.
The worst clothing is the kind that tries to undo, ignore or hide where
or who you are, or the kind that shows you didnt pay attention to your
body/age/situation Any clothes that prohibit you from doing your
job well send the wrong message.
What Your Clothes Say to You, Not About You

A study this year from Northwestern University examined a concept

called enclothed cognition. Researchers define it in their report as
the systematic influence that clothes have on the wearers
psychological processes, meaning what your clothes are
saying to you, not about you. And how they make you feel.
The researchers distributed standard white lab coats to participants,
telling some that it was a doctors coat and some that it was a painters
smock. All participants performed the same task, but those wearing
the doctors coat were more careful and attentive. Their actions were
influenced by their clothing.

3 Things You Need To Consider If You're

Offered A Job On The Spot

Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.

The best thing has happened: You landed the job before you even
finished your interview. Its like getting proposed to as soon as the
drinks arrive on your first date. Exciting, but also downright crazy.
This can be a pretty tricky situation to navigate, especially when you
really need the position. It can be difficult not to promise a response
by the end of the day, specifically a response along the lines of, Great!
I cant wait to get started!
But, there are a lot of reasons to think twice about any role youve been
offered this quickly. To help you make the best decision for yourself,
here are three things to consider when youre offered a job on the spot.
RELATED: 3 Questions To Ask Yourself If Youre Turning Down
A Great Job Because The Boss Seems Awful
1. Dont Feel Pressured To Accept Right Away
I know what youre thinking. This is a good thing! Right? Why
wouldnt I accept the same day? However, when this happens,
your default response should be to ask for more time to consider.
Although Ive never offered anyone a job like this during my recruiter
days (and really, for the sake of a contenders sanity, never would),
there are a few reasons why someone else might.

The position has been open for a long time and The Person In
Charge just wants to end the search.
The company is not a particularly great place to work.
Youre getting low-balled and the hiring manager is hoping to
lock you in for a little less money.

Theres one common thread through all of these reasons: In all three
cases, the company is trying to make sure you have as little time as
possible to do additional research and discover something that would
send you running for the hills. The irony behind this is that
you should do just that if youre offered a position this early. Most
hiring managers will be happy to give you more than a few hours to
consider the offer, but in the even rarer instance that youre forced to
make a decision before nightfall, stand up for yourself and politely
decline.
2. Ask Lots Of Questions About Why Youre Being
Offered The Role This Quickly
My assumptions about the early job offers Ive received are based on
my experience. But, Im sure there are lots of reasons why a hiring
manager would end a first-round interview with a job offer. So dont
be afraid to ask questions. A lot of questions.
While this might sound like a great way to look a gift horse straight in
the mouth, dont forget that in this situation, you have all the leverage.
Receiving an offer in the middle of an interview is a great way for a
recruiter to show his or her hand. The company wants youand sure
hopes youll accept without asking too many questions.
If youre stumped for questions to ask, here are a few to help jumpstart
the conversation over email.

If I were to accept, what would my on-boarding period look

like? And what kind of support would I receive as I got
acclimated?

Would it be possible to meet other members of the team to

help me make the best decision possible?

Im very flattered by this offercan you tell me what it was

about my performance in the interview that made you feel
comfortable moving forward?

These questions are diplomatic and also help you keep things
noncommittal. After all, youre a great candidate. And because you are,
you probably have a few options on the table. And even if you dont,
still take the time to really evaluate whats out there.

Clothes can sometimes tell us a lot about the person who wears them, but the
signals can be confusing if you are not really familiar with the culture of the
person wearing them.
Some clothing choices tell us fairly obvious things about a person. Where I
live, if you see a woman wearing a head covering, it tells you she is probably
a Hutterite. In cases like this, clothing can tell us something about the group to
which the person belongs.

Sometimes, clothing can tell us something about the attitudes of the person
involved. For example, a high school student wearing all black clothing may
well be a "Goth." Such a person may be into the supernatural and things like
that.
However, it is not always easy to tell what a person is like from their clothing.
For example, you might think a person wearing worn out clothing is poor.
However, in some places, this kind of clothing (even with holes in it) is
considered to be fashionable. This means that it is sometimes dangerous to
assume things about people from their manner of dress.

In some cases clothes can tell a lot about a person; however, one has to be
careful to not stereotype people based on their clothing. A person's clothing
can give you clues into the type of job they have (example, uniforms or
business suits) or what they do for various activities (example, exercise
clothing).

I appreciate that Megan addressed the issue of stereotypes in previous posts.
While certain types of clothing can indicate cultural issues or employment

issues, that's the only real certainty. Sometimes people where black because
they like black or it suits their mood. Sometimes people want to convey a
certain image. It says no more about them as a person than does their skin
color or economic status.

Clothes can sometimes tell a lot about a person but it can be very dangerous
to judge people based on their clothing. For example, I have had female
friends that dress on the "sexy" side, giving the wrong impression to some
men but were actually quite conservative and intelligent. I have also known
people who refuse to purchase clothes from anywhere but discount stores
(such as Walmart or K-Mart) and are very financially well off.
People dress the way they do for numerous reasons. Judging people based
on their clothing can lead to misinterpretation.

yes i do agree tha clothing tells a lot abt the persons nature and background. If
a prson is wearing a shorts and cut sleves top that would determine that she
is cool and modern by nature and belongs to a carefree family.

Clothes tell you what a person values and a little about personality. A person
wearing a suit tells you something different than a person with shorts and a
tank top. Color and style are important, but so are other things. Are the clothes
loose or tight? That tells you if the person is trying to attract attention to his or
her figure or not. How long are skirts or shorts? Is there jewelry, especially
socially unacceptable jewelry? It's also telling if the clothes are neat or
wrinkled, dirty or clean.

Personality And Fashion

Relationship Cultural Studies
Essay
Fashion is related historically to an individual's personality since it gives a general idea of what
the person is thinking of and minimizes his personality as well. Personalities have a big and great
responsibility; they represent the individual himself. Clothes help in expressing the innermost
thoughts, kindness, and feelings. This is enough to know what kind of clothes and what way to
wear appropriately. Sometimes we feel uncomfortable for being in a place that obliges us to be
with a certain dress while we have a different life style. Fashion simply is our appearance,
manners and characteristics. Fashion and personality are related and each one completes the

other. When looking at a well-dressed person you probably ask yourself does this person create
the clothes or just those fit him exactly? Colors most of the time give the mood of the person;
choosing the color while dressing is done according to the mood of the person, no one can dress
red, green, or yellow if he is in a certain situation and not happy, while dark colors are relaxed
colors worn by the stressed and sad people.

Attraction for woman is just as visual as it is for man. They think what she might be from the
way she dress and walk and vice versa.
Selection of the clothes according to the occasion, time or mood reflects the taste of a person.
The way of choosing the dress comes without planning and it can't be realized by the person
himself unless someone points and asks about sadness and gloominess. Fashion does not
necessarily means that one has to wear what is common to all but it relates to a person own
thinking and perception.
Everyone likes to be special and unique where as in some situation being unique is as being
lonely and far from the world, for this purpose there are different trends, and designers that make
a person dress the way he likes and the way it fits his personality otherwise fashion and style will
be a ridiculous job.
Moreover there is a story behind what people wear. It is not as simple as we can conclude from
the first look; time is needed to adopt fashion. Thus taking time in choosing clothes and coming
up with a style is an essential issue to take into consideration since it became a way of judging a
one's personality and mood. A person's personality is shown through his fashion style whether it
is: casual, classic, romantic and trendy style. Most of the time fashion personality fits a person's
lifestyle. Classic Fashion Personality
Classic fashion describes the style exactly. The person wearing classic has neutral look such as
gray, navy blue, beige and black which is the key in color choice among those colors. This gentle
clothes and accessories style is more likely for the people above the age of forty since if a

woman under 25 years old dresses this style then people around will probably ask why she is
looking older and over 40 years. People of this style do not ignore their traditional lifestyles but
they try to show their personalities whether the clothes are very expensive or not where the aim
is to look chic and elegant.
Most women choose this style of fashion for a reason that wearing classical clothes makes them
look thinner and thus taller. Women prefer to wear this style for the purpose of simplicity,
chicness, and highlighting their personality. These classical women have a linear approach to
fashion where they choose durable fabrics such as tweed, wool blends, cashmere, silk and good
quality of cotton. They go for the timeless wardrobe and this includes their fashion accessories.
Being elegant and tailored in the classical fashion personality is the desired purpose that wearer
look for while choosing this style.
This style differs from another since it's the only style which by looking at, the wearer can
recognize directly that it is suitable to his personality. This style shapes the way of moving and
walking around with a sense of elegance and softness without even feeling if touching the
ground or not. Classic fashion always starts with the simplest ideas. Silhouettes are sleek and
concepts are unpolluted. It is this clean thinking that allows a classic fashion to melt into any
current theme or style. The biggest benefit of this style is that classic styles as a little black dress
are different from the trendy ones. According to men simple jacket, pant and bow-tie is most
preferable in classic style. Classic fashions tend to stick with classic colors as well as classic
lines. Black, blue, white and brown are much more common than bright yellow, hot pink and
neon orange. Natural materials, such as cotton, silk and leather, are much more common than
synthetics, such as polyester, rayon and pleat her. In addition to the tailored and elegant style,
sustainable style is also one of the classical fashions. However it is a smart investment in which
the purchasers spend more on a single quality item of clothing than spend loads on throw away
fashion accessories. Furthermore, they on their neutral colors and dark suits for years to come.
Thus, classical style is related and almost has a peace of mind personality, means no confusion of
what dressing since this style is very simple, and by giving a special touch of your lifestyle gives
a great classical look. The person carrying this fashion style is a very simply person by which
he/she looks at the clothes and buy without caring about the price, it is enough that this is
appropriate to his/her personality. This personality is often tends to take the shots and being
famous people. Minimalism and Preppy fashion are also a variation of this style. Thus who feels
his style fits the classical one then do not hesitate in being a classical fashion style (refer to App.
I, Fig. 1 &2).

Romantic Fashion Personality
Fashion is also a factor that cultivates love and romance. It attracts a person towards others and
this attraction may lead finally to a strong bond of love. Prolific fashion designer, Coco Chanel
says, "Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is
happening." Fashion is therefore the power which actually metamorphoses an image. To some
fashion is a typical form of art again to others fashion is verve, a sensation, a feeling. That is with
respect to romantic fashion that has a unique way of dressing.
The romantic dresser sticks to the pastel colors and loves paisley prints, florals, gingham and
polka dots. It is described by the long skirts, hats, gloves and deep cut blouses or dresses with
plunging necklines such as a sweetheart neckline or V neckline. And sometimes searching and
looking for special antiques which are not found in the usual places, maybe visiting certain
countries for getting one's wants. Such people and especially women love girly, whimsical
detailing such as tiered frill skirts, patchwork and overlays of lace, bouncy tiers and upstanding
frills. This look is sometimes outdated. The love of the past is applied in present with this way of
styling. This style refers to the Victorian period where a woman dresses according to that style
known in the past.
Whatever it is to most people, fashion is a process, rather a significant method of utilizing
accessories and clothing to bring out the best of them. Therefore hiding or showing fashion is
actually a method of expression, and a mode to express their personality. Romantic fashion
personality is soft, thin and lovely personality. This fashion loves people and goes with all the
ages by differentiating each one from another, dealing smoothly without hurting or causing any
harmful thing to people even by words and dialogs. This personality is often and mostly found in
Europe due to their different nationalities and cultural variety of people. This personality is the
most feminine personality among the others. It gives a soft and sweet taste for the wearer, and it
helps the individual to form a picture for himself/herself as the heroine in a historical romance.

Being feminine is the aim of most ladies; smooth soft and kind look is also available for those
who have this style of fashion (refer to App. I, Fig. 3).

Trendy Fashion Personality:

A trendy fashion style is an up to date style where modern fashion exists which is related to the
technological phenomena nowadays. This type of style includes young people from age eighteen
to twenty-four years who follow fashion trends, are technology-savvy, up on the latest modern
music, and in general are part of a group of people who all follow these same trends thus they
can be known directly from the first sight.
In addition there is difference between trendy women and men. Trendy girls are easily
recognized. They are 'shopaholics', and therefore wear the latest top fashion clothes. They are
notoriously known for tight-fitting jeans and belly buttons are exposed (usually pierced) by their
wearing of small tops. Moreover they wear ripped jeans, flannel and converse shoes. Whereas
typical trendy guys commonly wear tight jeans and are usually long with fancy new belts. They
may also wear short sleeve t-shirts of top names such as FCUK, and may wear a jacket.
People of trendy fashion style appreciate a good sale, don't especially look for value in their
wardrobe and investment dressing is not their thing. Also they limit their budget but spend more
time on fashion than others. Although they own some clothing in neutral colors, the idea of
wearing an item of classic tailored clothing purchased several years ago is foreign to their
fashion sensibility. Trendy fashion is not suitable for workplace. In contrary it is a perfect style
for fun and entertainment places dressing the latest designer jeans, or six-inch high heels, and
trendy wardrobe which makes the wearer stand out from the crowd, showoff and also fit in well
with an active lifestyle.
In conclusion, trendy fashion starts out being weird until it is picked up by a fashionable source
consisting of models, stars and fashion labels further endorsing the product that is "trend" into
the mainstream (refer to App. II).

Casual Fashion Personality:

Casual usually is the style where probably jeans, t-shirt, sweats, and pants are preferable. This
style is a relaxing and comfortable one and trumps style. This style comes when no shots is
coming at the near and no lights would take place in the individual's life. For this purpose this
style does not look through the new fashion features. A casual person is much comfortable in
one's decisions especially in choosing the clothes and colors and it is suitable more for the casual
lifestyle, since it doesn't fit the workplace and official places too. People around this stylist feel
stressed and tired from seeing the person with the same style always.
Women and men dress randomly and they don't intend to wear something special or think hardly
of the items even in buying it. They focus on accessories and hand bags more than any other
alternatives. Casual style is totally away from the red carpets. This fad is just a casual one far
from the famous life. The wardrobe of this style is free from special and chic items.
This fashion style has a very strange personality; it is often a confusing one. The person having
this style is a comfortable person focusing on other issues than on clothes, however the look
through each item in the store whether they want to buy or not just for entertainment and being
up to the latest fashion. An accessory attracts this person style since it is luxury according to
them and it can complete their personality. This personality goes easily in wearing but confusing
in mental thinking. Thus, casual fashion style is good in some places and inappropriate in other
cases. Being a casual fashion style is very simple and easy (refer to App. III).
Fashion is an essential and primary issue to be realized especially when an individual recognizes
his/her personality and what fits it. Dealing and cooperating with fashion and styles is not an
easy method, since not everything can be suitable and appropriate . In additional to that having a
unique fashion style is not preferable since it makes a sense of loneliness and far from the usual
styles found around. It minimizes the individual's personality as well. It is a way of showing
thought, kindness, and feelings. A person must ask himself directly when looking at the mirror
what clothes fits him/her exactly?
Choosing the colors is one of the most important manners to care about and take into
consideration. Choosing those modes reflects one's attitude through life and his/her taste in
fashion. It is all related to one's perceptions. Furthermore, differentiating among: classic, trendy,
romantic and casual style is a bit hard on those that have no definite type of dressing and for

those who don't care for being a tidy and a good person. Choosing shoes, bags and accessories
goes also for the rule of choosing those items and related them to clothes.
In conclusion, by looking at a person we can know and realize what he's thinking of and his
feelings by just looking at their way of dressing. This is a very simple way in knowing
personalities rather than keep noticing each single movement of talking. Without regarding the
emotions that also can be a big and important factor for distinguishing personalities.

You Are What You Wear: What Your Clothes Say About You
Posted by Lin on April 23, 2008

What do yourclothessay about you? When you walk down the street or are out in public, what kind of
attention are you attracting? Do people smile, stare, point at you and laugh, look away, or simply ignore
you altogether? Like it or not, people judge a book by its cover. While it may not seem fair that people
develop an immediate impression of who you are simply by the clothes you wear, its still true that
your clothes tell a story about your personality and how you are likely to be perceived by others.

With current fashion trends as they are, it seems that modesty and
dressing appropriately has gone right out the window, replaced by the
shortest, tightest, most revealing clothes women and tween-teen
girls can find. Astonishingly plunging necklines, crop tops, mini or micro
mini-skirts, short-shorts (or daisy dukes), and other
provocative clothing styles that leave little to the imagination.
Theclothes you choose to wear on a daily basis provides important
information about you as a person, your approximate education level,
your income or social status, and even your level of self-esteem. What
story is your clothes telling about you? (Men, What do your clothes say
about you too?)
A recent telephone conversation with my 23 year-old daughter really
drove home the point about girls and young women thinking they are
being fashion conscious, but are really missing the mark. It seems
my daughter has been trying to help a friend of hers understand why
men have been treating the friend disrespectfully, from catcalls to
sexual propositions, and how her provocative style of dress just might have something to do with it. This
friend also seems to be surprised by the negative reaction she gets from female peers, and struggles to
understand why she has lost friendships since becoming fashionable.
When women dress in a skimpy, seductive style of dress akin to a street corner hooker, they shouldnt be
too surprised when men treat them with less respect and dignity than a woman dressed more
modestly. You teach people how to treat you. Is what you wear who you are? While it may be true that
what you wear doesnt define you as a person, what you wear is a reflection of who you are, so choose
wisely. Before you choose your outfit for the day, its important to think carefully about how you want other
people to view you and interpret your personality and intentions.

There are many clothing personality styles out there to choose from, from
sloppy dressers (I dont care about my appearance) to expensive designer styles, but the skimpy
dressers who opt to wear the most inappropriate, skanky looking outfits that exude a poor self-image is
truly alarming. Individuals may look at these wild, scandalous, fashionable outfits as a sign that you may
have less than honorable intentions, rather than thinking you have a great sense of style.

Whatever bait you use determines the type of fish youll catch. Having your ass-sets hanging out,
your padded-bra enhanced cleavage falling out of your revealing top, boys and men are not going to be
thinking about what a nice personality you might have. They are much more likely to have thoughts of
wanting to hit that at the first opportunity possible. Is that really what you want? What you wear is a
reflection of who you are as a person. Wear clothes that show your individuality, interests and real
personality instead of wearing clothes that may illicit obscene and unnecessary misconceptions about
you.

Even very young girls are being targeted to dress seductively and inappropriately,
believed by many to be fueled by pop music stars, television and movies, teen magazines
and clothing manufacturers. Personally, I blame the parents for buying these clothes for their young
children and teens, or allowing them to be accepted as gifts from others.
The sexualizing of children, both girls and boys, has been going on for many years now. As soon as
childrens television became deregulated in 1984, marketers have been treating children as fair game for
the almighty dollar. This new group of consumers are being targeted with lines of toys, clothing and other
products with sexual content, imagery and violence. Children and parents are falling for these marketing
tactics hook, line and sinker. Ill have more to say on the sexualization of children in an upcoming article.

MInTheGap, pop culture and media has a lot to answer for in regards to what children, teens and young adults are
wearing for sure. Parents of young children have to give serious thought to what clothes they are buying for their
children, and parents of teenagers have to be prepared to say No to buying sexy or inappropriate clothing. Too many
parents have lost their backbone, and they allow their children to decide what is or is not appropriate for them
to wear.

Lin, its a sex saturated society. And parents can be the worst offenders. They may want their kid to think theyre
cool, or they may actually want their girl to look sexy (though I would hope that fathers would be more sensitive, but I
dont know thats the case).
We live in a society that thinks that teens should be having sex, and that somethings wrong if theyre not. The
culture has dictated that teen girls should look like they work the street, and teen boys should treat them as such.
It really is sad, that these young men and ladies are being robbed of innocence and of the blessings of being able to
share all with their life partner all for an ideal that cheapens them.

WoW,
I actually choose not to dress provocatively often. However, you actually put a different perspective on the topic.
WOW! you definitely made me more conscious of what I wear. Your point was well recieved. GREAT JOB

Hi Shane, Im glad you found some real value in this article and that is causes you to think a little more about the
effects of dressing seductively or, as its usually referred to, provocatively. Theres much more to the subject than
most kids, teens, young adults and even grown up parents realize.

You are what you wear, very on point. This applies to so many things. First, I had friends who bought clothes their
parents didnt like with money from a part time job and would say Well they cant do anythign about it, I bought it
with my own money. I tried this my mean moms response And whos house, room, dresser drawer are you putting
it in? Whos washing machine would you like to use to wash it?
You are what you wear also applies to adults. I see many adult of a variety of ages wearing what amounts to sweats
or pajamas to do just about anything. What happened to getting dressed in the morning?

Hi Amanda,
I like your mean mom response to what clothes girls wear, or the clothes guys wear. Of course, my parents would
have said something like as long as youre living in this house, under this roof, youll follow our rules and our rules
are that you are not allowed to wear clothes like that, now hand them over.
