Thank you for enrolling in the VisSim Free Academic Program (FAP). This program provides professors
and students at accredited universities access to VisSim, for nonlinear system modeling and simulation.
The FAP CD contains program files, accompanying documentation, movies, case studies, and tutorials.
Please take a few minutes to view the organization of the files on the CD; then follow the procedures
below to access the files you want to use.
To distribute VisSim FAP to eligible students or colleagues, follow the procedures in Section 3.
Section 1
Follow these directions if you are the recipient of the VisSim FAP CD.
To install the VisSim FAP directly from the CD
A master installation program, FAPSETUP.EXE, on the FAP CD automatically starts up when you insert
the FAP CD in the CD drive. This installation program allows you to automatically and selectively install
VisSim FAP components to your hard drive under the VISSIM_FAP30 directory. The components you can
install on your hard drive include:
VisSim
User's guides
Tutorials
Case studies
Data sheets
We recommend you install all the components from the CD. Once installed, you can run VisSim, play a
movie, or print literature. These procedures are described in Section 2.
Section 2

tutorials that step you through the process of solving real-world engineering problems in various
disciplines. The CASESTDS directory contains short overviews of VisSim in use at different companies.
And the DATASHTS directory contains data sheets for the VisSim product line.
Each of these folders also has a DISKS subdirectory that contains an installation program that installs the
appropriate files on your computer.
All product literature files are in Adobe Acrobat 4.0 (.PDF) file format.
Do the following:
