Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Civil/Structural Engineer, you will be
responsible for providing engineering support ensuring safe,
cost effective designs are being produced for project delivery.
You will be accountable for review and approval of technical
documentation. This role will see your involvement in each
project phase from design through construction and operations.

QUALITY
Maintains, Controls and monitors Structural Quality Assurance System based on CAEL quality system.
Adhere to all COMPANY and CLIENT Procedures

Participate in Audits
ENGINEERING
Provide Execution Statements, Man-hour and Schedule Estimates for input to Proposal
Perform site visits and surveys including preparation of site visit plan and site visit report
Carried out conceptual and detailed civil and structural design
Produce Engineering Calculation, Design Specifications and Scope of Work for Installation and
Construction.
Review material take-offs based on the drawings issued and other necessary related documents.
Be responsible for timely deliver of all drawings and MTOs.
Interprets & checks vendor, fabricator, installation/construction contractor drawings.
Advise Designers for the "know-how" of Civil/Structural basic engineering & detail design.
Advises, instructs & controls Designers for quality and schedule of Structural engineering & design
works.

Checks & reviews completed Civil/Structural drawings & 3D Model prior to submission to Group Leader
Resolves clashes in 3D design with other disciplines.
Manage Weight Control for Offshore Structures.
Reports problems or design clarifications to the Group Leader.

PLANNING and PROGRESS MEASUREMENT

Prepares and controls detailed Engineering & Design schedule for assigned work.
Monitoring of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Design Schedule and progress.
Ensuring the project is within budget Man Hour and delivered on or ahead of schedule.
Prepares & submits to the Group Leader and Controls Engineer the design progress and other
necessary reports.
MANAGEMENT/INTERFACES
Have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Management and building relationship with other disciplines/departments, subcontractors, supervisors,
and suppliers.
Providing engineering support to construction group.
Provide timely turn around to Site Queries.

Implementation, monitoring and control of Information Security Management System as per CAEL
Information Asset Management.
CODES and STANDARDS
Follow CAEL, CLIENT, National and International Codes, Standard and Practices for Oil and Gas and
Petrochemical Industry.
Raise Deviations and seek approval.
Follow Client Specifications.
SOFTWARE
Perform Analysis using STAAD-III, SACS and SESAM.
Perform Calculations with in-house developed spreadsheets and Mathcad.
A high level of computer literacy.

Qualifications:
Tertiary/technical qualifications either in Civil or Structural Engineering is a requirement.
Experience & Technical Competencies:
Minimum of 3 years Oil and Gas, Petrochemical Experience
Minimum 3 years Middle East Experience Preferred
Knowledge of latest design codes and practices.
Knowledge of latest engineering and analytical techniques and software is essential.
Knowledge of Onshore Oil and Gas Civil/Structural Design for Green Field and Brownfield essential
Have gained prior exposure to LNG refineries.
Knowledge in Offshore Platforms, jackets, topsides, riser, boat landings, flares, bridges, design and reassessment preferred.
Knowledge in In-Place, Transportation, Lift, Fatigue and Dynamic Analysis preferred.
Knowledge in Concrete and Steel Design to ACI, ASCE, AISC, API, DNV, BS5950 and other
International Design Codes.
Good working knowledge of Offshore Lifting Codes preferred.
Knowledge in both in Permissible Stress and Ultimate Limit State Design.
Knowledge in STAAD, SACS, SESAM and other acceptable industry standard analysis software
required.
Must be proficient in Risa Foundation & MathCAD.
Demonstrated success in past project involvement and technical delivery of small to medium size
projects.
Proven ability to influence and mentor others in safety principles and behaviours.
Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational
environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others with regard to continuous improvement.
Experience working with EPC / EPCm Companies.
Experience with Clients in Qatar is preferred.
